Acoustic System for Determining the Temperature of a Supercritical Fluid in a Conduit
A system for determining the temperature of a supercritical fluid that involves determining the speed of sound in the supercritical fluid.
IMPROVED GAS TURBINE ENGINE
A gas turbine engine for an aircraft comprises, in axial flow sequence, a compressor module, a combustor module, and a turbine module, with a first electric machine being rotationally connected to the turbine module. The first electrical machine is configured to generate a maximum electrical power P.sub.EM1 (W), and the gas turbine engine is configured to generate a maximum shaft power P.sub.SHAFT (W); and a ratio R of:
is in a range of between 0.005 and 0.020.
Turbine engine exhaust duct system and methods for noise dampening and attenuation
A mobile fracking system and methods may include a gas turbine housed at least partially inside a trailer and an exhaust attenuation system configured to receive exhaust gas from the gas turbine. The exhaust attenuation system may include a lower elongated plenum configured to receive exhaust gas from the gas turbine and an upper noise attenuation system that is movably connected relative to a distal end of the lower elongated plenum.
Gas turbine compressor inlet pressurization and flow control system
A supercharging system for a gas turbine system is provided supercharging system having a fan mechanically coupled to the turbine shaft of the turbine system. A bypass subsystem is provided or optionally conveying a portion of the airstream output to other uses. The supercharging system may also be used in conjunction with a combined cycle power system and a bypass subsystem optionally conveys a portion of the airstream output to a heat recovery steam generator.
Engine
The present disclosure relates to an engine having two modes of operation—air breathing and rocket—that may be used in aerospace applications such as in an aircraft, flying machine, or aerospace vehicle. The engine's efficiency can be maximized by using a precooler arrangement to cool intake air in air breathing mode using cold fuel delivery systems used for the rocket mode. By introducing the precooler and certain other engine cycle components, and arranging and operating them as described, problems such as those associated with higher fuel and weight requirements and frost formation can be alleviated.
Air Powered Engine Assembly
An air powered engine assembly for improving efficiency includes a housing, which has an axle rotationally engaged thereto and extending through a front and a rear thereof. A turbine and a cam are engaged to the axle and positioned within the housing proximate to the front and the rear, respectively. The cam is bilobal. A plate engaged to the housing defines a chamber therein. The plate has a plurality of apertures positioned therein. Each of a set of reciprocating compressors is engaged to the housing and is fluidically engaged to the chamber. The reciprocating compressor comprises a piston rotationally engaged to an arm, which is rotationally engaged the housing. The reciprocating compressor forces air through the apertures to turn the turbine to rotate the axle. The cam is rotated to selectively engage alternatingly positioned arms as the axle rotates to actuate associated reciprocating compressors.
TURBINE WASTEWATER EVAPORATION SYSTEM
A method and system of wastewater evaporation uses a turbine-based wastewater evaporation system to convert wastewater to steam. The wastewater evaporation system includes a wastewater heating track disposed in the interior of the exhaust collector of the turbine in the flow path of turbine exhaust. The wastewater fluidly communicated therethrough is heated by the turbine exhaust and fluidly communicated to a plurality of atomization nozzles. The plurality of atomization nozzles direct atomized wastewater into the interior of the exhaust port of the turbine that is converted to steam in the presence of turbine exhaust within the exhaust port. The system may be disposed on a mobile trailer or skid to facilitate disposing the system on a job site and may be remotely controllable by a remote operator.
METHOD FOR REGULATING THE TEMPERATURE OF THE EXHAUST GASES OF A TURBOMACHINE
A method for regulating the temperature of the exhaust gases of a turbomachine, the method including regulation of the injection of fuel into a combustion chamber of the turbomachine so that the turbomachine generates a target thrust; regulation of the injection of mechanical power by an electric motor onto a shaft driven in rotation by a turbine, the electric motor being activated when a clearance between a casing and the blades of the turbine exceeds a threshold value.
Impeller attach mechanism
An impeller attach mechanism for a turbocharger including a stud extending from a central bore of a compressor impeller toward a turbine wheel, the stud having a first threaded region and a second threaded region; a shaft coupled to the turbine wheel and extending toward the compressor impeller, the shaft having a leading portion, the leading portion having a threaded interior configured to engage the second threaded region of the stud; and an insert having an internal portion and an external portion, the internal portion having a threaded external surface to engage the compressor impeller, the internal portion having a threaded internal surface to engage the first threaded region of the stud, the external portion configured to surround the leading portion of the shaft.
