MODIFIED OIL PUMP FOR USE IN NON-OIL TRANSPORT
The disclosed invention improves on self-priming centrifugal pumps. The improvements facilitate ease of maintenance by allowing the vacuum pulley belt to be changed without the need to disassemble the centrifugal pump to access the vacuum pulley belt. Additionally, issues with float valves becoming restricted leading to loss of prime conditions can be corrected with a disclosed invention.
SYSTEM AND METHOD OF ADJUSTING A TOOL
The present disclosure relates to a system and method for adjusting a tool with a plurality of segments for inserting into a cavity of a machine. The method includes determining an initial alignment measurement of at least a portion of the tool; comparing the initial alignment measurement to a target alignment measurement to determine an adjustment amount; and adjusting at least one of the plurality of segments based on the adjustment amount. The tool includes a plurality of segments moveably coupled, where one or more of the plurality of segments comprises a unique dimensional measurement affecting a fit tolerance.
Fan blade spacer
The present disclosure relates generally to a fan blade spacer including a conduit disposed within a fan blade spacer composed of an elastically deformable material.
Inspection and repair tool
A method for inspecting and repairing a surface of a component of a gas turbine engine, the method including: inserting an inspection and repair tool into an interior of the gas turbine engine; inspecting the surface of the component with the inspection and repair tool; performing a repair of the surface of the component with the inspection and repair tool from within the interior of the gas turbine engine, the inspection and repair tool remaining within the interior of the gas turbine engine between inspecting the component and performing the repair of the surface of the component.
NACELLE FOR A PROPULSION ASSEMBLY WITH A VERY HIGH BYPASS RATIO, COMPRISING A REMOVABLE AND STRUCTURAL FRONT INTERNAL STRUCTURE
A nacelle for a propulsion assembly, the nacelle including a front internal structure having a framework formed of longitudinal beams and including removable, dismountable or retractable panels which are provided to facilitate the access for maintenance to the parts of the motor shrouded by these panels.
ASSEMBLY FOR AN AIRCRAFT PROPULSION SYSTEM COMPRISING A HINGED STRUCTURE SUPPORTING THE FAN COWL AND THE THRUST REVERSER
An assembly includes a structure with 6 o'clock and 12 o'clock beams and front and rear curved beams, in which the 12 o'clock beam is mounted to be able to rotate on a pylon of an aircraft between a closed position and a raised position, a fan cowl fixed to the structure, a thrust reverser with a rear cowl and that is able to move in translation along the 6 o'clock and 12 o'clock beams between a forward position and a backward position, cascades fixed to the thrust reverser, and a mover for moving the thrust reverser. With such an arrangement, the fan cowl and the thrust reverser are fixed to the same structure, and it is this structure that is hinged to the pylon.
Inflatable device with guiding mechanism for effective engine cleaning
An inflatable device equipped with a guiding mechanism and methods of installing the inflatable device to form a temporary barrier within a gas turbine engine are provided. In one aspect, an inflatable device includes a backbone and an inflatable bladder connected thereto. The backbone is formed of a flexible and inextensible material. The inflatable bladder is formed of an expandable material. To install the inflatable device within an annular chamber of a gas turbine engine, the backbone is inserted into a first access port of the engine and is moved circumferentially around the annulus of the chamber. The backbone is retrieved through a second access port. The inflatable bladder is moved into position within the chamber by pushing the backbone into the first access port and/or pulling the backbone out of the second access port. When positioned in place, the inflatable bladder is inflated to form an annular seal.
Gas turbine engine with clutch system between low-pressure compressor and low-pressure turbine
A gas turbine engine having: an engine core having, in serial flow communication, a low-pressure compressor, a high-pressure compressor, a high-pressure turbine drivingly connected to the high-pressure compressor, and a low-pressure turbine drivingly connected to an output shaft; and a clutch having a disengaged configuration in which the low-pressure turbine is drivingly disconnected from the low-pressure compressor such that, in the disengaged configuration, the clutch disengages the low-pressure turbine from the low-pressure compressor, and an engaged configuration in which the low-pressure turbine is drivingly connected to the low-pressure compressor, the low-pressure turbine drivingly connected to the output shaft in both of the engaged and disengaged configurations of the clutch.
AIRCRAFT ENGINE REPAIR TOOL AND METHOD FOR REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION OF A MID TURBINE FRAME IN AN AIRCRAFT ENGINE
An aircraft engine repair tool for installing and/or removing a mid turbine frame from a gas turbine engine is provided. The tool includes a stabilizer configured to support a shaft via a load path different from a load path provided by the mid turbine frame rotatably supporting the shaft about a rotation axis. The tool includes a holder attachable to the mid turbine frame, and a guide movably engageable with the shaft and attachable to the holder. The guide guides movement of the holder and of the mid turbine frame relative to the shaft along the rotation axis, and prevents movement of the holder and the mid turbine frame relative to the shaft transverse to the rotation axis when the mid turbine frame is released from the support structure and attached to the holder, and when the holder is attached to the guide.
Repair tool for turbomachinery and related method
A guide system for repairing turbomachinery includes a housing; a guide tube have a hollow interior for accepting a working tool module; an axial motor for moving the guide tube axially with respect to the housing; a rotational motor for rotating the guide tube with respect to the housing; and an attachment for securing the housing with respect to a turbomachinery casing. A repair kit and method are also provided.
