SHIELD FOR ARRANGING BETWEEN A BEARING AND A ROTATING SEAL ELEMENT
An assembly is provided that includes a shaft, a bearing, a stator seal element, a rotor seal element and a shield. The shaft extends along an axis. The bearing supports the shaft and receives lubrication fluid. The stator seal element circumscribes the shaft. The rotor seal element is mounted on the shaft axially between the bearing and the stator seal element. The rotor seal element forms a seal with the stator seal element. The shield substantially prevents the lubrication fluid from traveling axially away from the bearing onto the rotor seal element.
PLANETARY GEAR DEVICE WITH AN OIL SUPPLY APPLIANCE, GAS TURBINE ENGINE WITH A PLANETARY GEAR DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A VANE PUMP

The planetary gearbox device includes an oil supply appliance, wherein the oil supply appliance has a ring-shaped scoop pump that is connected to the rotatable shaft of the planetary gearbox device and an oil supply fixedly arranged at the housing and by which oil is supplied to the scoop pump. The scoop pump has multiple blades that extend in a circumferentially arranged manner and extend from a radially outer area in the direction of a radially inner area. The blades delimit grooves extending in the circumferential direction in the radial direction and respectively form a groove base of the grooves. The oil is conducted from the oil supply to outlets via which oil is conducted out of the scoop pump in the radial direction outwards.
SHAFT SEAL INCLUDING AN UPSTREAM NON-CONTACT PART
A rotary machine includes a stationary housing, a rotor, a shaft, a bearing unit, and a sealing arrangement to seal the bearing unit with respect to the rotor. The sealing arrangement includes a stationary sealing element surrounding the shaft. The sealing arrangement includes a rotor ring to prevent an axial flow along the shaft to the rotor and a cover plate, the rotor ring rotationally fixedly connected to the rotor and arranged axially adjacent to the sealing element, the rotor ring including a radially outer edge extending in the axial direction and surrounding the sealing element. The cover plate is fixed with respect to the housing and surrounding the rotor ring, and has an outer rim, a drain chamber formed between the outer edge of the rotor ring and the outer rim of the cover plate, and a discharge passage to discharge the drain chamber.
TURBOCHARGER
A turbocharge includes: a compressor wheel; a turbine wheel configured to rotate with the compressor wheel; a turbine housing disposed so as to cover the turbine wheel; a bearing supporting a rotational shaft of the turbine wheel rotatably; and a bearing housing accommodating the bearing. One of the turbine housing or the bearing housing includes a fin portion protruding toward the other one of the turbine housing or the bearing housing so as to extend along an axial direction of the rotational shaft, and, between the turbine housing and the bearing housing, a cavity is formed on each side of the fin portion with respect to a radial direction of the rotational shaft.
TURBOCHARGER
A turbocharger includes a bearing housing, a compressor housing connected to the bearing housing via a seal plate, a compressor impeller, a diffuser passage, a diffuser surface, and a cooling passage. The bearing housing has a first facing surface, and a first extending surface that is formed continuously with the first facing surface. The seal plate has a second facing surface that faces the first facing surface, and a second extending surface that is formed continuously with the second facing surface. The second extending surface faces the first extending surface in a radial direction of the impeller shaft. The cooling passage is defined by the first facing surface, the first extending surface, the second facing surface, and the second extending surface.
SPRING WASHER FOR TURBO CHARGER
The present invention provides a spring washer for a turbocharger including a stopper part formed at an inner periphery there and a line contact part formed at an outer periphery thereof, thus to prevent a spring repulsive force from being exerted thereto more than necessary even when exerting excessive compression and continuous compression force from peripheral parts, and prevent an inclination bent section from being flattened, thereby maintaining or improving restoring characteristics of the inclination bent section. The ring-shaped spring washer installed in a bypass valve of a turbocharger includes: an inner periphery having a stopper part fixed to a lower surface thereof with being overlapped therewith; an inclination bent section integrally formed with the inner periphery with being inclined downward; and an outer periphery having a line contact part integrally formed with the inclination bent section to be in line contact with a support of the spring washer.
Recirculation Stall in Compressor Insert or Backplate
In a turbocharger for receiving exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine and for delivering compressed air to the internal combustion engine, a backplate may include a lubricant stall protrusion, such as a rib, may be placed in recirculation or collection recesses of the backplate to stall recirculating lubricant flow and direct the lubricant into a bearing housing lubricant core and drain to reduce an amount of lubricant proximate piston rings and leaking into a compressor housing of the turbocharger. When an lubricant deflector is used, the lubricant stall protrusion stalls recirculating lubricant that is outboard of the lubricant deflector, and may have an outer protrusion edge closely matching the outboard contour of the lubricant deflector to minimize a flow gap there between.
LUBRICANT SCOOP
A lubricant scoop is disclosed. The lubricant scoop includes an annular body configured for engagement with a shaft rotating about a central axis. The annular body includes a first annular portion and a second annular portion disposed adjacent the first annular portion. The first annular portion includes a radially oriented entrance surface and a first axially oriented transition surface. The second annular portion includes a second axially oriented transition surface, a primary redirection member spaced radially outward from the second axially oriented transition surface, a radially oriented exit surface and an exit conduit having an opening positioned on the radially oriented exit surface.
