BEARING ISOLATOR SEAL WITH TAPERED STATIC SHUTOFF O-RING INTERFACE
A bearing isolator seal having a shut off O-ring is tolerant of axial rotor-stator misalignment and provides an enhanced static seal while minimizing rotational wear. A tapered section of the stator is overlapped by the shut off O-ring. When the rotor is static there is no axial misalignment, and the shut off O-ring is pressed against the tapered section, forming an enhanced seal. During rotor rotation, increased axial misalignment moves the O-ring away from the tapered section, reducing rotational wear. The stator can extend horizontally beyond the tapered section and below the O-ring, so that if the rotor moves beyond a maximum misalignment, there is a “line on line” fit between the stator and rotor. The bearing isolator seal can include labyrinth technology, and the tapered section can include a contour that allows the shutoff O-ring to drag along the surface of the tapered section with no hang-ups or binding.
Bearing assembly
A bearing assembly, such as for a wind turbine or a tidal turbine including a tower and a nacelle, includes a lower part that is attachable to the tower, an upper part that is attachable to the nacelle, a bearing that rotatably couples the lower part to the upper part to allow rotation of the nacelle with respect to the tower, and a brake mechanism configured to selectively prevent relative rotation of the upper part and the lower part. The brake mechanism includes a brake disc and a brake caliper.

Method for mounting an annular sealing element
A method for assembling an annular seal element, formed by a sealing cord which runs around an opening on a seal receptacle which runs around on the outside of a component. The method includes introducing two assembly fingers into the opening of the annular seal element, stretching the annular seal element by moving the assembly fingers apart from one another, with the formation of a cord portion of the sealing cord, the cord portion being freely tensioned between the assembly fingers, placing the freely tensioned cord portion onto the seal receptacle in a contact region, applying the annular seal element, by way of its opening, onto the seal receptacle, and removing the assembly fingers from the annular seal element. The assembly fingers are moved so as to follow the profile of the seal receptacle, to travel around the seal receptacle in opposite directions.

PROTECTIVE COVER AND BEARING DEVICE INCLUDING PROTECTIVE COVER
The present invention is intended to provide a protective cover, comprising an inner ring 12 with an inner ring track surface 12A on an outer peripheral surface; an outer ring 13 with an outer ring track surface 13A on an inner peripheral surface; a bearing with rolling elements 14 between the inner ring track surface 12A and the outer ring track surface 13A; a magnetic encoder 8 that is positioned at one axial end portion of the bearing and fixed to the inner ring 12; and a magnetic sensor that is fixed to the outer ring 13, a cup-shaped protective cover 1 press-fitted into the outer ring 13 to cover the magnetic encoder 8 and intervene between the magnetic encoder 8 and the magnetic sensor is formed by performing cold press molding of an austenitic stainless steel plate material with a nickel content of 8.5 to 13 weight %.
Bearing system with lubricated exclusion seal
A bearing system includes a bearing housing configured to house a bearing and enclosing a free volume for receiving a lubricant, a bearing, a pump configured to pump lubricant into the free volume, a shaft in an opening in the housing rotatably supported by the bearing, an exclusion seal between the shaft opening and the shaft that is repeatably and non-destructively shiftable from a sealing state in which it substantially prevents lubricant from leaving the free volume and a release state in which it allows lubricant to escape between the exclusion seal and the shaft. The exclusion seal is caused to shift by increasing and decreasing a pressure in the bearing housing, and the system includes a controller configured to repeatedly shift the exclusion seal by raising and lowering the pressure in the free volume to continuously maintain a lubricating film between the exclusion seal and the shaft.
Hub unit bearing
Provided is a hub unit bearing wherein a cover can be firmly fitted with an outer ring member, and it is difficult for foreign matter to enter inside through a water drainage hole formed in the cover. The cover that covers the inside end section in the axial direction of the hub unit bearing includes a disk section, a small-diameter cylindrical section bent in the axial direction from the outer perimeter edge section of the disk section and a large-diameter cylindrical section. A cut and raised section that is cut and raised toward the inside in the radial direction is formed in the small-diameter cylindrical section, and a water drainage hole that passes through from inside to outside the cover is provided in the portion that is cut and separated from the small-diameter cylindrical section.
CORROSION INHIBITING SPRAYABLE THERMOPLASTIC COVER FOR MECHANICAL ASSEMBLIES, AND METHODS OF MAKING AND USING
A Corrosion Inhibiting Sprayable Thermoplastic (“CIST”) cover is formed by spraying melted CIST onto a mold, allowing the CIST to cure, removing the cured cover from the mold using a series of cuts if necessary, positioning the cover on a mechanical assembly whose shape is significantly identical to the mold, and fusing the cuts on the cover using heat to reform the cover on the mechanical assembly.
Cycloidal Marine Propulsion Unit And A Marine Vessel Equipped Therewith
A cycloidal marine propulsion unit, including a hollow rotary casing having a central axis and defining a central inner space with an opening at an axial end thereof. A mounting body rotatably supports the rotary casing on a hull of a marine vessel. A rotating arrangement is provided for rotating said hollow rotary casing, while a plurality of blades extend axially from the rotary casing away from the hull. Each blade is mounted for pivotal movement with respect to the rotary casing, about respective blade axes. The rotating arrangement is configured to rotate the rotary casing by a circumference thereof. A blade shaft portion of each blade is at least partly received within the central inner space so as to attach said blade to the rotary casing.
