Tensioned support post and other molten metal devices

A vertically-elongated member, which is preferably a support post used in a molten metal pump, includes a ceramic tube and tensioning structures to add a compressive load to the tube along its longitudinal axis. This makes the tube less prone to breakage. Another vertically-elongated member, such as a support post, includes one or more reinforcement members to help alleviate breakage. A device, such as a pump, used in a molten metal bath includes one or more of such vertical members.

Surface pump assembly

A surface mounted pump assembly includes a centrifugal pump having a plurality of impellers and an electric motor adapted to drive the pump such that a thrust load from the pump is transmitted to the motor.

An impeller that rotates about a central axis extending vertically includes a base portion and blades. The base portion spreads perpendicularly to the central axis. The blades are on an upper surface of the base portion at intervals in a circumferential direction. The base portion includes an irregular portion that is radially outward and in which irregularities are repeated in the circumferential direction. The irregular portion includes one or more first irregular regions and a second irregular region. The first irregular regions include first recesses with a same shape and first projections with same shape, the first recesses and projections being alternately arranged one by one. The second irregular region is positioned between the first irregular regions and includes at least one among a second recess with a different shape from the first recesses and a second projection with a different shape from the first projections.

A hydroelectric power generation apparatus includes a hydroelectric power generation module, a supporting part, and a bar. The hydroelectric power generation module includes a rotary blade and a power generator that generates power by rotation of the rotary blade. The supporting part supports the hydroelectric power generation module. The supporting part can be installed at a water channel. The bar is connected to the supporting part to protrude from the supporting part. With one end of the bar closer to the supporting part or a portion of the supporting part serving as a center, the other end of the bar opposite to one end of the bar can be pivoted to switch a first state to a second state and vice versa.

METHOD FOR REPLACING A GENERATOR FRAME OF A WIND TURBINE

A method for replacing an existing generator frame that supports a generator of a wind turbine includes removing the generator from atop the existing generator frame. The method also includes dismounting a control cabinet of the wind turbine from the existing generator frame. More specifically, the control cabinet is electrically connected to one or more wind turbine components via a plurality of cables. The method further includes relocating and securing the control cabinet to an uptower location within a nacelle of the wind turbine with the plurality of cables remaining electrically connected. As such, the method includes removing the existing generator frame from within the nacelle. Moreover, the method includes installing a new generator frame in place of the removed existing generator frame. Thus, the method also includes remounting the control cabinet to the new generator frame.

YAW ASSEMBLY FOR A WIND TURBINE

A yaw assembly for a wind turbine may include a bushing configured for securement within a yaw cylinder containing a yaw piston and a yaw pad having a first side configured for engagement with a slew ring of the wind turbine and a second side configured for engagement with the yaw piston, a thrust stem engaged with the bushing and configured to apply force to the yaw pad against the slew ring, the thrust stem biased away from the yaw pad by one or more springs residing within the yaw piston, and an anti-rotation collar disposed at an interface between the thrust stem and the yaw piston, the anti-rotation collar including a flange extending from a bottom-center portion thereof, the flange disposed between the one or more springs and a bottom end of the yaw piston.
