A system for damping mass-induced vibrations in a machine having a long boom or elongate member, the movement of which causes mass-induced vibration in such boom or elongate member. The system comprises at least one motion sensor operable to measure movement of such boom or elongate member resulting from mass-induced vibration, and a processing unit operable to control a first control valve spool in a pressure control mode and a second control valve spool in a flow control mode in order to adjust the hydraulic fluid flow to the load holding chamber of an actuator attached to the boom or elongate member to dampen the mass-induced vibration. The system further comprises a control manifold fluidically interposed between the actuator and control valve spools that causes the first and second control valve spools to operate, respectively, in pressure and flow control modes.

Provided is an electrohydrostatic actuation system including an emergency shut-off circuit to be actuated stably with a simple configuration. The electrohydrostatic actuation system includes: a hydraulic cylinder (24) including a piston (25) to which a valve element is connected, a first chamber (24A), and a second chamber (24B); a hydraulic pump (21) configured to supply hydraulic fluid to the first chamber (24A) or the second chamber (24B); a servo motor (M) configured to drive the hydraulic pump (21); a shuttle valve (11) configured to establish communication to a downstream side under a state in which a hydraulic pressure generated by the hydraulic pump (21) is maintained; a solenoid valve (12) configured to receive the hydraulic pressure via the shuttle valve (11) as a pilot pressure; and a logic valve (13) including a first port configured to receive the pilot pressure from the solenoid valve (12), and a second port to be communicated to the first chamber (24A) of the hydraulic cylinder (24). When the solenoid valve (12) is brought to a de-energized state, the pilot pressure of the logic valve (13) is released, and the logic valve (13) causes the hydraulic fluid in the first chamber (24A) communicated to the second port to flow into the second chamber (24B) so that emergency shut-off of the valve element is achieved by a return spring (26).

Provided is an electrohydrostatic actuation system including an emergency shut-off circuit to be actuated stably with a simple configuration. The electrohydrostatic actuation system includes: a hydraulic cylinder (24) including a piston (25) to which a valve element is connected, a first chamber (24A), and a second chamber (24B); a hydraulic pump (21) configured to supply hydraulic fluid to the first chamber (24A) or the second chamber (24B); a servo motor (M) configured to drive the hydraulic pump (21); a shuttle valve (11) configured to establish communication to a downstream side under a state in which a hydraulic pressure generated by the hydraulic pump (21) is maintained; a solenoid valve (12) configured to receive the hydraulic pressure via the shuttle valve (11) as a pilot pressure; and a logic valve (13) including a first port configured to receive the pilot pressure from the solenoid valve (12), and a second port to be communicated to the first chamber (24A) of the hydraulic cylinder (24). When the solenoid valve (12) is brought to a de-energized state, the pilot pressure of the logic valve (13) is released, and the logic valve (13) causes the hydraulic fluid in the first chamber (24A) communicated to the second port to flow into the second chamber (24B) so that emergency shut-off of the valve element is achieved by a return spring (26).
SYSTEM AND METHOD TO SERVICE A CUTTING ELEMENT IN WORK MACHINE
A hydraulic system and method for service mode on a work machine is operatively coupled to a cutting element for felling trees. The hydraulic system comprises a hydraulic motor, a hydraulic pump, a feed actuator, a feed line, a directional control valve, a voltage battery, and a controller. The hydraulic motor is coupled to the hydraulic circuit for operating the cutting element. The hydraulic pump is operable to supply pressurized fluid to the hydraulic motor. The feed actuator extends or retracts the cutting element. The feed line is coupled to the hydraulic actuator. The directional control valve is located on the feed line of the feed actuator. The controller receives a cutting element service mode signal, moves the directional control valve to pressure the feed line for extending the cutting element where the valve is powered by the voltage battery upon receiving the cutting element service mode signal.

Embodiments of a work vehicle magnetorheological fluid (MRF) joystick system includes a joystick device having a base housing, a joystick movably mounted to the base housing, and a joystick position sensor monitoring movement of the joystick relative to the base housing. An MRF joystick resistance mechanism is controllable to vary a joystick stiffness resisting movement of the joystick relative to the base housing in at least one degree of freedom. A controller architecture is coupled to the joystick position sensor and to the MRF joystick resistance mechanism. The controller architecture is configured to: (i) command the MRF joystick resistance mechanism to increase the joystick stiffness when the joystick is moved into a first predetermined detent position to generate a first MRF detent; and (ii) selectively activate a first detent-triggered function of the work vehicle based, at least in part, on joystick movement relative to the first MRF detent.

The controller configured to: (i) selectively enable an operator adjustment of the joystick return position by a work vehicle operator; and (ii) when enabling the operator adjustment of the joystick return position, command the MRF joystick resistance mechanism to maintain the MRF resistance force at a predetermined level until the operator adjustment of the joystick return position is terminated.
