In one example, a method includes determining a downstream flow profile including a pressure profile and a velocity profile; fabricating a pressure profile generator including distortion screen(s) disposed on a backing structure; fabricating a velocity profile generator including turning vanes in a flow path through the velocity profile generator that are configured to generate the velocity profile; attaching the pressure profile generator to an input side of the velocity profile generator; and installing the flow conditioning device in the flow field of interest. Flow through the flow conditioning device produces the downstream flow profile in the flow field of interest. In another example, a flow conditioning device includes a pressure profile generator with distortion screen(s) disposed on a backing structure; and a velocity profile generator with turning vanes attached to an input side of the velocity profile generator.

FLOW CONDITIONING ASSEMBLY
20200378414 · 2020-12-03 ·

A flow conditioning assembly comprising an integral elbow flow conditioner and a downstream flow conditioner. The elbow flow conditioner includes a pipe elbow with one or more flow conditioning elements. Each flow conditioning element includes one or more turning guides. Each turning guide is generally circular and radially spaced from one another and an inner surface of the elbow. Spaced vanes maintain the radial spacing of the turning guides. The vanes divide the radial space between the turning guides and pipe elbow into a plurality of flow channels that turn in generally the same direction as the inner surface of the pipe elbow. The downstream flow conditioner comprises a flow conditioning structure within a pipe element. The flow conditioning structure includes one or more flow guides of generally circular form radially spaced from one another and the pipe element. Spaced support vanes maintain the radial spacing of the flow guides.

Fluid straightening connection unit

Various connection units are disclosed. The connection unit can be configured to straighten a flow of air, such as to reduce the distance before the flow of air becomes substantially laminar. The connection unit can include a drag reduction unit. The drag reduction unit can be configured to redirect airflow to the center of the connection unit. The connection unit can include a wake diverting component configured to lift air away from the periphery of the connection unit and/or redirect the airflow towards a radial center connection unit.

Flow balancer

A flow balancer to reduce turbulence and achieve a laminar water flow system for fish while being pumped. The flow balancer having a tubular guide for the fish made from spaced apart blades having a width greater than a thickness of the spaced blades forming the tubular guide. The tubular guide is constructed and arranged to prevent turbulent and non-parallel water flow and allow fish to pass in a laminar water flow.

PROCESS CONNECTION FOR CONNECTING A FLOW MEASURING DEVICE TO A PIPELINE, FIELD DEVICE FOR AUTOMATION TECHNOLOGY AND METHOD FOR FASTENING A FLOW RECTIFIER TO A PROCESS CONNECTION

The present disclosure relates to a process connection for connecting a flow measuring device, to a pipeline, the process connection including a base body having an opening for conducting a medium and a flow rectifier, wherein the flow rectifier is inserted into a first recess of the base body and fixed in place by plastic deformation of an edge region of the base body surrounding the first recess, for example, by press fitting.

FLUID FLOW CONDUIT WITH FLOW-SHAPING ELEMENT

A fluid flow conduit according to one embodiment comprises: a body comprising a channel-defining surface which defines a principal flow channel extending in a longitudinal direction, wherein the body defines an interior flow region comprising the principal flow channel; an inlet for introducing fluid into the interior flow region, the inlet shaped so that an average velocity of fluid entering the interior flow region from the inlet is oriented in an inlet flow direction non-parallel to the longitudinal direction; and an outlet for conveying fluid out of the principal flow channel, the outlet spaced apart from the inlet in the longitudinal direction such that fluid that passes from the inlet to the outlet passes through at least a portion of the principal flow channel; wherein the fluid flow conduit defines a recess in the interior flow region and facing the inlet.

GAS FLOW METERING GAS CHAMBER AND GAS FLOW METER

The invention provides a gas flow metering gas chamber and a gas flow meter. The gas flow meter includes the gas flow metering gas chamber, a display device and a housing. The gas flow meter gas cell includes a cavity, a gas inlet, a gas outlet, two ultrasonic transducer mounting holes and a reflection device. The signal emitted by the first ultrasonic transducer installed in the first ultrasonic transducer mounting hole and the signal emitted by the second ultrasonic transducer installed in the second ultrasonic transducer mounting hole intersects with each other to form an L-shaped reflection passage. Compared with V-shaped, W-shaped, and N-shaped reflection structures, the effective distance between the two ultrasonic transducers of the present invention more is increased, the cross section of the cavity is reduced, and the rate of the gas flow is increased, which avoids contamination contained in the measured gas to contaminate the ultrasonic transducers and thereby improves the measurement accuracy.

Systems and methods for actively controlling a vortex in a fluid

A vortex control device for modifying a vortex in a fluid stemming from a wall is disclosed. The device includes a rotatable hub disposed within an opening in the wall.
