COUPLING DEVICE FOR CONNECTING INTERMODAL CONTAINERS
A coupling device for engagement with two corner castings of two intermodal containers stacked upon each other includes a positioning member and upper and lower coupling members. The lower coupling member has a lower neck portion, a lower coupling portion, and first and second shoulder surfaces disposed at a juncture between the lower neck and coupling portions. With the engagement of the shoulder surfaces with the corner casting on the lower container, the lower coupling member can be retained in the corner casting to prevent undesired separation of the containers when the containers are subjected to a lateral force during rolling with winds and waves at sea upon shipping.
Fastening system
A fastening system has at least one holding part (7) that can be fitted to a component (1) and that on one side, has a flat carrier part (29L-35) provided with adhering or hooking elements (15) projecting on one side. The opposite side at the carrier part has at least one fastener (17). A sealing device (31; 41) is on the fastener (17).
Side-by-side vehicle
The present invention relates to all terrain vehicles having at least a pair of laterally spaced apart seating surfaces.
Energy absorption rotatable fastener
An energy absorbing rotatable fastener to attach curtain air bags to a vehicle body includes a metal clip with a rectangular central aperture and inward flanges on opposing sides of the aperture. A molded pin includes a manipulation portion and an energy absorption portion supported on the clip with a biasing element urging the pin outward. The pin and clip connect an air bag tab and body plate and the pin is rotatable in an arc of 45 to place the energy absorption portion in an energy absorbing position between the tab and body plate. The pin and clip each provide energy absorption on air bag deployment. In one form, the manipulation portion of the pin includes a drive cap that provides ninety degrees (90) of lost motion.
Pin joint assembly
A pin joint assembly for an aircraft landing gear having an elongate joint pin; at least one first lug through which the joint pin passes; and at least one second lug through which the joint pin passes. The joint pin assembly includes first and second retaining elements located at opposite ends of the joint pin and arranged to maintain the location of the joint pin relative to the first and second lugs. At least portion of the pin joint assembly is elastically deformable.
Frangible detent pin
A frangible detent pin comprising a base a pin head and an elastic member. The base is configured to be secured within a bore. The pin head and the base are interconnected through a frangible connection. The elastic member is configured to bias the pin head away from the base. The frangible detent pin has a rigid stage in which the pin head is rigidly positioned relative to the base and a spring-loaded stage in which the pin head is moveable relative to the base under a compression load between pin head and the base. The frangible detent pin is configured to transition from the rigid stage to the spring-loaded stage in response to the compression load exceeding a predetermined threshold sufficient to cause the frangible connection to fail.
SIDE-BY-SIDE VEHICLE
The present invention relates to all terrain vehicles having at least a pair of laterally spaced apart seating surfaces.
Cinch fastening device
A fastening device and method thereof is described. According to an embodiment of the present invention there is a fastening device comprising an insertion component and a receptacle component. The insertion component and the receptacle component, each includes a barbed outer surface. The insertion component comprises two sections of its barbed outer surface, separated by a flange, such that one section of the insertion components is configured to be inserted inside the receptacle component. A method of fastening a first substrate to a second substrate using a fastening device according to an embodiment is provided comprising pushing the insertion component into a hole in the first substrate, pushing the receptacle component into a hole in the second substrate, and pushing the insertion component into the receptacle component.
Articulating fastener
A fastener for insertion into aligned openings in articles and method of use, the fastener having a head having a width greater than a width of the opening, a neck having a width less than the width of the opening, a resilient shank having a width greater than the width of the opening. The shank having a tapered end and a U-shaped channel, to define a line of weakness to permit the shank to articulate between a normal position where the shank has a width greater than the width of the opening and an insertion position where the shank is bent to have a width less than the width of the opening. The shank resiliently returns to its normal position once pushed in and through the opening with the neck received within the opening, locking the fastener within the opening.
Method Of Making Nut Fasteners
A fastener is provided. In another aspect, a fastener is made of layers of material, a light curable material and/or multiple built-up materials. Another aspect uses a three-dimensional printing machine to emit material from an ink jet printing head to build up a fastener.
