PLASTIC NUT, FASTENING SYSTEM AND FASTENING METHOD
A plastic nut for multiple detachable fastening onto a stud with a thread protruding from a workpiece includes a base body with an inner surface partially defining a cylindrical recess penetrating the base body. A support surface is attached to the base body at an axial end of the plastic nut. A clamping device is attached to the plastic nut and configured to provide a clamping force between the plastic nut and the stud when the stud is installed in the cylindrical recess.
COMBINATION STRUCTURE OF BASE MEMBER AND ERECT MEMBER AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
A combination structure for a base member and an erect member, and a manufacturing method thereof, are disclosed. The combination structure includes a base member comprising a slot and a through hole in communications with the slot. An erect member is inserted into the slot, and a combining member detachably engages with the through hole. The combining member thereby fixedly positions the erect member in the slot when the combining member is joined to the through hole.
ELECTRIC DEVICE
An electric device includes a substrate on which electronic components are mounted, and a metal plate to which the substrate is fixed. The metal plate includes first bosses provided at positions corresponding to four corners of the substrate, a second boss provided inside a rectangle that connects the four first bosses, and a slit that is provided adjacent to the second boss, and extends in non-parallel with any side of the rectangle. The substrate is fixed to each of the four first bosses with a first male screw, such that a rubber washer is sandwiched between the substrate and the first male screw. The substrate is fixed to the second boss with a second male screw, such that no rubber washer is sandwiched between the substrate and the second male screw.
COMPOSITE RAIL TIE APPARATUS AND METHOD
A railroad crosstie (tie) may be fabricated from a composite material including a fiber reinforced polymer shell manufactured by pultrusion or other process, and filled by a suitable material, typically selected from expanded elastomeric polymer (such as polyurethane resin or other polymer), concrete, lightweight concrete formed by conventional aggregate, sand, cement, water, and an ultra light filler such as natural materials, sawdust, beads of expanded polymer such as expanded polystyrene, microspheres of glass or plastic, a recycled wooden tie in conjunction with any of the above, or the like. Fasteners may be driven such as spikes, threaded, such as screws, lag screws, spreading screws, rivets, or the like into apertures, pilot holes, or directly into fill absent apertures therein.
Apparatus for a burst-through torque indicator
A nut is configured to be secured to a bolt. The nut includes a main body that defines an axially aligned bore with threads disposed on an inner wall thereof. Further, the nut includes a dome-shaped head that has an axially aligned aperture and that is provided to be deformed by threads on the bolt when a predetermined burst-through torque is applied thereto.
Fastening system allowing component removal after fastener system failure
A fastening system for attaching a cover to an underground vault having a bolt with threads and a composite fiber reinforced polymer nut having a thread engagement portion extending through the nut which will fail in shear after the bolt is inserted before the nut and bolt seize. The fastening system can also include a nut retainer sized to allow the nut to float within the retainer.
Cannulated disposable torque limiting device with plastic shaft
A torque-limiting device may include a shaft extending axially through upper and lower shanks, a spring, and a nut to an end opening of a handle. The upper and lower shanks may be under a force from the spring and further configured to selectively engage within a predetermined torque limit and disengage at above the predetermined torque limit. Accordingly, the shaft may receive torque up to the predetermined limit as provided by a user operating a handle of the torque-limiting device. The torque-limiting device may be disposable, reusable, economical, and have high torque capabilities. The shaft may be of a plastic material and include a lumen extending there through, and through which a variety of devices and materials may be delivered to a workpiece.
Door handle apparatus for vehicle
A door handle apparatus for a vehicle includes an outside handle configured by a first handle member and a second handle member which are integrally fixed to each other via a fixing mechanism configured by a plurality of engagement tabs, a pedestal portion and a stopper member, the engagement tabs being provided at one of the first handle member and the second handle member, and arranged to be separated from each other by a space portion which is predetermined and to face each other, the pedestal portion being provided at the other of the first handle member and the second handle member, and including an engagement hole into which the engagement tabs are insertable, and the stopper member being inserted in the space portion between the plurality of engagement tabs which is in a state of being inserted in the engagement hole of the pedestal portion.
Compensator assembly for a vehicle frame
A compensator assembly for a vehicle frame includes a base member having a clip engaging a first frame component spaced from a second frame component. An extension member is threadably coupled with the base member. A fastener extends coaxially through the base and the extension members to engage the first and second frame components. Rotation of the fastener unthreads the extension member until it contacts the second frame component.
