SPECIALIZED CONNECTION DEVICES AND METHOD OF USE
20220381025 · 2022-12-01 ·

An anchor bolt fastener assembly with specialized connection capabilities and features for attaching building components to concrete slabs, walls, ceilings, and/or structural surfaces. Compression force can be established and maintained over time using a compression washer in combination with a specialized fastener stud that is designed to exploit the compression washer benefits. Methods of using exemplary embodiments include installing the anchor bolt fastener assembly relatively flush with the surface of the concrete slurry by direct insertion in the slurry using a specialized threaded anchor bolt float. Once the slurry hardens, the anchor bolt and anchor bolt float embedded in the concrete slurry cooperate with the specialized fastener stud to secure the building component to the concrete.

CENTERING BOLT

Aspects of the disclosure are directed to a bolt comprising: a body having a head, a circumferential sidewall, a central bore extending at least a portion of a length of the bolt, and a plurality of slots extending through the sidewall from the bore, a plurality of positioning arms at least partially located within an interior of the bolt, and a screw seated within the head, where a position of the screw within the head controls an extent to which the plurality of the positioning arms are extended through the sidewall.

EQUIPMENT MOUNTING SYSTEMS AND PROCESSES THEREOF

An equipment mounting system for mounting equipment to a support structure is described. An equipment mounting system including: (i) a mounting plate having defined therein a plate aperture of a particular shape; (ii) a bolt having a shaft portion including a threaded portion and a non-threaded portion that is of a complementary shape that complements the particular shape of the plate aperture; and (iii) a washer having defined therein a scored aperture that includes multiple radially extending scorings. In an assembled configuration of the mounting plate, the bolt and the washer, the plate aperture of the particular shape aligns with the scoring aperture such that both of the plate aperture and the scoring aperture receive the non-threaded portion of the complementary shape, and the particular shape of the mounting plate engages with the complementary shape of the bolt to prevent rotational displacement of the bolt around the mounting plate.

Sealed fastener cap and related method of manufacture

A fastener cap system can include a rigid cap and a sealing member which forms a liquid barrier so moisture is impaired from entering a space under the rigid cap and/or around a fastener installed through it. The sealing member can include a central seal disposed on an upper surface of the cap, the seal extending beyond a head of a fastener, which extends through the cap and sealing member, so that moisture is impaired from entering the cap under the head. The sealing member can be above and below respective lowermost and uppermost cap surfaces so the cap system can be fed cleanly and efficiently through a cap feeder during installation via a tool. The sealing member, which can have a higher coefficient of friction than the rigid cap, thereby does not drag along a cap feeder and cause feeding issues. Related methods of manufacture and use are provided.

ELASTOMERIC COLLAR FOR FASTENERS

An elastomeric collar has a body portion with a generally cylindrical shape from a first end portion to a second end portion and defining a through opening extending along a central axis. A first annular flange is connected to and extends radially outward from the first end portion of the body portion. A second annular flange is connected to and extends radially outward from the second end portion of the body portion, where the second annular flange is axially spaced by a gap from the first annular flange. The body portion, the first annular flange, and the second annular flange are made of an elastomer having a durometer of at least 40A.

Drill point fastener

A fastener may include an elongated shank, a head at a distal end of the shank, and a drill point at a terminal end of the shank, which is opposite to the distal end. The fastener may include a primary thread starting at the drill point and extending along the shank towards the head. The fastener may include a secondary thread starting at the drill point, extending along the shank towards the head, and stopping in an axial direction before the primary thread ends. The secondary thread may be radially located 180 degrees from the primary thread. The drill point may include a plurality of radially extending cutting edges and one or more relieved flute portion extending along the surface of the drill point.

Ceramic fastener assembly for high temperatures

A ceramic fastener assembly for high temperatures. One embodiment is a fastener assembly that includes a ceramic fastener configured to engage a hole of a structure. The ceramic fastener includes a head and a non-threaded shank including one or more indentations around its perimeter. The fastener assembly also includes a sleeve configured to slide over the non-threaded shank of the ceramic fastener. The sleeve includes a hollow cylindrical body, an exterior surface with threads, and an interior surface with one or more protrusions configured to mate with the one or more indentations of the non-threaded shank. The fastener assembly further includes a nut configured to engage the threads of the sleeve to tighten the one or more protrusions with the one or more indentations of the non-threaded shank. The fastener assembly also includes a thermal spacer configured to thermally isolate the nut and the sleeve from the structure.

Anchor sealing hygienic bracket

An offset hygienic anchor sealing bracket for installation of block style tube and pipe hangers to a paneled strata in which there is no access to the reverse side, there being a need to secure the anchor bracket to an anchor bolt or toggle bolt and simultaneously shield the exposed toggle bolt structure from the environment of the clean room, sterile room, or sanitary room in order to protect the irregular surface of the toggle bolt from caustic cleaning solutions and to prevent the build up of dirt and bacteria, the anchor bracket having bored pedestals in communication with the cavity which encapsulates the exposed portion of the toggle bolt and secures the anchor bracket thereto, the anchor bracket having a plurality of female threaded receptacles for receipt of fasteners utilized in assembling block style tube and pipe hangers, thus securing the block style tube and pipe hanger to the panel at a desired slope and center line.

COMPRESSION LIMITER TO ACCOMMODATE THERMAL EXPANSION DIFFERENTIAL

A coolant valve mounting arrangement is provided for a vibrating environment with significant temperature fluctuations. The mounting arrangement includes a fastener, a housing, a compression limiter and a mounting base. The compression limiter is arranged to minimize the housing thickness in order to reduce subsequent thermal expansion effects, while maintaining packaging, stiffness and strength requirements. A spring washer can be implemented to ensure that an adequate force is applied to the housing to maintain the integrity of a leak-free interface with the mounting base.

Separable Component Assembly Having Reduced Seal Stiction

A separable component assembly is disclosed. The separable component assembly can include a first component having a first interface portion. The separable component assembly can also include a second component coupled to the first component. The second component can have a second interface portion. In addition, the separable component assembly can include a seal disposed between the first and second interface portions. The seal can have a first interface surface associated with the first interface portion. The seal can also have a second interface surface in contact with the second interface portion. Additionally, the seal can have a peel initiator defining a discontinuity in a portion of the second interface surface. Upon separation of the first and second components from one another, the discontinuity can create a stress concentration in the second interface surface that initiates peeling of the second interface surface away from the second interface portion.
