EXPANDABLE, RESIN FILLED FASTENER, FASTENER SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR COMPOSITE STRUCTURES

A fastener for improved electrical contact with a composite structure and improved distribution of electric current to the composite structure. The fastener includes an elongated shaft having a first end with a head portion, a second end with a threaded portion, and a shaft body therebetween. At least one feed channel extends from an opening at the threaded portion, through the shaft body, and terminates proximal to the head portion. The shaft body radially expands upon pressure injection of a resin filler into the feed channel, when the fastener is installed in a corresponding fastener hole formed in the composite structure. Upon radially expanding, the outer surface of the shaft body makes contact with an inner hole surface of the corresponding fastener hole, resulting in the fastener providing electrical contact with the composite structure and providing distribution of electric current.

GOLF CLUB HEAD WITH IMPROVED INERTIA PERFORMANCE

A golf club head that is capable improving on the inertia properties of a golf club head all while also improving the Center of Gravity (CG) location is disclosed herein. More specifically, the golf club head in accordance with the present invention achieves a relative low Moment of Inertia (MOI) about the Z-axis (MOI-Z) as well as a relatively low MOI about the Shaft-axis (MOI-SA), all combined with a high MOI about the X and Y-axis (MOI-X and MOI-Y).

A fastener system for ignition prevention triggered by a lightning strike. The fastener has a fastener body and a fastener head, and a fastening member configured to be mounted on a portion of the fastener body, wherein the fastener and the fastening member are configured to fasten at least a first part and a second part between the fastener head and the fastening member, and the fastener comprises an electrically insulating material. A structure comprises the fastener system, the first part that faces an outside from where the lightning strike may hit the first part and the second part.

TELESCOPING CAP ASSEMBLY FOR ENCAPSULATING A FASTENER DISPOSED WITHIN A CONFINED SPACE

This disclosure provides a cap assembly for encapsulating a fastener or portion of a fastener that protrudes from a surface and into a confined space. The cap assembly includes a plurality of nested sections that telescope a collapsed configuration to an extended configuration. The plurality of nested sections includes a base section that includes a base rim that engages the surface in the extended configuration. The plurality of nested sections also includes an end section that has an end wall. The end wall and the base rim define a length of the cap assembly in the extended configuration that is sufficient to encapsulate the fastener within the cap assembly with the base rim engaging the surface and the end wall spaced apart from a distal end of the fastener.

Spark containment cap

A spark containment cap for forming a sealed cavity around an end of a fastener protruding from a structure is disclosed having a cap body with an annular base terminating at a rim which surrounds an opening into an air cavity arranged to enclose the end of the fastener. An annular sealing volume extends around the rim arranged to receive an annular bead of a curable sealing material around the opening into the cavity to provide a seal between the cap body and the structure to seal a volume of gas within the cavity. An engaging feature is configured to engage with the end of the fastener to prevent rotation of the fastener relative to the cap when the end of the fastener is received by the cap. A fastening system, a joint, an aircraft and a method of securing a fastener and a spark containment cap to a structure are also disclosed.

Anchor sealing hygienic bracket
09822907 · 2017-11-21 · ·

An offset hygienic anchor sealing bracket for installation of block style tube and pipe hangers to a paneled strata in which there is no access to the reverse side, there being a need to secure the anchor bracket to an anchor bolt or toggle bolt and simultaneously shield the exposed toggle bolt structure from the environment of the clean room, sterile room, or sanitary room in order to protect the irregular surface of the toggle bolt from caustic cleaning solutions and to prevent the build up of dirt and bacteria, the anchor bracket having bored pedestals in communication with the cavity which encapsulates the exposed portion of the toggle bolt and secures the anchor bracket thereto, the anchor bracket having a plurality of female threaded receptacles for receipt of fasteners utilized in assembling block style tube and pipe hangers, thus securing the block style tube and pipe hanger to the panel at a desired slope and center line.

Assembly for plugging an aperture in a body

An apparatus includes a body, a collar, a fastener and a retainer. The body extends between first and second sides. The collar sealingly engages the first side and extends into an aperture in the body. The fastener engages the second side and extends through the collar to a distal end. The retainer is mated with the fastener at the distal end. The collar and the fastener cooperate to limit rotation therebetween.

CONFORMAL CLEARANCE FIT FASTENER, FASTENER SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR COMPOSITE STRUCTURES

A fastener includes an elongated shaft having a first end, a second end, and a shaft body, a head portion, and a threaded portion. At least one inner feed channel extends through the head portion and the shaft body and terminates proximal to the threaded portion. The fastener has a plurality of flutes formed along and circumferentially spaced around an outer surface of the shaft body and an outer surface of the head portion. Each flute has a first end and extends from a first location proximal to the threaded portion, along the outer surface of the shaft body, and radially outward along the outer surface of the head portion. The fastener further has one or more lateral feed channels formed laterally through the shaft body and connecting the inner feed channel to at least two opposing flutes on the outer surface of the shaft body.
