Embodiments relate to a cradle having a continuous sidewall, an open top, and a bottom. The bottom is provided with at least one magnet attached thereto or secured within a pocket of the bottom. Some embodiments of the device include a bottom having an opening formed therein. Different embodiments of the bottom opening can have different shapes. Each bottom opening shape provides a specific bottom profile for the cradle. The bottom opening shape (or bottom profile) will dictate placement of the magnets. It is contemplated for the cradle, or at least the bottom, to be made of flexible material. Some embodiments of the cradle can be made from elastic material.

A metal ferrous plate is attached to the electronic device with adhesive, thereby providing a secure magnetic connection between the mounting apparatus and electronic device.

External components outside the helmet include an external magnet housing holding one or more external magnets and an adjuster for manual rotation. The adjuster is coupled to the external magnet housing such that the manual rotation of the adjuster causes a corresponding rotation of the external magnet housing. Magnetic coupling between the one or more internal magnets and the one or more external magnets causes the corresponding rotation also in the magnet assembly and the swing arm.

The mounting bracket is configured to prevent the rotating shaft from deviating from the axis by generating a force between the first magnetic element and the second magnetic element in a radial direction of the rotating shaft.

The supported body can be in the form of a plate, a coaster, a placemat, or other known configuration. Alternatively, a support body can be releasably secured to a table top or other support surface by a releasable attaching device such as a suction cup and a supported body can be releasably attached to a piece of tableware or dishware by a releasable attaching device such as a suction cup, and the support body and the supported body can be magnetically attached to each other.
