METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION OF A BEVERAGE FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION, WHICH IS FILLED INTO A CONTAINER AND WHICH CONTAINS AT LEAST ONE EMPIRICAL PIECE OF AT LEAST ONE FLAVOR CARRIER
In a method for producing a beverage for human consumption which is filled into a container and which contains at least one portion of at least one flavor carrier containing an organic material and/or a material of organic origins, the flavor carrier portion is dipped in a dip solution containing water, ascorbic acid, a first group, and, if provided, a second group, namely 74% to 98% of water, 0.5% to 5% of ascorbic acid, 0.5 to 2% of the first group, and 0% to 19% of the second group, for at least 15 seconds, then combined with a liquid containing water, ascorbic acid, and, if provided, the aforementioned second group, namely 70% to 98% of water, 2% to 5% of ascorbic acid, and 0% to 25% of the second group, in the container, and the storage life of the composition is influenced thermally or by use of high-pressure pasteurization.
Hybrid ale yeast strain
The invention provides a hybrid ale strain of Saccharomyces cerevisiae and uses thereof.
Alcoholic beverage substitutes
Alcoholic beverage-substitutes such as a beer-substitute, a wine-substitute, a cider-substitute, an alcopop-substitute or a spirit-substitute beverage, comprising a base liquid (e.g., a base beverage) and a 2-aminoindan derivative such as defined by Formula I in the specification are disclosed.
Emulsion composition
An emulsion composition includes water, an oily component, gum ghatti and a modified starch. The content of the gum ghatti is 32% by mass or less and the content of the modified starch is 500 parts by mass or less relative to 100 parts by mass of the gum ghatti. The emulsion composition has excellent emulsion stability.
SPARKLING BEVERAGE HAVING EFFERVESCENCE RETAINABILITY AND METHOD FOR IMPROVING EFFERVESCENCE RETAINABILITY OF SPARKLING BEVERAGE
A sparkling beverage having effervescence retainability; and a method for improving effervescence retainability of a sparkling beverage. The sparkling beverage has a content of Reb. B of 6-45 ppm and a content of Reb. M of 600 ppm or less.

METHOD OF PROMOTING CELLULAR HYDRATION BY ENHANCING INTRACELLULAR PERMEATION
A method of promoting increased cellular hydration in a multicellular organism that is capable of intracellular water permeation includes the step of causing the multicellular organism to ingest an aqueous solution that contains an amount of a carbohydrate clathrate component. There is also a step of enhancing the intracellular permeation. The multicellular organism contains aquaporins, and the causing step involves interaction of the composition with the aquaporins. The cellular hydration promoted and caused by the method is corroborated by a test that uses human-aquaporin-expressed frog oocytes. The test uses single cell Xenopus laevis frog oocytes having expressed human aquaporin AGP1 water channels. There is also a beverage composition that increases lifespan in the multicellular organism, and a beverage composition that promotes cellular hydration when ingested by a multicellular organism.

Nutritional supplements
The present invention provides nutritional supplements comprising alginate, in combination with pectin, which will form hydrogels in the stomach when exposed to the low pH of the gastric juice. The formation of a hydrogel will lead to delayed release of sugars and other active ingredients in the stomach. The nutritional supplements can comprise high concentrations of sugars and complex carbohydrates without causing unwanted gastrointestinal symptoms.
