SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR STRUCTURAL ANALYSIS FOR INSPECTED BLADED ROTORS
A method can comprise: performing a finite element static analysis of an inspected blade of an inspected bladed rotor, the inspected blade having a repair blend profile modeled thereon, the repair blend profile exceeding a threshold repair size; performing a finite element modal analysis of the inspected blade having the repair blend profile; performing a fatigue assessment based on results from the finite element static analysis and the finite element modal analysis, the fatigue assessment including limits based on material properties of the inspected blade, the material properties based on test results at a threshold significance level; and repairing the inspected bladed rotor with the repair blend profile in response to the fatigue assessment meeting a deterministic criteria.
INTEGRALLY BLADED ROTOR ANALYSIS AND REPAIR SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A method of repairing an integrally bladed rotor (IBR) may comprise: performing a vibratory analysis of a rotor module including a first inspected IBR with a potential repair shape for the IBR; determining an undesirable vibratory characteristic of a second inspected IBR in the rotor module; iterating the potential repair shape for the first IBR to eliminate the undesirable vibratory characteristic of the second inspected IBR; and repairing the first IBR with a selected repair shape based on determining the potential repair shape eliminates the undesirable vibratory characteristic.
Device for sealingly repositioning and cooling an air flow measuring element within an operating turbomachine
A device for measuring the characteristics of an air flow in an annular passage of a turbo-machine. The device includes a rod which extends along a first axis and carries means for measuring air flow characteristics. The rod also sealingly engages and slides in a first tubular part extended by a second tubular part. The second tubular part sealingly passes along the first axis through a slider mounted in a slide for sliding along a second axis perpendicular to the first axis. The rod engages the second tubular part with an annular clearance.
AEROMECHANICAL IDENTIFICATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
An aero damping measurement system is provided. The system includes a shroud defining a tunnel, a hub disposed within the tunnel, and a plurality of blades coupled to the hub. The blades may rotate about the hub. A gas pressure probe may have a tip extending to the tunnel to deliver a pressurized burst into the tunnel. An aeromechanical identification system may include a pressurized gas source, a valve in fluid communication with the pressurized gas source, and the gas pressure probe may be in fluid communication with the valve. The valve may control a flow of a pressurized gas from the pressurized gas source into the gas pressure probe. A pressure sensor may be coupled to the gas pressure probe and configured to measure a pressure within the gas pressure probe.

Forced air convection apparatus and method for cooling a turbomachine
A forced air convection apparatus and method for cooling turbomachines is provided. The forced air convection apparatus for cooling a turbomachine, the apparatus comprising: a duct assembly having one or more outlets which are removably joinable to one or more corresponding air intakes of the turbomachine, and further having one or more inlets which are removably joinable to one or more corresponding exhausts of the turbomachine to enable closed loop recirculatory airflow through the turbomachine and the duct assembly and back to the turbomachine; and an air handling system having a blower arranged to blow air from the one or more inlets of the duct assembly to the one or more outlets of the duct assembly, and further having a heat exchanger configured to cool the air flowing through the duct assembly.
GAS TURBINE ENGINE WITH PRE-CONDITIONED CERAMIC MATRIX COMPOSITE COMPONENTS
A method of treating a component adapted for use in a gas turbine engine is described herein. The component may comprise ceramic matrix composite materials. The treatment to the ceramic matrix composite component may reduce or eliminate the wear or damage of crack propagation in the ceramic matrix composite component.
Fuel polishing system for test cells
Systems and methods for providing an automatic fuel polishing and on-demand fuel delivery for one or more gas turbine engine test cells are provided. The system can have a polishing loop that can continuously polish fuel. The polishing loop can have at least a fuel storage tank, a pump assembly, a filtration system, and a flow meter. The system can also have fuel delivery path coupled to the polishing loop at a three way junction. The three way junction can enable the continuous polishing loop when no test cells are operating. Upon initiation of one or more test cells, the delivery path can draw fuel from the polishing loop via the three way junction for use by the test cells. The flow meter can measure a corresponding drop in flow within the polishing loop and cause an increase in flow by the pump assembly.
HIGH ACCURACY FUEL SYSTEM
A fuel device including a housing having at least one fuel channel configured to direct, meter, sense or pump fuel there through, and a characterization device coupled to the housing including a memory chip, wherein the memory chip includes measured performance data of the fuel channel.
Systems and methods for autonomous vehicle systems testing
A system for manufacturing, testing, integrating, and operating of live or virtual platforms and components thereof uses a simulation engine and/or a testbed engine in a live-virtual-constructive (LVC) environment. The system can be used in a pure simulated environment or for testing of individual subsystems on a live platform (e.g., a live aircraft) with remaining subsystems in simulation, to incremental integration of all subsystems onto live aircraft.
