RESIN MEMBER
A resin member capable of inhibiting generation of particles due to repeated bending thereof is provided. A rolling diaphragm 5 composed of a resin member has one surface formed as a liquid contact surface 37a, repeatedly bends when used, and has flexibility. A surface roughness of the liquid contact surface 37a at a portion 371 that bends is less than 0.40 μm as an arithmetic average roughness, and a total light reflectance of the liquid contact surface 37a at the portion 371 that bends is not less than 2.0%.
SMART DRILLING MOTOR STATOR

A stator elastomer layer is located within the central stator bore, lining a wall of the central stator bore. The stator elastomer layer has an elastomer bore that includes a plurality of stator lobes extending in a helical pattern along an axial length of the central bore. A rotor is located within the elastomer bore, the rotor being an elongated member that includes a plurality of rotor lobes extending in a helical pattern along an axial length of the rotor. The stator elastomer layer includes a failure detection system, the failure detection system operable to identify a region of damaged stator elastomer layer.
Stator Compound Having an Azide Cured Elastomeric Base and Stators and Downhole Motors Using the Same
A rubber compound including an azide cured elastomeric base, wherein the rubber compound is used to form an elastomeric component of a downhole tool. The rubber compound is comprised of at least one elastomeric component and at least one diazide curing agent.
Hybrid pump bearing for contamination resistance
A bearing carrier is provided. The bearing carrier including: a bearing body of a first material having a shaft-receiving aperture and a bridge land with a finger cut to channel fluid pressurized by intermeshing of gears rotatably supported by the bearing carrier into an outlet defined by a housing enveloping the bearing carrier, wherein the bearing body includes a bearing face configured to be in a facing spaced relationship with the gears, wherein the bearing face includes a second material integral with the first material, wherein at least one of the first material and the second material define a portion of the bearing face of the bearing body extending about the shaft-receiving aperture, the portion of the bearing face excluding the bridgeland.
Austempered grey iron scroll and method of making thereof
A scroll compressor includes scroll members that are made of austempered grey iron in whole or in part. The austempering process can increases fatigue strength and toughness of a grey iron while maintaining its good machinability and vibration damping characteristics. Use of austempered grey iron scroll members allows the scroll compressor to improve its capacity, efficiency, and durability.
COMPRESSOR AND REFRIGERATION CYCLE APPARATUS
A compressor includes: a shell; a compressing mechanism provided in the shell, and having a compression chamber where refrigerant is compressed and a discharge port from which the refrigerant compressed in the compression chamber is discharged; and a discharge-valve mechanism provided in a discharge chamber provided between the shell and the compressing mechanism. The discharge-valve mechanism opens and closes the discharge port. The discharge-valve mechanism includes: a valve seat attached to the compressing mechanism and having a valve-seat hole communicating with the discharge port; and a reed valve having a fixed end attached to the compressing mechanism and a distal end as a free end. The reed valve closes the valve seat when the reed valve is located on the valve seat. The valve seat is formed of material having a longitudinal elastic modulus lower than a longitudinal elastic modulus of the compressing mechanism.
SCROLL COMPRESSOR
A scroll compressor includes a shaft being rotated by a drive source, an eccentric bush including a recess part into which the shaft is inserted and an eccentric part being eccentric to the shaft, an orbiting scroll configured to perform an orbiting motion in interlock with the eccentric part, a fixed scroll tooth-engaged with the orbiting scroll, and a buffer member configured to prevent an outer periphery of the shaft and an inner periphery of the recess part from coming in contact with each other, wherein the buffer member is formed to be able to perform a relative motion with respect to the shaft and the recess part. Accordingly, the scrolls are prevented from being damaged, an impact sound is prevented from being generated, and an increase of an inertial force and an unbalance force of a rotating body is suppressed.
Graphene enhanced elastomeric stator
An enhanced elastomeric stator assembly and method of making the same is disclosed. The elastomeric stator may be structurally, thermally, and/or chemically enhanced through the incorporation of graphene particles, cross-linkable polymers, coupling agents that extend cross-links, and by the reduction of filler material. The graphene particles can be incorporated in functionalized or non-functionalized form or in a combination thereof, the functionalized graphene increasing the number of cross-links in the overall structure, thereby enhancing the structural robustness of the elastomeric stator. The compound can be formulated to have a relatively low viscosity and other characteristics that allow the material to flow through a mould cavity.
Variable Displacement Pump
A variable displacement pump is provided which better distributes stress across the rotor structure thereby reducing the risk of the rotor cracking and/or failing. The variable displacement pump includes a housing, a vane control ring, a rotor, a plurality of vanes, a slider ring, a biasing means, and a regulator valve. The housing defines an inlet port and a discharge port. The rotor may be rotationally driven by a drive shaft and coaxially aligned with the drive shaft. The rotor may define a plurality of primary ribs and a plurality of corresponding secondary ribs with an aperture defined between each primary rib and secondary rib. Each primary rib defines a primary rib thickness and each secondary rib defines a secondary rib thickness which is less than the primary rib thickness.
Coatings for fluid energy device components
A coated component for use in a fluid energy device includes a coating system with multiple layers of coating material, including a soft material such as a polymer coated over a hard material such as a metal. The fluid energy device can be a fluid motor or fluid pump, and the coated component can be a rotor or a stator. The hard and soft materials may be interlocked with each other and/or with an interposed porous layer. The presence of the soft material can reduce or eliminate the need for meticulous polishing operations typically required with as-applied hard materials while improving the longevity of mating fluid energy device components. The mating components are exposed only to the soft material in the initial stages of operation, after which the soft material wears away to gradually expose the mating components to the hard material in a less abrasive manner.
