LOW COST SCROLL COMPRESSOR OR VACUUM PUMP
A low cost scroll device and methods of manufacturing the same are described. The scroll device includes, for example, a drive pin hole and bearing bores machined into a scroll of the scroll device from the same side as the involute of the scroll; idler shaft assemblies with no more than one bearing in the orbiting scroll for mechanically coupling the orbiting scroll to the fixed scroll; and an epoxy coating applied using a process that requires assembly of the scroll device only once.
TUBING RETENTION MECHANISM USABLE WITH A PERISTALTIC PUMP
An apparatus, method, and system for retaining tubing used in a peristaltic pump. The apparatus includes tubing retention device usable with a peristaltic pump, the tubing retention device including a movable tubing retainer having a tubing engaging portion capable of engaging with a first surface of a tube and a track portion for movably supporting the tubing retainer. At least one of the movable tubing retainer or the track portion has a surface formed of or at least partially coated with a friction reducing coating. The apparatus further comprises a second tubing engaging portion capable of engaging with a second surface of the tube and a biasing member biasing the movable tubing retainer towards the second tubing engagement portion. Engagement of the tubing retainer and the second tubing engaging portion reduces longitudinal movement of the tube.
COMPRESSOR SYSTEM WITH PURGE GAS SYSTEM
A compressor system includes a compressor having a rotor; a bearing supporting the rotor, wherein the bearing is disposed in a bearing cavity; and wherein the bearing has a near frictionless coating; and a purge gas system in fluid communication with the bearing cavity and constructed to purge air from the bearing cavity and supply the bearing cavity with the purge gas during operation of the compressor. The purge gas can be nitrogen and the near frictionless coating can be a near-frictionless diamond-like carbon coating.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS RELATED TO FLUID PUMPING
Systems for a plastic pump/actuator capable of containing and pumping organic solvents and lubricants and having a more desirable lubricity within the system. The system has at least two cylinders, with plungers therein, oppositely disposed from each other and configured to operably connect to a pump.
Lubricating coating composition and compressor including the same
A lubricating coating composition and a compressor including a sliding member coated with the lubricating coating composition. The lubricating coating composition includes a thermosetting or thermoplastic polyimide-based resin as a binder, a solid lubricant, various solvents, and other additives at a controlled ratio. The compressor includes a first member including a first sliding surface and a second member moving relative to the first member including a second sliding surface. The lubricating coating composition is applied to the first sliding surface or the second sliding surface.
Pump with wear-resistant barrel and plunger having coating support
A pumping mechanism is disclosed. The pumping mechanism may include a barrel formed of a barrel substrate and including a first end surface, a second end surface opposite the first end surface, and a bore between the first and second end surfaces. Each of the first and second end surfaces and the bore is coated with a metal plating. The pumping mechanism may further include a plunger formed of a plunger substrate and configured to be slidably disposed in the bore in barrel, the plunger substrate having a tribological coating.
PUMP CHEMICAL COMPATIBILITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Techniques for managing chemical pumps and chemical compositions are disclosed. A system may include a chemical pump that is exposed to a chemical composition during operation of the chemical pump; a chemical reservoir containing the chemical composition, the chemical reservoir including an electronically readable medium including embedded information corresponding to the chemical composition; and a database comprising chemical compatibility data between the chemical composition and the chemical pump. An application executing on a portable computing device is operable to: receive a pump identifier of the chemical pump; electronically read the electronically readable medium to obtain, based on the embedded information, a chemical identifier of the chemical composition; query the database using the chemical identifier and the pump identifier; receive, from the database, a chemical compatibility between the chemical composition and the chemical pump; and output an indication corresponding to the chemical compatibility between the chemical composition and the chemical pump.
COATING TO REDUCE COKING DEPOSITS ON STEEL PISTONS
A piston for an internal combustion engine is provided. The piston includes a coating applied to a ferrous body portion to reduce or prevent chemical bonding of carbon deposits or coking on the body portion at temperatures ranging from 200 to 400 C. The coating includes a fluoropolymer, such as polytetrafluoroethylene, fluorosilane, fluorocarbon, fluoroplastic resin, and/or perfluoroplastic, and may be hydrocarbon or silicone based. The coating also has a thickness of 25 microns to 1 millimeter. The coating can be disposed on an undercrown surface, ring grooves, ring lands, pin bosses, and/or skirt sections of the body portion.
SHAFT SEAL WITH HELICAL SEALING LIP
A seal includes an annular body defining an opening for a shaft. At least one sealing lip is connected to an inner wall of the body and projects inwardly toward a central axis. The one or more sealing lips each include an outer edge connected to the inner wall of the body and an inner edge that is spaced inwardly toward the central axis. Each sealing lip extends helically about the central axis. If multiple sealing lips are provided, each extends helically about the central axis with the same orientation but they are axially offset with respect to each other. One or more helically extending lubricant channels are defined by the helical sealing lip(s) and pump lubricant inwardly upon relative rotation between the seal and shaft. An optional debris lip is located between the flexible sealing lip(s) and the front face of the seal body to inhibit ingress of contaminants.
Scroll pump having a biasing apparatus for axially movable fixed and orbiting scrolls against each other via first and second pads that formed material from fixed and orbiting scrolls
A scroll pump (100, 200) comprising a first scroll comprising a first spiral wall (124, 224); a second scroll comprising a second spiral wall (134, 234), the second spiral wall being intermeshed with the first spiral wall; and a pad (180, 280) formed from a different material to the first and second scrolls, the pad being located between the first and second scrolls radially inwards or outwards of the first and second spiral walls.
