The second circuitry is configured to generate an irreversible electroporation (IRE) signal for producing a lesion in the tissue. The one or more devices are configured to apply to the tissue, the stress signal at a first time interval, and the IRE signal at a second time interval, subsequent to the first time interval.

Positioning device for positioning a light-conducting fibre in a calibration port

The invention relates to a positioning apparatus (100) for positioning a light-guiding fiber (206) in a calibration port (208) of a medical apparatus (202) comprising at least one light source (204) for the light-guiding fiber (206), wherein the positioning apparatus (100) comprises an elongate body (102) with two end faces (110, 112) and at least one side face (116). A channel (104) for receiving the light-guiding fiber (206) is formed in the body (102), said channel extending along a longitudinal axis of the body (102) proceeding from a first end face (110). Here, according to the invention, provision is made for the body (102), at least in one portion, to consist of an opaque material in the region of the channel (104) and/or to be coated with an opaque material and for said body to have at least one cutout (113, 118), which extends from a side face (116) and/or the second end face (112) of the body (102) to the channel (104) such that radiation emitted by the light-guiding fiber (206) can only emerge from the positioning apparatus (100) in unimpeded fashion through the at least one cutout (113, 118).

Photobiomodulation therapy to reduce the effects of fibromyalgia

Photobiomodulation therapy (PBMT) can be applied to a tender area on a subject's body to treat fibromyalgia. A light source device can be contacted to a subject's skin proximal to a tender area on the subject's body. A light signal (with wavelengths from the red to infrared part of the spectrum) can be applied in at least one of a pulsed operating mode, a continuous operating mode, and a super-pulsed operating mode through the light source device to the tender area. The light signal is applied for a time sufficient to stimulate a phototherapeutic response in the tender area to treat fibromyalgia.

Transdermal optogenetic peripheral nerve stimulation

A nerve in a mammal is optogenetically transduced, wherein the nerve is susceptible to stimulus by selective application of transdermal light, and a light source is applied to dermis of the mammal at or proximate to the optogenetically transduced nerve, to thereby stimulate the nerve. A wearable device for optogenetic motor control and sensation restoration of a mammal includes a wearable support, a power source at the wearable support, a controller at the wearable support and in electrical communication with a power source, and a transdermal light source coupled to the controller.

LASER-ASSISTED ORAL SURGERY SYSTEM

Periodontal disorders such as disorders associated with a dental implant are treated. An average power for a laser is selected via a user interface on a tablet, along with a set of permissible laser parameters provided in response to the selected average power. A gingival trough or flap is created around the implant with the laser. Infected tissue is selectively ablated or denatured via photothermolysis, and a pocket is lased around the affected implant. Marginal tissues are compressed against the implant.

Systems and methods for thermal therapy
11583338 · 2023-02-21 · ·

The present invention is directed to systems and methods for thermal therapy, especially to detection-guided, -controlled, and temperature-modulated interstitial thermal therapy. Thermal therapy may be used to treat the tissues of a patient. In the case of interstitial thermal therapy, energy is applied to generate heating of the tissue to affect treatment, such as, for example, thermally inducing tissue damage (e.g. thermally-induced tissue necrosis), which may be useful in treating tumors and/or other diseased tissues. Since targets for thermal therapy are internal to the patient, the use of detection guidance may be useful in locating and monitoring treatment of a target tissue.
