IMPROVEMENTS RELATING TO WIND TURBINE BLADE MANUFACTURE
A method of making a wind turbine blade (10) having a shear web (20, 22) bonded between first and second half shells (16, 18) is described. The method involves providing a web locator (40) on an inner surface of a half shell. The web locator has a fixed portion (42) and a spring portion (44) extending from the fixed portion. The spring portion is moveable relative to the fixed portion between compressed and relaxed states.
WIND TURBINE BLADE BODY MANUFACTURING METHOD
The invention provides a wind turbine blade body manufacturing method, the method comprising the steps of: providing a mould (40) having an elongated mould surface (43), placing a movable insert (50) on the mould surface, in a first position, forming, with the insert in the first position, a first blade body having a first length (L1), placing the insert (50) on the mould surface, in a second position, and forming, with the insert in the second position, a second blade body having a second length (L2) which is different from the first length.
Noise Reduction to the Trailing Edge of Fluid Dynamic Bodies
A fluid dynamic body having a trailing edge with a pattern formed thereon, the pattern can include a plurality of smoothly surfaced adjacent members with respective interstices therebetween, wherein at least one of the interstices completely contains a porous barrier. In some embodiments, the porous barrier can obstruct fluid flow through the respective interstice between a first surface of the fluid dynamic body on a first side of the trailing edge and a second surface of the fluid dynamic body on a second side of the trailing edge. This helps to reduce noise produced at the trailing edge. In some embodiments, the fluid dynamic body is a wind turbine blade or an air-engine blade.
STRUT LINKAGE FOR A STEEL CONSTRUCTION, AND STEEL CONSTRUCTION HAVING A STRUT LINKAGE
A strut linkage for a steel construction may involve a tower of a wind turbine and/or a corner post of a lattice tower. In order that high forces can be removed via the strut linkage without causing increased stress concentrations, excessive use of material, and/or an excessive structural outlay, a plate element is provided for arranging between, preferably load-bearing, steel construction components. At least one connection element, which may be connected to the plate element, may be utilized to fasten at least one strut and/or guy of the steel construction to the steel construction components via the plate element.”
HYBRID TOWER SECTION, HYBRID TOWER FOR A WIND POWER PLANT AND METHOD OF PRODUCTION
A hybrid tower section for arrangement between a concrete tower section and a steel tower section of a hybrid tower for a wind power installation. The hybrid tower section comprises a steel flange having a multiplicity of annularly arranged blind holes and having a multiplicity of annularly arranged passage holes, a steel outer casing, and a concrete core, wherein the annular arrangement of the blind holes has a larger radius than the annular arrangement of the passage holes, wherein the steel outer casing has a larger radius than the annular arrangement of the blind holes, wherein the concrete core adjoins the steel flange and the steel outer casing, and a radially inner side of the concrete core has a larger radius than the annular arrangement of the passage holes.
Optimized Multiple Airfoil Wind Turbine Blade Assembly
A method for optimizing multiple airfoil wind turbine blades, having, specifically, at least a primary airfoil and a secondary airfoil with an aerodynamic gap therebetween. an optimized multiple airfoil wind turbine blade assembly, and a modular method for manufacturing and assembling the same.
WIND TURBINE BLADE HAVING A TRAILING EDGE FLAP
A wind turbine blade includes a trailing edge flap having a flap part protruding from the trailing edge on the pressure side of the blade. The flap part has a first section and a second section each having an upstream surface arranged to face an oncoming airflow in use. The first section extends from the trailing edge and has a proximal end and a distal end in cross-section. The proximal end is located at or near the trailing edge and the distal end is spaced apart from the trailing edge. The first section is oriented such that an obtuse angle is defined between the upstream surface of the first section and a plane that extends parallel to the local chordal plane and intersects the proximal end of the first section. The second section is oriented such that the upstream surfaces of the first and second sections together define a concave profile in cross section.
LARGE-SIZE WIND POWER BLADE HAVING MULTI-BEAM STRUCTURE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR
A large-size wind power blade with a multi-beam structure and its manufacturing method, wherein the blade adopts a hollow layout structure and comprises a blade skin suction edge, a blade skin pressure edge, a main load-carrying structure crossbeam and anti-shearing webs, wherein the blade skin suction edge and the blade skin pressure edge are combined to form a cavity structure having a streamlined cross section, wherein a support structure formed by the combination of the main load-carrying structure crossbeam and the anti-shearing web is located in the cavity. Both the blade skin suction edge and the blade skin pressure edge adopt a multi-segment combined structure, wherein the multiple segments are connected to the side surface of the main load-carrying structure crossbeam to integrally form the blade skin suction edge and the skin pressure edge. Under the premise of ensuring the structural rigidity and strength, the anti-bending capability as well as the stability of the blade of the present invention is increased. With the use of high modulus carbon fiber laxer, the weight of the blade is reduced, the load of the blade, especially the fatigue load, is reduced is reduced.
A Reinforced Wind Turbine Blade Component
A component for a wind turbine blade is described having a reinforced through-going aperture. The reinforcement can be provide by way of a fibre rope arranged around the periphery of the aperture, or as fibre material arranged in a radially-extending arrangement from the aperture.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A WIND TURBINE TOWER STRUCTURE BASED ON WIND DIRECTION
A method for manufacturing a tower structure of a wind turbine at a wind turbine site. The method includes determining an optimized shape of the tower structure based on one or more site parameters. Further, the optimized shape of the tower structure is non-symmetrical. In a further step, the method include printing, via an additive printing device, the optimized shape of the tower structure of the wind turbine at the wind turbine site, at least in part, of a cementitious material. In addition, the method includes allowing the cementitious material to cure so as to form the tower structure of the wind turbine.
