A wheel nut assembly for fixing a wheel to a vehicle hub which includes a wheel nut with an internal thread and an axial body extension on said nut including a first section with an internal set of axial grooves or ribs and a second section containing a second internal screw thread. There is also a wheel stud having an external thread to co-operate with the internal thread of said wheel nut and having an end portion adapted to project beyond the wheel nut which end portion includes axial grooves or ribs on its external surface. An axial retaining cap consists of an upper externally screw threaded first portion which is adapted to engage the second internal screw thread of said body extension of said nut and attached to said first portion a second cap portion having internal grooves or ribs complementary to the external ribs or grooves on said wheel stud adapted to fit over said wheel stud and having external ribs or grooves adapted to engage the internal set of axial grooves or ribs on the first section of said body extension of said wheel nut. The first portion of said retaining cap is able to be rotated so that it moves axially down the internal screw thread of the second section of said body extension of said wheel nut so that the second portion of said cap is pushed down the end of said wheel stud and is held between the external ribs and grooves of the end of said wheel stud and the internal ribs and grooves of the first section of said body extension of said wheel nut.

The present disclosure relates to a fastener system for use in securing objects, such as stress skinned panels, to a structural support, such as an aircraft spar or cross member. The fastener may be provided with a radially-expandable collar assembly, an anti-rotator assembly, a shaft, and a bolt-lock.

EXPANDABLE, RESIN FILLED FASTENER, FASTENER SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR COMPOSITE STRUCTURES

A fastener for improved electrical contact with a composite structure and improved distribution of electric current to the composite structure. The fastener includes an elongated shaft having a first end with a head portion, a second end with a threaded portion, and a shaft body therebetween. At least one feed channel extends from an opening at the threaded portion, through the shaft body, and terminates proximal to the head portion. The shaft body radially expands upon pressure injection of a resin filler into the feed channel, when the fastener is installed in a corresponding fastener hole formed in the composite structure. Upon radially expanding, the outer surface of the shaft body makes contact with an inner hole surface of the corresponding fastener hole, resulting in the fastener providing electrical contact with the composite structure and providing distribution of electric current.

PERMANENT SCREW ATTACHMENT

A method and system for permanently attaching a take-up screw for taking-up the axial clearance of the armature shaft of a windscreen wiper motor are disclosed. The take-up screw is screwed axially into a bore in the motor base (SM) until the screw reaches a stop position in relation to the armature shaft locked in the screw. At least one surface discontinuity is provided in the bore and/or the thread of the screw, allowing the screw to be screwed into the bore until it reaches the stop position. The screw is screwed into the bore until the stop position is reached and a screw- and/or motor base-deformation strain is applied at the discontinuity in order to deform the side surface of the screw and/or motor base (SM) and permanently attach the screw and/or motor base by wedging in the discontinuity.

CONFORMAL CLEARANCE FIT FASTENER, FASTENER SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR COMPOSITE STRUCTURES

A fastener includes an elongated shaft having a first end, a second end, and a shaft body, a head portion, and a threaded portion. At least one inner feed channel extends through the head portion and the shaft body and terminates proximal to the threaded portion. The fastener has a plurality of flutes formed along and circumferentially spaced around an outer surface of the shaft body and an outer surface of the head portion. Each flute has a first end and extends from a first location proximal to the threaded portion, along the outer surface of the shaft body, and radially outward along the outer surface of the head portion. The fastener further has one or more lateral feed channels formed laterally through the shaft body and connecting the inner feed channel to at least two opposing flutes on the outer surface of the shaft body.

SWIVELING TAPER LOCK CONNECTOR

A connector includes a first housing having a bore hole terminating in a machine taper tunnel, a tapered hole, and a slot extending through the first housing across its bore hole to its tapered hole. Similarly, a second housing has a bore hole, a tapered hole, and a slot extending through the second housing across its bore hole to its tapered hole. A rod disposed in the first and second housings' bore holes extends across the slots. The rod terminates at first and second ends with the second end being coupled to the second housing. The rod has a machine taper coupled thereto between its first and second ends for engagement with the machine taper tunnel. A lever, pivotally coupled to the rod's first end, can simultaneously cause the rod's machine taper to move relative to the machine taper tunnel and cause the width of the slots to change.
