Furthermore, the expansion sleeve has a plurality of circumferentially distributed fingers which are configured to flex outwards when a ramp portion of length L.sub.RAMP of each of the respective fingers is forced against the expansion feature during installation of the undercut anchor. The fingers each having a length L.sub.FINGER and a distance therebetween of W.sub.SLOT.

A method connects a first component to a second component. The first component is located at a distance to the second component. The method includes: providing a spacer element which has a sleeve-shaped section with a through-opening and an outer thread; screwing the spacer element with the outer thread into a threaded bore which is provided in the second component; screwing the spacer element into a screwed position in which the spacer element protrudes out of the threaded bore such that the spacer element bridges the distance between the first and the second component, wherein the end face of the spacer element rests against the first component side facing the second component; and clamping together the two components and the spacer element by way of a screw which is screwed into the sleeve-shaped section of the spacer element or which passes through the sleeve-shaped section of the spacer element.

The present disclosure describes an anchor device for receiving and securing a shaft thereto. The device includes an outer housing within which a jaw assembly is secured. The outer housing of the device may in turn be secured to or within a support structure such as a building component. Jaw components of the jaw assembly may be threaded. Furthermore, the jaw assembly has at least two configurations. In a first configuration, at least one jaw component is positioned away from a central shaft axis against the biasing force of a biasing member. A removable or reconfigurable holding member or stop member selectively secures the at least one jaw component in this position. A second configuration is the result of the holding member being reconfigured by the inserted shaft. The shaft triggers movement of the at least one jaw component toward the central shaft axis and into contact with the shaft.

The method includes the steps of providing at least one opening in a face of the solid surface and inserting a plaque support into the at least one opening. The plaque support includes a body defining a passageway therethrough and having a first end and a second end. The first end has a flange portion. Further, at least one outer tab member extends radially outward toward the first end and at least one inner tab member extends radially inward toward the second end. The outer tab member engages the solid surface upon insertion of the plaque support into the at least one opening. The method and system further include providing the plaque with at least one installation fastener. The at least one installation fastener is inserted into the passageway of the plaque support, such that the at least one inner tab member engages the at least one installation fastener.

The outer tab member engages the solid surface upon insertion of the plaque support into the at least one opening. The method and system further include providing the plaque with at least one installation fastener. The at least one installation fastener is inserted into the passageway of the plaque support, such that the at least one inner tab member engages the at least one installation fastener.

Method for installing a door hinge fastener

A fastener for securing a door hinge to a wooden jamb is provided. The fastener includes an anchor and a screw. The anchor has a wall formed by a plurality of splines enclosing a central inner void extending along the length of the anchor. The screw has a shaft extended between a tapered head and a tip and a threaded portion that extends along the length of the shaft. The anchor is inserted into a drilled hole in the wooden jamb. A door hinge is positioned on the wooden jamb and the screw is concentrically inserted into the central inner void of the anchor. The turning of the screw causes linear displacement of the tip of the anchor towards the tapered head of the screw causing expansion of the wall of the anchor against the wooden wall of the drilled hole and firmly holds the fastener secured in the hole.

A pair of latch members 36R, 36L in a case 20C protrudes from an outer face of the case 20C by a spring 38 and when the case 20C is passed through a wall hole 22H, the latch members 36R, 36L are narrowed by an engagement between outer edge (guiding) slant face 36ROI, 36LOI and a wall hole 22H and after the case 20C has passed through the wall hole 22H, the latch members 36R, 36L are spread by a spring 38 so as to engage the engagement slant faces 36RLI, 36LLI with the wall hole 22H and also while fixing temporarily the case 22C to the wall 22 together with a flange 20FL of the case 22C. After that, a screw 32 is screwed to draw the nut 34 toward the flange 20FL and to engage securely the latch members 36R, 36L held to the nut 34 with the wall hole 22H to complete secure fixing of the case 20C.

The present disclosure provides a lockable double shear dowel connector comprising two guide tubes, two dowels, two sleeves, an open end, and two orifices. The dowels are disposed adjacent to each other and adjacent to a joint between adjacent blocks of building materials. The present disclosure further provides kits and methods for using and installing the connectors disclosed herein.
