Neurostimulation guided by brain network modeling
11779775 · 2023-10-10 ·

A method of targeting magnetic neurostimulation to a patient suffering a mood disorder is initially obtained by creating a brain network model through evaluation of data sensed from the brain of the patient. A determination is made of a brain target location of a first brain region which is based at least partly on a functional connection of the first brain region to a second brain region reflected in the brain network model. A magnetic stimulation signal is transmitted to the brain target location for treatment of the mood disorder of the patient where the magnetic stimulation signal is provided by a transcranial magnetic stimulator.

A retinal phototherapy or photostimulation system includes a laser console generating at least one treatment beam having parameters to photostimulate or treat, while not permanently damaging, a retinal target tissue. The parameters of the at least one treatment beam are fixed so as not to be alterable by a medical provider. A projector or camera projects the at least one treatment beam onto at least a portion of the retina, and a scanning mechanism controllably directs the at least one treatment beam to treatment areas of the retina.

Acquisition of Interferometric Recordings of Brain and Neuron Activity by Coherent Microwave Probe With Therapeutic Activation, Inactivation, or Ablation of Molecular, Neuronal or Brain Targets

Low power MASER (Microwave Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) radiation is used to non-invasively record molecular activity in a biological object such as a brain. Low power MASER radiation is also used to neuromodulate molecular targets via Rabi coupling, resulting for example in conformational and function change in specific molecular targets such as ligand-gated ion channels, voltage-gated ion channels, G-proteins, or dopamine receptors. The method can be used to change the energy state of targeted molecules via energization or enervation, or to ablate targeted molecules.

Systems for controlling power to differently loaded antenna arrays

In one example in accordance with the present disclosure, an antenna system is described. The antenna system includes an array of antennas. Each antenna emits electromagnetic waves and is presented with a load that is different from other antennas in the array. The antenna system also includes a control system. The control system includes a single transmitter to sequentially drive antenna sets, a switching device to select, for each activation period in an activation sequence, an antenna set to be driven, and a controller. The controller determines an actual power output of each antenna and generates an adjusted control signal for the single transmitter such that the output of each antenna is controlled to match a target power for that antenna, regardless of a load for the antenna.

The operating method may include generating a control signal to control patches attached to the skin of a user, dividing the control signal into a first signal and a second signal having a phase different from a phase of the first signal, transmitting the first signal and the second signal to patches attached to different positions, among the patches, and producing hyperthermia in a body of the user by radiating radio waves based on the first signal or the second signal received by each of the patches.

Phased-array MASER detector for synthetic aperture interferometric imaging
11641088 · 2023-05-02 · ·

A phased-array MASER detector for synthetic aperture interferometric three-dimensional imaging. The detector elements, for example 10.sup.2-10.sup.6 zero bias Schottky detector diodes with sufficient sensitivity to reliably detect various values of MASER radiation, are arranged in layers offset in three dimensions. The phased-array MASER detector is particularly useful for detecting characteristics in a biological object using low energy (2-10 Watts), coherent MASER radiation. MASER intensity data of an interferometric pattern is collected by the detector array, is deconvolved, and is used to generate three-dimensional energy activity maps for a given time slice or on a time-shifting basis.
