To provide a post-installed anchor capable of being used repeatedly and being easily removed and recovered. A post-installed anchor to be inserted and fixed in an anchor insertion hole formed in a structure includes: a cylindrical anchor body; expandable pieces obtained by dividing the tip side of the anchor body into a plurality of pieces by a plurality of slits 16 which are formed on the tip side, leaving equal intervals in a circumferential direction and extending in the axial direction of the anchor body, the expandable pieces each having a plate-like part whose surface is formed into a flat surface and which has spring force, a fixing part formed at the tip of the expandable piece and having a larger thickness than that of the plate-like part, and an inclined part whose inner surface is gradually inclined inward toward the tip of the expandable piece; a female screw formed in an inner surface of an unexpandable part side of the anchor body; and a male screw body formed into a substantially columnar shape that can be inserted into the anchor body, having a wedge part with a truncated conical shape at its tip, having a male screw screwed with a female screw formed in the anchor body at its rear end side, and having a rotary tool engagement part at its rear end surface. The male screw body is advanced with the male screw of the male screw body screwed with the female screw of the anchor body to make the truncated conical shaped wedge part at the tip of the male screw body abut against the inclined part formed so that the inner surface thereof is gradually inclined inward toward the tip side of the expandable piece to expand the expandable piece by wedge action, pressing the outer surface of the fixing part against the hole wall of the anchor insertion hole, which thereby fixes the post-installed anchor in the anchor insertion hole, and the male screw body is retracted to close the expanded expandable piece by spring force of the plate-like part of the expandable piece for recovery and reuse.

Anchor assembly with toggle for hollow walls

An anchor assembly (A) for hollow walls comprises an anchor body (400) and a toggle member (231) that is displaceable between a first position wherein the toggle member (231) is substantially aligned with the anchor body (400) such that the anchor assembly (A) can be inserted in the wall (W) via a cutting distal end (325) of the toggle member (231), and a second position wherein the toggle member (231) extends behind the wall (W) at an angle relative to the anchor body (400) which extends through the wall (W). The toggle member (231) is held captive in the first position but is released and then rotated to the second position by a fastener (218) introduced in the anchor body (400). The fastener (218) threadably engages the toggle member (231) thereby drawing the toggle member (231) against a hidden side of the wall (W).

ANCHOR ASSEMBLY FOR FASTENER

An anchor assembly for walls comprises a toggle member and a strap member pivotally mounted together, and a locking member. In a first position, the toggle member is aligned with the strap member for insertion through the wall, whereas in a second position, the toggle member extends behind the wall at an angle relative to the strap member which extends from the toggle member through the hole in the wall. The locking member is adapted to be displaced along the strap member until it engages the wall and to be locked on the strap member. Therefore, the locking member and the toggle member are connected by the strap member and imprison the wall by abutting respectively the visible and hidden sides thereof. A fastener introduced through the locking member and the wall threadably engages an opening defined in the toggle member.

A setting tool for an expansion anchor, which has an expansion sleeve and an expansion element disposed in the expansion sleeve, includes an internal drive shaft for axially driving forward the expansion element in the expansion sleeve and an external drive shaft surrounding the internal drive shaft for rotational driving and axially driving forward the expansion sleeve into a substrate. The internal drive shaft has an insertion end in a rear area for inserting into a hammer drill. The external drive shaft is disposed in a torque-free manner and is slidable axially on the internal drive shaft. The setting tool further includes a releasable locking device, where an axial sliding of the internal drive shaft relative to the external drive shaft is limitable by the releasable locking device in a forward direction for transferring forward directed axial forces from the internal drive shaft to the external drive shaft.

Self-drilling drywall anchor and a method of securing an anchor in a drywall

Inexperienced users of conventional self-drilling drywall anchors may apply too much torque to its screw drive, even after the anchor has become fully bedded down in the drywall, under the mistaken impression that applying a greater torque will improve security of the anchor within the drywall. However, continuing to rotate the anchor after it has been fully inserted into the dry wall continues to rotate the anchor within the drywall and gouges out drywall material from around the anchor. Such gouging causes a cavity to form around the anchor, reducing its security within the wall. The present invention provides a self-drilling drywall anchor having a screw drive 16 that comprises a clutch configured to limit an amount of torque transmitted to the shank 5 by a tool engaged with the screw drive 16. In this way, a user may drive the anchor into a drywall, but over-tightening is prevented as the clutch limits the amount of torque transmitted to the shank 5, thereby preventing the external threads 7 on the shank from gouging out drywall material adjacent to the anchor and reducing the anchor's security within the drywall.
