Device and assembly for cleaning the core engine of a jet engine
A device cleans a core engine of a jet engine. The device has: a nozzle installation configured to introduce a cleaning medium into the core engine; a connector configured to connect the device in a rotationally fixed manner to a shaft of a fan of the jet engine; and a line connection configured to supply the cleaning medium, the line connection being connected to the nozzle installation by a rotary coupling. The nozzle installation has first contact faces configured to bear axially on fan blades of the fan, the first contact faces being configured for defined positioning of the nozzle installation relative to the jet engine.
TURBINE BLADE HEALTH MONITORING SYSTEM FOR IDENTIFYING CRACKS
A method of determining the location and size of a crack in a blade includes measuring a time of arrival of a tip of the blade at an angular position in a rotation, using the time of arrival to calculate a displacement of the tip of the blade, and using the displacements to calculate a first vibration condition and a second vibration condition for the blade. The method also includes comparing the first vibration condition and the second vibration condition for the blade to a predetermined baseline first vibration condition and a predetermined baseline second vibration condition for the blade to determine a change in the first vibration condition and a change in the second vibration condition, and using the magnitude of the change in the second vibration condition relative to the change in the first vibration condition to determine the likely location of the crack and using the magnitude of the change in the first vibration condition and the change in the second vibration condition to determine the size of the crack.
Systems and method for use in servicing a machine
A system for use in servicing a machine. The system includes a tubular body including a longitudinal axis, a tip end, a dispensing nozzle defined at the tip end, and an interior channel in flow communication with the dispensing nozzle. The tubular body is configured to be flexible. An actuator is configured to selectively modify an orientation of the tubular body, and a reservoir is in flow communication with the interior channel. The reservoir is configured to supply a maintenance fluid to the tubular body for discharge from the dispensing nozzle.
Impingement insert for a gas turbine engine
The present disclosure is directed to a turbomachine that includes a hot gas path component having an inner surface and defining a hot gas path component cavity. An impingement insert is positioned within the hot gas path component cavity. The impingement insert includes an inner surface and an outer surface and defines an impingement insert cavity and a plurality of impingement apertures fluidly coupling the impingement insert cavity and the hot gas path component cavity. A plurality of pins extends from the outer surface of the impingement insert to the inner surface of the hot gas path component.
COMPRESSOR MODULE FOR TURBOMACHINE
A turbomachine compressor module comprising an annular array of struts provided with pivotable flaps. The struts can define inter-strut spaces between two circumferentially adjacent struts, and variably oriented stator vanes are disposed at least partially in the inter-strut spaces. Also, a turbomachine having such a module and a row of rotor blades directly downstream of the module.
Hybrid turbine blade for improved engine performance or architecture
A blade has an attachment root and an airfoil, the airfoil having a proximal end and a distal end. The blade has a compositional variation along the airfoil.
Machine for the generation of energy by exploiting the flow of fluid
A machine for generating energy by exploiting the flow of a fluid. The machine includes a first fixed or static component part or stator which defines a first cylindrical inner surface and a second outer surface. The machine further includes a second component part or rotor configured to be rotated and accommodated in the inner space confined by the first cylindrical inner surface. The first fixed or static component part or stator is configured to introduce a fluid into the inner space confined by the first inner surface through the second outer surface and first inner surface of the stator, such that the interaction between the flow of fluid introduced into the inner space and the second component part or rotor results in the second component part or rotor being rotated.
SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING THE CYCLIC SETTING OF BLADES
The invention describes a system for controlling the cyclic setting of blades (1) of a turbine engine propeller, the blades (1) being arranged in a plane normal to the axis of rotation (r) of the propeller, the system comprising: —a plate assembly (40) that can be tilted relative to the normal plane (P), —an articulation system (50) articulating the plate assembly (40) relative to the blades (1) such that tilting the plate assembly (40) modifies the setting of the blades (1), —a force sensor (5) designed to measure a force applied in the normal plane (P) by an air flow at the inlet of the propeller blades (1), —a cylinder (60) suitable for tilting the plate assembly (40) in response to a force measured by the force sensor (5).
