Ceramic Ball Material, Method For Manufacturing Ceramic Ball Using Same, And Ceramic Ball
A ceramic ball material according to the present embodiment includes a spherical portion, and a band-shaped portion formed over a circumference of a surface of the spherical portion. The band-shaped portion has a width in a range of 0.5 mm or more and 4.0 mm or less, both shoulders of which are provided with an R section having a radius of curvature of 0.02 mm or more. Any one of aluminum oxide, silicon nitride, boron nitride, and zirconium oxide is used as the ceramic.
BEARING COMPONENT HAVING A METALLIC BASE BODY AND AN ALLOY- STEEL COATING
A bearing component such as a bearing ring includes a metallic base body and at least one alloy steel coating on the base body, the coating being applied to the base body by deposition welding. The base body is preferably non-alloy steel or cast iron, and the alloy includes at least one carbide-forming transition metal such as niobium, tantalum, zirconium, titanium, hafnium, tungsten, molybdenum, vanadium, or manganese. The coating can form a raceway of the bearing component or a structural element such as a flange. Also a method of forming such a bearing component is provided.
Screw compressor element and machine
A screw compressor element may have a housing; a cylinder bearing including an inner ring, an outer ring, a raceway, and a cylindrical rolling element that contacts the inner ring and the outer ring at a location of the raceway thereof; and a ball bearing including an inner ring, an outer ring, a raceway, and a ball shaped rolling element that contacts the inner ring and the outer ring at a location of the raceway thereof, wherein a rotor is rotatably arranged by way of the cylinder bearing and the ball bearing.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR HYBRID BEARING DESIGN
A hybrid bearing assembly includes a bushing. A sleeve is rotationally disposed within the bushing and a support layer is disposed around an outer perimeter of the bushing. A protective sleeve is disposed abutting the sleeve. A protective bushing is disposed abutting the bushing.
Methods of manufacturing combination thrust-bearing and radial bearing apparatuses
Embodiments of the invention relate to bearing apparatuses in which one bearing surface of the bearing apparatus includes diamond, while another bearing surface includes a non-diamond superhard material (e.g., silicon carbide). For example, a bearing apparatus may include a bearing stator assembly and a bearing rotor assembly. The bearing stator assembly and bearing rotor assembly each include a support ring and one or more superhard bearing elements generally opposed to one another. The bearing surface(s) of the rotor or stator may include diamond, while the bearing surface(s) of the other of the rotor or stator do not include diamond. Another bearing apparatus may include both thrust- and radial bearing components. The generally opposed thrust-bearing elements may include diamond, while the generally opposed radial bearing elements may not include diamond, but include a non-diamond superhard material, such as silicon carbide.
INSULATING DEVICE FOR A BEARING
An insulating device for a bearing mountable within a housing, the bearing having an inner ring and an outer ring with an outer circumferential surface and opposing axial ends and a plurality of rolling elements disposed there between. The insulating device comprises: a first annular part, which is adapted to be in contact to the outer circumferential surface of the outer ring, and a second annular part, which is also adapted to be in contact to the outer circumferential surface of the outer ring. The first and second part form the insulation device which is adapted to contact, in an assembled state of the bearing in the housing, both the outer ring and the housing. The first part is thermally conductive and electrically insulating and the second part is electrically insulating and less thermally conductive than the first part or is not thermally conductive.
Gas turbine engine including seal assembly with abradable coating including magnetic particles embedded in polymer
A gas turbine engine according to an exemplary aspect of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a compressor section, a combustor section, a turbine section, and at least one rotatable shaft. The engine further includes a seal assembly including a seal plate mounted for rotation with the rotatable shaft and a face seal in contact with the seal plate at a contact area. The seal assembly further includes an abradable coating adjacent the contact area. The abradable coating includes magnetic particles embedded in a polymer material.
ROLLING BEARING
An object of the present invention is to provide a rolling bearing which makes use of a porous rolling element and a selected kind of lubricant to impregnate with; is usable in various conditions; does not discharge foreign objects; and features low dust generation and long life. A rolling bearing includes an outer ring 2; an inner ring 1; and a plurality of rolling elements 3 assembled between mutually opposed outer ring track surface 2a and inner ring track surface 1a. The plurality of rolling elements 3 is provided by a combination of a porous rolling element 3a impregnated with a lubricant and a non-porous rolling element 3b.
Ceramic bearing system
An example of a ceramic bearing system includes a shaft comprising two radially extending shoulders that define a channel therebetween, a first tolerance ring disposed in the channel of the shaft, and a bearing assembly comprising a ceramic bearing. The bearing assembly is positioned around the first tolerance ring and has an axial length that is longer than an axial length of the first tolerance ring.
SLIDING ELEMENT COMPRISING A PIGMENT
A sliding element for an engine may include a polymer-based overlay layer and a metallic substrate. The polymer-based overlay layer may include a polymer-based matrix, a metal particulate, and a pigment. The pigment may have a hardness of at least 4 on the Mohs hardness scale.
