AIRCRAFT LANDING GEAR ASSEMBLY
An aircraft landing gear assembly including structural members coupled via a coupling including a bearing. The bearing has a body defining a first bearing surface arranged to contact a first counter-face of the coupling. The first bearing surface is defined by a first tubular layer of fibre reinforced polymer of a first type having an axis and containing synthetic fibres of a first type wound around and along the axis of the bearing. The bearing body further has a second tubular layer of fibre reinforced polymer of a second type containing synthetic fibres of a second type wound around and along the axis of the bearing.
Polymer coating on substrates using thermal spray techniques
A laminate article can include a substrate and a layer of a heterogeneous mixture of a non-fluorinated polymer compound and a fluorinated polymer compound. The laminate article can include a gradual concentration gradient along an axis perpendicular to the substrate. The gradual concentration gradient can include the change of the amount of the non-fluorinated polymer and the fluorinated polymer compound relative to the axis perpendicular to the substrate. The layer can further include at least one filler. The laminate can be applied as a bearing material.
LINK ROD FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE
A link rod for a motor vehicle, with a connecting rod (4) designed with an open profile that extends in an axial direction (x), which comprises a back (8) and two opposed sidepieces (9, 10) which are connected to one another by the back (8), extending away from the back so as to enclose an angle (a) of less than 180° between them. Two joints (2, 3) are connected to one another by the connecting rod (4), each joint comprises a joint housing (5) and an inner joint component (6) that is fitted and able to move in the housing and extends outwardly therefrom. The connecting rod (4) is embedded, at its respective axial ends, in one of the joint housings (5), and the sidepieces (9, 10) enclose an angle (α) of at least 90° between them.
Composite Bearing with Enhanced Wear and Machinability
A self-lubricating composite material is disclosed. The self-lubricating composite material can include discontinuous polymer fiber segments dispersed within a woven matrix of semi-continuous thermoplastic fiber. The woven matrix can be embedded within a thermosetting resin. Also disclosed are methods of manufacturing the self-lubricating composite material.
SLIDING MEMBER
A sliding member includes a back metal layer and a sliding layer on the back metal layer. The sliding layer includes a synthetic resin matrix and graphite particles dispersed in the matrix in a volume ratio of 5-50% of that of the sliding layer. The graphite particles are composed of spheroidal and flake-like particles. The flake-like particles have a volume ratio of 10-40% of total graphite particles. The spheroidal particles have a cross-sectional structure with a plurality of AB planes of a graphite crystal laminated along a curved particle surface, from the surface toward a center direction. The flake-like graphite particles have a cross-sectional structure with the plurality of AB planes laminated in a thickness direction of the thin plate shape. The spheroidal particles have an average particle size of 3-50 μm, and the flake-like graphite particles have an average particle size of 1-25 μm.
PROTECTIVE COVER HAVING SENSOR HOLDER PART, BEARING DEVICE INCLUDING THE PROTECTIVE COVER, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING THE PROTECTIVE COVER HAVING THE SENSOR HOLDER PART
The protective cover having a cup shape is mounted to an outer ring of a bearing so as to seal an inward-side end portion of the bearing. A protective cover includes: a disc part made of a synthetic resin; and a sensor holder part that is made of the synthetic resin and protrudes inward from the disc part. The disc part is provided with a separation wall which separates the magnetic encoder and the magnetic sensor from each other. The separation wall has a surface facing the magnetic encoder and a surface facing the magnetic sensor, and one of the surfaces has a mark of a gas drainage pin of an injection molding die.
BUCKLING RESISTANT COMPOSITE SHAFT AND METHOD OF MAKING A BUCKLING RESISTANT COMPOSITE SHAFT
A composite shaft includes a shaft body formed from a plurality of polymer impregnated fiber-reinforced material layers having an annular outer surface and an annular inner surface defining a passage. A plurality of internal support members extend along the passage. Each of the plurality of internal support members includes a support body formed from molded plastic having an outer surface that abuts the annular inner surface of the support body, a first end, an opposing second end, and a circular end wall arranged at one of the first end and the opposing second end.
DRIVE SHAFT AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREFOR
A drive shaft includes a first shaft member made of metal, a tubular member made of CFRP, and a first exterior sleeve. The first shaft member is capable of being attached on one end side thereof to a first constant velocity joint, and has a first serrated part on which serrations are formed on another end side thereof. The tubular member is formed with a first fitting part fitted externally over the first serrated part. The first exterior sleeve covers the first fitting part by being disposed to extend over outer circumferential surfaces of the first shaft member and the tubular member.
