A modular safety fence assembly is disclosed. The safety fence may include a fence panel assembly having a top rail, a bottom rail, and mesh panel. The safety fence panel assembly may also support post assembly capable of supporting the fence panel assembly and an anchor assembly which may anchor the support post assembly to the floor using one or more relatively shallow holes formed in the floor.

Threaded fastener with improved resistance to backing out of a blind hole
11773892 · 2023-10-03 ·

A threaded fastener composed of separate upper and lower portions with a small axial freedom of movement relative to one another. After being threaded into a blind hole together, the portions are moved relative to one another and locked in place, creating a distribution of stresses which resists backing-out of the fastener without the various drawbacks which limit prior art solutions to this and similar threaded fastener applications.

Apparatus for preloading a bearing

A method for preloading a bearing includes releasably, threadably, and directly attaching an attaching member to a circumferential outside surface of an exposed end of a threaded shaft of an axle or spindle. A frame is axially separated from, and coupled to, the attaching member. A plurality of extensions extends from the frame axially past the attaching member toward the wheel hub assembly. An adjustment mechanism moves the frame and the plurality of extensions axially towards the wheel hub assembly to contact the wheel hub assembly and/or the bearing to apply a preload to the bearing within the wheel hub assembly.

Two-part nut with high pressing force

A nut has two parts, each having a section of an internal thread which is radially slidable onto an external thread. The nut parts have cooperating connecting elements which permit relative displacement in a direction extending radially with respect to the axis of the internal thread until reaching a use position in which the internal thread of the nut engages around the external thread with a small clearance. The connecting elements have guide surfaces which guide the nut parts in a rotational movement about an axis of rotation extending transversely to the axis of the internal thread when displaced into the use position. Each nut part has at least one first locking arm which has on one side a guide surface which induces the rotational movement when the nut parts are displaced and bears against a complementary guide surface on a second locking arm of the other nut part.

A bolt includes a shank having a first end, a second end, a first external thread proximate to the first end, and a second external thread proximate to the second end. The first external thread twists in a first direction, the second external thread twists in a second direction, and the first direction is different from the second direction. The first external thread includes a minor diameter, the second external thread includes a major diameter, and the minor diameter of the first external thread is greater than the major diameter of the second external thread.

Fastener Assembly and Method of Use

An assembly for securing a workpiece. The workpiece includes a bore having a first opening in a first surface of the workpiece. A limiter extends between a proximal end and distal end and defines a bore and is received in at least a portion of the bore of the workpiece. A fastener extends along an axis between a proximal end and a distal end. The fastener has a head at the proximal end and a plurality of threads at the distal end. The fastener is received in the bore of the workpiece so that the distal end of the fastener having the plurality of threads is opposite the first opening of the bore. A first spring element is disposed about the fastener and is between the head of the fastener and the first surface of the workpiece. The first spring element is configured to generate a deflection force when the first spring element is subjected to a compression force during a tensioning of the assembly.

Nut and bolt tightening method and tightening device

Provided is a nut and a bolt tightening method for fastening an object, wherein a tightening force is applied on the object by rotating a nut or a bolt in a state in which a predetermined tension force is applied on the bolt in the axial direction of the bolt. When the tensile force exerted on the bolt decreases as the tightening force increases and after a timing when an inflection point occurs in a time course change in a ratio of an amount of change in the tensile force exerted on the bolt to an amount of change in an angle of rotation of the nut or the bolt, the tightening resulting from the rotation of the nut or bolt is terminated and the tensile force applied on the bolt is removed.

THERMALLY STABILIZED FASTENER SYSTEM AND METHOD

A thermally stabilized fastener system and method is disclosed. The disclosed system/method integrates a fastener (FAS) incorporating a faster retention head (FRH), fastener retention body (FRB), and fastener retention tip

(FRT) to couple a mechanical member stack (MMS) in a thermally stabilized fashion using a fastener retention receiver (FRR). The MMS includes a temperature compensating member (TCM), a first retention member (FRM), and an optional second retention member (SRM). The TCM is constructed using a tailored thermal expansion coefficient (TTC) that permits the TCM to compensate for the thermal expansion characteristics of the FAS, FRM, and SRM such that the force applied by the FRH and FRR portions of the FAS to the MMS is tailored to a specific temperature force profile (TFP) over changes in MMS/FAS temperature. The TCM may be selected with a TTC to achieve a uniform TFP over changes in MMS/FAS temperature.
