SPIGOT JOINT FISHING ROD
A fishing rod according to one embodiment of the invention includes a small-diameter hollow rod body extending in a central axis direction, a large-diameter hollow rod body extending in the central axis direction, and a spigot ferrule inserted in the small-diameter rod body from its rear end and into the large-diameter rod body from its front end to connect the small-diameter rod body and the large-diameter rod body. In the fishing rod, a first inclined surface that extends from an rear end of the small-diameter rod body at an angle of 0.1 to 10.0 with respect to the central axis direction is formed on an inner peripheral surface of the small-diameter rod body.

Designs and methods of making of joints for composite components under dominant bending load
A composite tube joint may comprise an end of a composite tube, an inner member disposed within the end, wherein an outer surface of the inner member has a complementary shape to an inner surface of the end, an outer member concentrically surrounding the end of the composite tube, and an undulated surface configured to mitigate movement of the end of the composite tube relative to at least one of the inner member and the outer member.
Connection Arrangement of Two Components
A connection arrangement (4, 4) of two components (1, 2) according to the invention has a curved surface portion having a contact point on at least one of these components. The curved surface portion can extend over the entire surface of a groove, for example. The other component has a taper. When assembling the two components before a force is applied, a line connection is created from the 2-contact point connection and when force is applied, the line connection changes through plastic deformation into a strip connection, on the basis of which the two components (1, 2) hold together.
JOINT MEMBER OF COMPOSITE AND JOINT STRUCTURE
A joint member of a composite including reinforcement fibers and resin and to be joined to a joining part according to an aspect includes: a main body part; and a joint part connecting with the main body part and to be joined to the joining part. The joint part includes a bulging part bulging toward the joining part in an opposed direction in which the joint part is opposed to the joining part, and has an orientation pattern having anisotropy such that fiber directions of the reinforcement fibers included in the joint part include a fiber direction different from a load direction of a load applied to a joined portion of the joint part and the joining part.

Method for creating a high tensile strength joint for connecting rods and fittings
A joint includes a solid rod having a slit or opening into which a wedge is inserted. The rod and wedge are inserted into a fitting. The internal surface of the fitting has a contour which continuously and nonlinearly varies with distance along the fitting. The wedge has a dimension having a similar contour. The shape of the contour can be described by a polynomial of order two or higher.
Camshaft phaser including rotor connector
A camshaft phaser includes a stator, a rotor rotatable with respect to the stator, and a connector configured for being nonrotatably fixed to the rotor. The connector is configured for being nonrotatably connected to an outer circumferential surface of a camshaft. A method of constructing a camshaft phaser for an internal combustion engine includes providing a stator and a rotor rotatable with respect to the stator; and providing a connector configured for nonrotatably fixing to the rotor, the connector being configured for being nonrotatably connected to an outer circumferential surface of a camshaft.

JOINING SYSTEM
A system for fixings and/or preventing relative movement between two elongated members particularly for a pole. The system comprises couplings provided by pairs of tapered bodies. The elongate mast portion is of a smaller cross-section than the base portion and can at least partially fit within the base portion. The respective tapered body providing engagement surfaces which upon entry of the mast into the base increase the area of mutual contact and increase the lateral force applied between the mast and the base thereby preventing or at least reducing relative movement therebetween.
