Compressor having sound isolation feature
Scroll compressor designs are provided to minimize vibration, sound, and noise transmission. The scroll compressor has a bearing housing, and orbiting and non-orbiting scroll members. The non-orbiting scroll member has a radially extending flanged portion with at least one aperture substantially aligned with the axially extending bore. At least one fastener is disposed within the aperture and the bore. A sound isolation member contacts at least one of the non-orbiting scroll member, the fastener, or the bearing housing, to reduce or eliminate noise transmission. The sound isolation member may be formed of a polymeric composite having an acoustic impedance value greater than the surrounding materials. The sound isolation member may be an annular washer, an O-ring, or a biasing member, by way of non-limiting example. In other variations, fluid passages are provided within the fastener and/or bearing housing to facilitate entry of lubricant oil to further dampen sound and noise.

Fiber-reinforced rubber compound useful in PDM stators
A rubber compound for use in a stator. The stator may be deployed in a positive displacement motor. The rubber compound includes a fiber reinforcement, wherein fibers in the fiber reinforcement create a grain direction in which with the grain is generally orthogonal to across the grain. In some embodiments, the rubber compound has a first value for 25% tensile Modulus across the grain and a second value for 25% tensile Modulus with the grain, wherein the first value is at least 10% lower than the second value. In such embodiments, the fiber reinforcement may further include a fiber loading of greater than 1.0 phr of fibers. In such embodiments, the rubber compound may further have a 25% tensile Modulus of greater than 400 psi across the grain and a 50% tensile Modulus of greater than 700 psi across the grain.
Non-Metallic Vertical Turbine Pump
A turbine pump and a method of manufacturing same are provided. In accordance with one embodiment, the turbine pump can include a casing with a diffuser including a diffuser hub and diffuser vanes that project out from the diffuser hub, and an impeller configured to rotatably fit inside the casing, having an impeller hub, impeller vanes, extending from the hub, and a front and a back shroud connected to opposing ends of the impeller vanes. At least one of the impeller and the diffuser can be made of a nonmetallic material and is a singular homogenous component.
Adjustable deforming composite structure based on hydrogen-induced expansion effect and preparation method therefor
An adjustable deforming composite structure based on a hydrogen-induced expansion effect and a preparation method therefor are provided. The hydrogen-induced expansion effect means metals absorb hydrogen under a hydrogen-containing atmosphere and at a temperature to produce a volume expansion effect. Reactions between the metals and hydrogen are reversible reactions. When a hydrogen partial pressure is reduced or the temperature is increased, the hydrogen in the metals is removed, and the metals are restored to an original shape. Under a stimulation of external hydrogen and heat, a composite of a hydrogen-absorbing metal and other non-hydrogen-absorbing materials undergo an adjustable deformation according to a design, and a material undergoes reversible shape changes. The preparation method is applied to composite materials for a 4D printing and is used for an intelligent shape adjustment at a medium to high temperature.
Diaphragm pump, ink supply system, and inkjet printer
A diaphragm pump includes a pump chamber, a diaphragm, and a diaphragm deformer. The pump chamber is box-shaped and includes at least an inlet opening, an outlet opening, and a diaphragm attaching opening. The pump chamber is provided with an inner space. A diaphragm is made of an elastically deformable material, and is provided in the pump chamber so as to cover the diaphragm attaching opening. The diaphragm deformer elastically deforms the diaphragm to change a capacity of the inner space. The outlet opening is located at a highest position in the inner space of the pump chamber.
RUBBER COMPOUND WITH FIBER REINFORCEMENT
A rubber compound for use in a stator. The rubber compound includes a fiber reinforcement, which may include fibrillated fibers in some embodiments, and short chop fibers in others. Fibers in the fiber reinforcement create a grain direction. In some embodiments, the rubber compound has a first value for 25% tensile Modulus across the grain and a second value for 25% tensile Modulus with the grain, wherein the first value is at least 10% lower than the second value. In embodiments, the fiber reinforcement may include a fiber loading of greater than 1.0 phr of fibers. In embodiments, the rubber compound may have a 25% tensile Modulus of greater than 400 psi across the grain and a 50% tensile Modulus of greater than 700 psi across the grain. In embodiments, at least some of the fibers may have a Modulus greater than 2.0 GPa.

A compressor includes a motor, a compression mechanism portion driven by the motor, and a rotation shaft connecting the motor and the compression mechanism portion. At least a part of the rotation shaft is composed of a material having a higher Young's modulus than that of cast iron, and having a higher thermal conductivity than that of cast iron.

In general, techniques are described for fused filament fabrication of abradable coatings. An additive manufacturing system comprising a substrate defining a major surface, a filament delivery device, and a computing device may be configured to perform various aspects of the techniques. The computing device may be configured to control the filament delivery device to deposit a filament on the substrate, the filament including a powder and a binder, wherein the binder is configured to be substantially removed from the filament and the powder includes a metal or alloy configured to be sintered to form an abradable layer.
