DYNAMICALLY MODIFIABLE AIR MOVERS AND CONTROL THEREOF

Dynamically modifiable air movers can be modified during operation of a computing system to allow the performance of the fan (air flow, air flow split between exhausts) to be adjusted based on a workload being performed by the system. The physical modifications that an air mover can undergo are physical in nature and include adjusting the placement of one or more cutwaters, expanding or contracting an expandable portion of the fan housing, covering or uncovering an exhaust to provide or remove cooling to memory components, and moving a slidable strip to extend or withdraw from an exhaust. Causing one or more of these physical modifications to be made can be performed in response to the system determining that a temperature, rate of temperature change, power consumption level, rate of power consumption level change of the system or system components exceeds or has dropped below a threshold level.

FAN COVERING WITH HIGH RECYCLE CONTENT AND HIGH THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY

Disclosed is a covering of a fan unit of an information handling system. The covering contains a bottom covering and a top covering. The bottom covering contains i) copper and an first aluminum alloy, or ii) 10 wt. % to 50 wt. % of a thermally conductive plastic, and 50 wt. % to 90 wt. % of a post-consumer-recycled (PCR) plastic and/or biodegradable plastic. The top covering contains copper and a second aluminum alloy. The bottom covering houses a motor and blades of a fan of the fan unit, the top covering abuts against the bottom covering, and the fan is positioned in a space formed between the bottom and top covering. Fan unit containing the covering, and an information handling system containing the fan unit is also disclosed.

A support module for a fan, which includes a motor and a fan impeller driven in rotation by the motor, in an embodiment for a radial or diagonal fan, for fastening the fan impeller between a nozzle plate on the inflow side and a base plate lying opposite the nozzle plate at a distance, wherein the motor is non-rotatably mounted with the fan impeller on or in the base plate and is held on the nozzle plate by means of struts extending between the base plate and the nozzle plate characterized in that the struts are adjusted to the flow exiting the fan impeller with a compact design. A fan is provided with a corresponding support module.

PRODUCTION METHOD OF ALLOY MEMBER, ALLOY MEMBER, AND PRODUCT USING ALLOY MEMBER
20230122004 · 2023-04-20 · ·

A production method for an alloy member having mainly high hardness and high resistance to corrosion and produced by an additive manufacturing method, the alloy member, and a product using the alloy member are provided. The production method for an alloy member includes: an additive manufacturing step of forming a shaped member through an additive manufacturing method using an alloy powder containing elements Co, Cr, Fe, Ni, and Ti each in a range of 5 atom% to 35 atom% and containing Mo in a range exceeding 0 atom% and 8 atom% or less, the remainder being unavoidable impurities; and a heat treatment step of holding the shaped member in a temperature range higher than 500° C. and lower than 900° C. directly after the additive manufacturing step without undergoing a step of holding the shaped member in a temperature range of 1080° C. to 1180° C.

COMPRESSOR WHEEL ARRANGEMENT AND METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF A COMPRESSOR WHEEL ARRANGEMENT

A compressor wheel arrangement for an electrically powered turbocharger, which can be connected with a rotor shaft of the turbocharger, having a compressor wheel made of a first metallic material, a shaft made of a second metallic material, which is tightly connected with the compressor wheel, at least one permanent magnet, which is non-rotatably arranged on the section of the shaft, in a ring-shaped area around a section of the shaft that extends behind the compressor wheel, between a casing and the shaft.

COMPRESSOR SHROUDED IMPELLER ARRANGEMENT
20220325720 · 2022-10-13 ·

A refrigerant compressor according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, an impeller configured to rotate about an axis, and a shroud. The impeller has a plurality of blades. The shroud is secured to the impeller with an adhesive at tips of the plurality of blades.

ELECTRIC PUMP WITH ISOLATED STATOR
20230065642 · 2023-03-02 ·

The present disclosure relates to an electric pump including a housing defining an inlet and an outlet. The electric pump includes a rotor and stator within the housing. The rotor is liquid cooled by working fluid of the pump and the stator is positioned in a dry chamber that is sealed to prevent the working fluid from entering the dry chamber. A heat exchanger is used to cool the stator. An impeller driven by the rotor draws working fluid into the housing through the inlet. The working fluid passes through the heat exchanger to draw heat from the stator before reaching the impeller. The working fluid is discharged from the housing through the outlet by the impeller.

Fan frame

A fan frame includes a metal base and a frame body. The metal base has a center portion, a plurality of supporting portions with strip shapes and a plurality of wing portions. Each of the supporting portions has a head end, a middle part and a tail end. The head end connects to a peripheral part of the center portion. The wing portions extend outwardly at an angle from the middle parts of the supporting portions, respectively. The frame body has a frame wall. The wing portions are partially at least covered by the frame body. Another fan frame is also disclosed.

Metal surface preparation

A bonded part includes: a substrate including a polymer matrix material; a metal layer; a layer of adhesive between the substrate and the metal layer; and a layer of smut between the layer of adhesive and the metal layer.

Motor assembly and method for manufacturing the same

A motor assembly includes a rolling bearing installed on a rotation shaft between an impeller and a rotor to support a first support of the rotation shaft, and a motor housing having a stator. The motor housing has a gas bearing bracket for accommodating a second support of the rotation shaft disposed at a side opposite to the first support with respect to the rotor. The motor assembly includes a gas bearing assembly in the gas bearing bracket to support rotation of the second support of the rotation shaft. The gas bearing assembly includes a gas bearing for surrounding the second support.
