Rolling bearing having a sensor and drive unit

A rolling bearing (1) has an outer ring (3) and an inner ring (2) that can rotate in relation to the outer ring (3). A sensor (8) is arranged on the outer ring (3) and a master ring (13) is arranged on the inner ring (2). The master ring (13) can be detected by the sensor (8). The master ring (13) has an electrically conductive section (15), and a contact element (10) fixed on the outer ring (3) bears against the electrically conductive section (15) of the master ring (13).

ROLLING BEARING UNIT

A rolling bearing unit includes: an inner ring member having a recess on a first side in an axial direction, the recess being recessed toward a second side in the axial direction; an outer ring member disposed on the outer periphery side of the inner ring member; a rolling body disposed between the inner ring member and the outer ring member and rotatably supporting the inner ring member with respect to the outer ring member; a transmitter capable of transmitting at least one of electric power or a signal, at least a part of the transmitter being accommodated inside the recess of the inner ring member; and a covering member that is supported by the first side of the outer ring member in the axial direction, covers the first side of the inner ring member in the axial direction, and fixes the transmitter.

COMBINED INSULATOR AND CONDUCTOR ASSEMBLY FOR BEARINGS WITH PRONG-LOCKED CONDUCTOR

A combined insulator and conductor assembly is for a bearing disposable between a shaft and a housing and includes an annular insulator disposeable about the bearing outer ring. The insulator is configured to prevent electric current flow between the outer ring and the housing and includes one or more axial mounting tabs. An electrical conductor has an outer radial end, an inner radial end and at least one retainer, the at least one retainer being engageable with the at least one mounting tab to releasably couple the conductor with the insulator. Each retainer includes a radially-extending prong engageable with a separate tab. The conductor outer radial end or/and a portion of the conductor between the outer and inner ends is conductively engageable with the housing and the conductor inner radial end being conductively engageable with the shaft so as to provide a conductive path between the shaft and the housing.

COMBINED INSULATOR AND CONDUCTOR ASSEMBLY FOR BEARINGS WITH CLIP-MOUNTED CONDUCTOR

A combined electrical insulator and conductor assembly for a bearing disposable between a shaft and a housing. An annular insulator is disposeable about the bearing and configured to prevent electric current flow between an outer ring and the housing. An electrical conductor has retainer(s) releasably engaged with the insulator so as to couple the conductor with the bearing, an outer radial end and an inner radial end. The conductor outer radial end, or/and a portion of the conductor between the outer and inner ends, is conductively engageable with the housing and the conductor inner radial end is conductively engageable with the shaft so as to provide an electrically conductive path between the shaft and the housing. Preferably, the conductor includes a conductive disk having arcuate retainer clips engageable with an insulator groove of the insulator and a brush subassembly including conductive fibers engaged with the shaft outer surface.

SLIDING MEMBER

One aspect of the disclosure relates to a sliding member. The sliding member includes: a first sliding portion having a first lubricant placed between first parts of a first friction sliding mechanism; and a second sliding portion having a second lubricant placed between second parts of a second friction sliding mechanism. The first sliding portion has a lubricant feed port from which the first lubricant is fed, and the second sliding portion has no lubricant feed port from which the second lubricant is fed. The first lubricant contains base oil and an additive. The second lubricant contains base oil and an additive containing conductive carbon. The second lubricant contains a relatively larger amount of conductive carbon than the first lubricant.

BEARING WITH AN INTEGRATED ELECTRICAL SHUNT

A bearing includes an integrated electrical shunt. The shunt includes electrically conductive fibers sandwiched between two washers, at least one of which is electrically conductive. The fibers are fastened to the electrically conductive washer by electrically conductive epoxy. An outer shield protects the fibers. The outer shield is held to the washers by a drawn cup. The washers, the drawn cup, and the outer shield all have oil drain holes to allow lubricant to flow to the rollers.
