Method for repairing an airfoil surface having an elastomeric protective coating
This invention relates to the repair and removal of erosion or impact damage with a liquid repair material using a flexible applicator capable of conforming to the surface of the leading edge of the airfoil while being drawn lengthwise along the airfoil surface of a helicopter or wind turbine rotor blade thereby restoring the aerodynamic contour with or without the addition of an optional topcoat layer.
Gas turbine component
A gas turbine component for a gas turbine is provided. The gas turbine component has a shell portion having an abradable portion (2) to allow rotor blade ends (1) of a rotor blade array of the gas turbine to rub into the same. The abradable portion adjoins a neighboring portion (3) of the shell portion axially at both sides and is additively manufactured together therewith.
COMPONENT FOR A TURBINE ENGINE WITH A FILM HOLE
An apparatus and method relating to a film hole of a component of a turbine engine comprising including forming the hole in the component and applying a coating to the component such that the coating fills in portions of the film hole.
AIRFOIL MACHINING
Disclosed is a method for machining a component, comprising: installing the component on a fixture, causing a medium of the fixture to solidify to encase a first portion of the component, applying a toolset to a second portion of the component that is outside of the solidified medium, and subsequent to applying the toolset, extracting the component from the fixture when the medium is in one of a liquid state or a semi-liquid state, where the medium has a melting-point temperature that is less than 500 degrees Fahrenheit. Disclosed is a fixture for machining a component, comprising: a medium configured to encase a first portion of the component when the medium is in a solidified state, and a toolset configured to be applied to a second portion of the component that is outside of the solidified medium, the medium having a melting-point temperature that is less than 500 degrees Fahrenheit.
TURBOMACHINE OUTPUT BEARING SUPPORT
Turbomachine output bearing support extending according to an axial direction, said support being formed by one and the same piece and comprising an annular inner wall having an inner side and an outer side, an annular outer wall and a twist support.
COMPOSITE FAN BLADE
A blade fabrication method is provided and includes additively manufacturing a core, securing the core to a mandrel, electroforming a leading edge sheath directly onto the core and the mandrel and removing the mandrel from the core and the leading edge sheath.
DYNAMIC SEAL FOR A TURBOMACHINE COMPRISING A MULTI-LAYER ABRADABLE PART
A dynamic seal for a turbomachine, including a fixed portion provided with at least one abradable wear part and a movable portion including at least one lip arranged to interact with the at least one wear part during the rotation of the movable portion. The wear part includes a structure forming cavities arranged in one or more series such that, in each series, the cavities of this series are superposed radially with respect to the central axis, the structure being configured to limit or prevent the circulation of gas between each pair of radially adjacent cavities. A method for the additive manufacture of the fixed portion of this dynamic seal is also described.
COATED ARTICLE FOR HOT HYDROCARBON FLUID AND METHOD OF PREVENTING FUEL THERMAL DEGRADATION DEPOSITS
A hydrocarbon fluid containment article having a wall with a surface that is wetted by hydrocarbon fluid. The surface includes an anti-coking coating. The anti-coking coating includes a copper salt, a silver salt, or a combination thereof. A gas turbine engine component including a wall having a first surface and an anti-coking coating on the first surface of the wall that is wetted by hydrocarbon fluid. The anti-coking coating including a copper salt, a silver salt, or a combination thereof that prevents the formation of gum or coke on a surface thereon. Methods for reducing the deposition of thermal decomposition products on a wall of an article are also provided.
Fuel injectors and methods of making fuel injectors
A fuel conduit for a fuel injector includes a coiled tube with a longitudinal segment arranged along a flow axis and a radial segment. The radial segment extends about the flow axis and is in fluid communication with the longitudinal segment. The wall one or more of the longitudinal and radial segments increases at a thickness transition location offset from a minimum radius of curvature location along the fuel conduit to limit stress within the fuel conduit. Fuel injectors and methods of making fuel injectors are also described.
Blade for a turbine blade
A blade for a turbine blade includes a suction-side side wall and a pressure-side side wall that enclose a cavity at least partially in a manner which extends along a profile centre line from a common front edge to a common rear edge and in a span width direction from a root-side end to a tip-side end. A first perforated impingement cooling wall which is provided with openings for the impingement cooling of the front edge and at least one further perforated impingement cooling wall for the impingement cooling of a section of the suction-side and/or pressure-side side wall are provided in the interior along the span width. The impingement cooling openings of the first impingement cooling wall and the at least one second impingement cooling wall are connected in series in terms of flow.
