WALL MOUNTED TOGGLE HOOK

A convertible anchor comprises a fixture for holding an article to a friable wall and an anchoring mechanism extending from the fixture and adapted when rotated to engagingly extend into the wall for securing the fixture thereto. The fixture is selectively separable via frangible connection elements from the anchoring mechanism for allowing the fixture to be used alone with an appropriate fastener suitable for installing the fixture to a rigid structure, such as wooden components. The frangible elements are typically provided between the fixture and a proximal end of the anchoring mechanism. The nature of the vertical support to which the anchor is to be mounted is thus first determined and then, for a friable wall, the anchor is installed thereto using the anchoring mechanism or, for a more solid support, the fixture is separated from the anchoring mechanism and installed to the solid support via an appropriate fastener.

POST-INSTALLED ANCHOR

To provide a post-installed anchor capable of being used repeatedly and being easily removed and recovered.

A post-installed anchor to be inserted and fixed in an anchor insertion hole formed in a structure includes: a cylindrical anchor body; expandable pieces obtained by dividing the tip side of the anchor body into a plurality of pieces by a plurality of slits 16 which are formed on the tip side, leaving equal intervals in a circumferential direction and extending in the axial direction of the anchor body, the expandable pieces each having a plate-like part whose surface is formed into a flat surface and which has spring force, a fixing part formed at the tip of the expandable piece and having a larger thickness than that of the plate-like part, and an inclined part whose inner surface is gradually inclined inward toward the tip of the expandable piece; a female screw formed in an inner surface of an unexpandable part side of the anchor body; and a male screw body formed into a substantially columnar shape that can be inserted into the anchor body, having a wedge part with a truncated conical shape at its tip, having a male screw screwed with a female screw formed in the anchor body at its rear end side, and having a rotary tool engagement part at its rear end surface. The male screw body is advanced with the male screw of the male screw body screwed with the female screw of the anchor body to make the truncated conical shaped wedge part at the tip of the male screw body abut against the inclined part formed so that the inner surface thereof is gradually inclined inward toward the tip side of the expandable piece to expand the expandable piece by wedge action, pressing the outer surface of the fixing part against the hole wall of the anchor insertion hole, which thereby fixes the post-installed anchor in the anchor insertion hole, and the male screw body is retracted to close the expanded expandable piece by spring force of the plate-like part of the expandable piece for recovery and reuse.

Drywall brace and system and method for attachment of fixtures to drywall using the same

A drywall brace and system or method for using the same can include a body including a length L, a width W, and a thickness T. The body can include a first surface defined by a first plane comprising the length L and width W, a second surface opposite the first surface, and a first end sharpened to a point adapted to form an opening through drywall. A mounting aperture can be formed completely through a central portion of the body and be sized to receive a threaded bolt for mounting a device. A first portion and second portion of flexible line can be coupled within 3 centimeters (cm) of the mounting aperture. An adhesive can be coupled to the first surface of the body and covered with a removable adhesive protective layer. A cleaning pad can be coupled to the second surface of the body.

ANCHOR FOR HOLLOW WALLS

An anchor (910) for mounting to a hollow wall (W) made of friable material comprises a proximal flanged end (918) adapted to be engaged by a rotatable tool (B) to rotate the anchor (910) about a longitudinal axis (A) thereof and to cause is to gradually engage the wall (W). The anchor (910) also includes a distal end (912) adapted to cut through the wall (W) as the anchor (910) is rotated, and a shank (920) extending between the proximal and distal ends (918, 912). The shank (920) includes at least one expandable leg (924) that is in a collapsed position thereof when the anchor (910) is rotated to mount it to the wall (W) and that is located distally beyond a non visible surface of the wall (W) once the anchor (910) has been mounted to the wall and is in a first position thereof. The wall anchor (910) includes an outer thread (922) that securely engages the wall (W). A threaded fastener (B), e.g. a screw, is adapted to be introduced in the anchor (910) and to threadably engage the same distally of the leg (924) such that sufficient rotation of the threaded fastener (B) retracts the distal end (912) towards the proximal end (918) thereby causing the leg (924) to displace to a laterally expanded position thereof and to engage the non visible surface of the wall (W).

Embodiments include a mounting assembly for securing a supported element to a wall structure having an internal thickness. The mounting assembly comprises an internal assembly configured to engage the internal thickness of the wall structure and comprising a central anchor assembly with an anchor portion and a mating portion annularly arranged about an open end of the anchor portion, the mating portion having a first end fixedly attached to the anchor portion adjacent the open end and a second end for engaging the outer wall panel. The internal assembly further comprises a plurality of elongated anchors attached to the mating portion at an oblique angle relative to a central axis of the anchor portion. The mounting assembly further comprises an external assembly for engaging the outer wall panel and the mating portion of the central anchor assembly; and an elongated fastener for securing the external assembly to the internal assembly.

A screw and anchor assembly include a male fastener and a female anchor. The male fastener only has threads or half-circular fins on half of the surface area. The other half is just like a regular cylinder. The female anchor only has threads or half-circular fins on half of the inner surface area. The other half is just like the inner wall of a regular cylinder. The user may push the male fastener into the female anchor, so the half-circular fins on the male fastener engages with the half-circular fins inside the female anchor and locks the male fastener to the female anchor. When the user needs to remove the male fastener, simply turns the male fastener 180 degrees and disengages the half-circular fins on the male fastener from the half-circular fins on the female anchor, then pull the male fastener from the female anchor.
