Threaded standoff with anti-rotational structure
A standoff assembly for separating a first component from a second component from one another a predetermined distance includes a standoff having a predetermined length defined between a first end and a second end, and an anti-rotational structure formed at the first end. The anti-rotational structure is configured to be inserted into a corresponding opening formed in the first component. The standoff assembly further includes a first fastener to secure the first component to the first end of the standoff and a second fastener to secure the second component to the second end of the standoff. A method for separating a first component from a second component is further disclosed.
RIVETING METHOD AND A RIVETING STRUCTURE
The present invention discloses a riveting method and a riveting structure. The riveting method comprises providing a plate having a first side and a second side opposite to the first side; forming a wall portion on the first side of the plate, the wall portion having a first recessed area at its first side and a second recessed area at its second side opposite to the first side; placing the fastener in the first recessed area so that the fastener is adjacent to the first side of the wall portion; and applying a force to the wall portion from the second side of the wall portion so that the wall portion is deformed so as to at least partially enclosed the fastener. This technical solution can avoid unwanted indentation on the back of the plate.
Window clip release system
A clip release system for a vehicle door includes: a clip including a stem and a clamping portion configured to hold a window; a lock including at least one guide extending from the first axial surface to the second axial surface, the lock being disposed in the stem of the clip; a bolt that rotates between a first position and a second position, is inserted through the hole of the lock in an insertion direction, and biased to move out of the lock in a direction opposite the insertion direction, the bolt including a head at a first end of the bolt, a shaft extending to a second end of the bolt, and at least one locking tab disposed on a surface of the shaft and configured to pass through the at least one guide.
SLIDING TRACK CONNECTOR
A sliding track connector for mounting objects to a track member using a twist tie or zip ties. The connector includes a rigid body with a plurality of transversely aligned holes configured to receive a twist tie. The connector body includes a bottom surface, outer sidewalls, and a center void. At least two pairs of holes extend transversely through the sidewalls of the body. In one embodiment, formed or attached to the bottom surface of the body is a post configured to slide freely inside the slot. Attached to the post is a wide cap configured to press against the inside surfaces of the flanges formed on opposite sides of the track member's slot. In one embodiment, the post and cap are integrally formed on the body. When the body is rotated, the post rotates inside the channel and the cap becomes wedged. against the flanges on opposite sides of the slot. On or two twist ties are inserted through the holes on opposite sides of the connector body during use to hold an object on the track member.
Fastener assembly for use with one or more workpieces
A fastener assembly for use with one or more workpieces. The fastener assembly can be a single-sided (i.e., blind) fastener assembly in which the fastener assembly is inaccessible from one side of the workpiece(s). In this regard, the workpiece(s) can make-up an enclosed component, for example. The fastener assembly can have a fastening end, such as a threaded stud, for securement with a distinct component that is otherwise detached from the fastener assembly. The workpiece(s) can be composed of a carbon fiber composite material, an aluminum material, or another type of material.
Pipe hanger with lock tab washer
A hanger for a pipe, the hanger comprising: a suspension member configured to engage the pipe, the suspension member comprising a side edge and defining a hole in through the suspension member; a threaded rod extending through the hole; a nut threaded on the threaded rod; and a lock tab washer disposed on the threaded rod between the suspension member and the nut, the lock tab washer comprising a first tab and a second tab, the first tab bent over a side edge of the suspension member, the first tab configured to prevent the lock tab washer from rotating with respect to the suspension member, the second tab bent over a circumferential side of the nut, the second tab configured to prevent the nut from rotating with respect to the lock tab washer.
ASSEMBLY WITH CAPTIVE NUT
An assembly with an aircraft fuel tank is disclosed having a captive nut with an internal thread, a secondary structure, and a fastener which secures the secondary structure to the fuel tank. The fastener has a shaft which passes through the secondary structure and has an external thread coupled to the internal thread of the captive nut. The fuel tank has a fuel tank element with a hole, and the captive nut has a sleeve which is located in the hole with an interference fit between an outer surface of the sleeve and an inner surface of the wall of the hole.
Ballistic resistant panel insert assembly
A ballistic resistant fastener having a ballistic resistant face plate includes a plurality of layers of aramid synthetic fibers or carbon nanotubes, a plug body having a threaded body bore extending into the body, a helical thread insert within the plug body, a bolt engaging the helical thread insert, and a bottom cup having a cup sidewall attached to the body.
Torque Absorbing Surface
A plurality of raised surfaces on a platform absorb torque of a fastener contacting the surface while rotating relatively to the platform. Significant disproportionate increase in torque compared with the associated increase in bolt stress is observed by increased felt torque when tightening the fastener. Raised surfaces are used on lugs of a mechanical pipe coupling to increase the fastener's resistance to damage when powered tools are used to apply torque to the fastener.
Fastening insert for a component made of plastic, foam or composite material
A fastening insert made of plastic with a T-shaped configuration consisting of an insert disc and a hollow cylindrical shaft fastened to the insert disc. The insert disc has a plurality of passage openings arranged off-center, at least one of which has an edge projection extending circumferentially continuously or circumferentially in sections, which is formed as toothing and extends on one side or both sides beyond the respective fastening side of the insert disc. This toothing ensures an additional form-fit connection or fixation of the fastening insert in a preferably fiber-reinforced composite material.
