CLAMP ASSEMBLY USING PINS
A versatile clamp assembly that may be used for securing a device generally to an edge of a structure such as a raised portion of a standing seam of a metal roof. The assembly comprises a mounting body with an open loop having a slot for receiving the raised portion formed by the mounting body attaching the clamp assembly thereto. The assembly is configured with one or more pins that may be configured to be received in one or more push-pin openings formed in the mounting body, whereby the push-pin openings extend from a fastener base portion to a second arm portion. The assembly includes a fastener adapted to be received in a fastener opening formed adjacent the push-pin openings. The fastener is configured to secure and hold the clamp assembly to the standing seam by forcing the pins against the raised portion of the surface disposed in the slot.
Load Controlling Bolted Flange Deformable Spacers
Deformable spacers and spacer assemblies absorb energy when flange bolts are subjected to compressive axial loads by plastically deforming, failing in shear, rupturing or in a combination of failure modes so the flange bolts and the flanges connected thereby are not damaged. One deformable spacer may have a hollow cylindrical body with a plurality of elongated slots there through. Another deformable spacer may have an annular stiffener extending inwardly from an inner surface of a hollow cylindrical body. A spacer assembly may include an inner cylindrical body, and outer cylindrical body, and an annular shoulder extending from one of the bodies and engaged by the other body shears when a shear failure load is applied to the flange bolt. Another spacer assembly may include an annular belt around a cylindrical body so that the belt will rupture before the cylindrical body plastically deforms.
SWIVEL NUT ASSEMBLY
A swivel nut assembly is configured to adaptively secure a first component to a second component. The swivel nut assembly includes a socket nut including a first portion having a first internal threading, and a second portion defining a swivel chamber. A swivel connector includes a ball having a first external threading. The swivel connector is moved into the swivel chamber via the first external threading threadably engaging the first internal threading to move the ball into the swivel chamber. The ball is rotationally captured within the swivel chamber after the ball is moved into the swivel chamber.
SINGLE SIDE TEMPORARY FASTENER WITH CONSTANT PRESSURE FEATURE
A single side temporary fastener (SSTF) capable of maintaining a clamping force in a material stack subject to material creep or adjunct extrusion during clamp up processes is disclosed. The SSTF comprise a rotationally constrained but freely translatable collet body that is disposed within an auxiliary structure such as a fastener housing. A fastener comprises the aforementioned collet body, which at least partially translates within the aforementioned auxiliary structure, and further comprises a threaded screw for rotationally engaging with the collet body, which by way of an anti-rotation means associated therewith and with the auxiliary structure, is rotationally constrained but is free to axially translate. Constant clamping pressures are made possible in such embodiments by the inclusion of at least one biasing element between compression force transmitting elements and/or assemblies of the fasteners.
CONNECTOR ASSEMBLY INCLUDING FITTING AND PARTIALLY SPHERICAL WASHERS
A connector assembly includes a generally L-shaped fitting with a first mounting portion having a mounting hole(s), a second mounting portion extending generally angled to the first mounting portion and having a mounting hole(s) and a joint portion integrally connecting the two mounting portions. The joint portion has a load section(s) defined between a concave surface section extending between inner surfaces of the first and second mounting portions and a convex surface section extending between outer surfaces of the first and second mounting portions, the load section concave surface section having a radius of curvature. A washer has an outer perimeter surface with a section having a partially spherical profile and is sized such that the spherical surface section is disposed against the joint load section concave surface so that the washer exerts force generally against the joint load section when the washer is clamped to the second mounting portion.
Fastening structure
A sealing rubber is integrally molded to an outer peripheral face and a lower face of a flange portion of a collar, and a protruding portion is continuously formed along the circumferential direction around a through-hole in an upper face of a resin member.
Fastening portion structure of vehicle
An upper plate portion of a suspension member and a bottom plate portion of a bracket that is placed on an upper side thereof, and the like, as objects to be fastened, are sandwiched between a weld nut and an end surface on a vehicle upper side of a collar. A protruding portion that protrudes toward a bolt through-hole side of the bottom plate portion of the bracket is formed on an end portion on the vehicle upper side of the collar. The protruding portion is formed along an entire periphery around an axis of the collar. Also, a drainage groove that leads from the end surface on the vehicle upper side to an outer peripheral surface of the collar is formed in the collar.
CLAMP BOLT AND ASSOCIATED ASSEMBLY
A clamp bolt providing a bolt and two nut, each nut being screwed on an end of the bolt. The clamp bolt further including two washers, mounted around the bolt, and axially positioned between the two nuts.
FASTENING DEVICE FOR FIXING AN EXHAUST MANIFOLD ON A CYLINDER HEAD OF AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A fastening device, fixing an exhaust manifold (12) on a cylinder head (14) of an internal combustion engine, has a contact surface (20) supported relative to a cylinder head contact surface (22). A fastening edge area (16) has a wedge fastening flange area (24) with a fastening element support surface (26) inclined in relation to the contact surface (20) that has a wedge angle (W.sub.1). A fastening element (38) is pressed against the fastening element support surface (26) with a fastening flange support surface (40) with a fastening bolt unit (30) supported in relation to the cylinder head (14). The wedge angle (W.sub.1) and a coefficient of static friction (μ) of the frictional interaction of the fastening element (38) in relation to the exhaust manifold (12) is defined by: 0<W.sub.1<2 tan.sup.−1 (μ), in which W.sub.1 is the wedge angle, and μ if the coefficient of static friction.
DEVICE FOR FIXING A BLANK TO A MODULAR SUPPORT SYSTEM
A device for fixing a blank to a modular support system includes a body having cylindrical symmetry which is provided at one end with a centering collar and, in a central region, with a perimetric recess that defines an engagement undercut for a corresponding locking component of a modular support system. The body has an axial through hole for a threaded fixing element. The axial through hole is open onto a coaxial seat for resting the head of the threaded fixing element, and it has a larger diameter than the outside diameter of the stem of the threaded fixing element. The head of the threaded fixing element has a resting surface, a substantially spherical geometry, and a smaller outside diameter than the corresponding internal dimension of the resting seat in which the threaded fixing element is accommodated.
