Compositions and methods for the treatment of severe pain
The invention relates to the compounds of formula I or its pharmaceutical acceptable salts, as well as polymorphs, solvates, enantiomers, stereoisomers and hydrates thereof. The pharmaceutical compositions comprising an effective amount of compounds of formula I, and methods for the treatment of severe pain may be formulated for oral, buccal, rectal, topical, transdermal, transmucosal, intravenous, parenteral administration, syrup, or injection. Such compositions may be used to treatment of chronic pain, generalized pain disorders, leukemia, cancer, chronic pain, chemotherapy induced pain, epilepsy, migraine, neuropathic pain, post herpetic neuralgia, neuralgia, pain, drug addiction, detoxification of drugs, Alzheimer's disease, multiple sclerosis, multiple sclerosis, restless legs syndrome (RLS), cluster headache, depression, fibromyalgia, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), convulsions, partial seizures, mood-stabilizing agent and bipolar disorder.
PYRIDINES AND PYRIMIDINES AND USE THEREOF
The present disclosure provides pyridines and pyrimidines of Formula I and pharmaceutically acceptable salts and solvates thereof: wherein A, G, W.sup.1, W.sup.2, W.sup.3, and R.sup.5 are defined as set forth in the specification. The present disclosure also provides uses of the compounds of Formula I and pharmaceutically acceptable salts and solvates thereof. In certain embodiments, Compounds of the present disclosure are useful for treating pain. In another embodiment, Compounds of the present disclosure are useful for treating a disorder responsive to blockade of sodium channels, or alleviating symptoms of the disorder.

USE OF CANNABINOIDS IN THE TREATMENT OF EPILEPSY
The present invention relates to the use of cannabidiol (CBD) in the treatment of focal seizures. In one embodiment the patients suffering from focal seizures are children and young adults. CBD appears particularly effective in reducing focal seizures in patients suffering with etiologies that include: Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome; Tuberous Sclerosis Complex; Dravet Syndrome; CDKL5; Neuronal ceroid lipofuscinoses (NCL); febrile infection related epilepsy syndrome (FIRES); Aicardi syndrome and brain abnormalities in comparison to other seizure types. Significantly CBD additionally is very effective in the reduction of a sub-type of focal seizures, focal seizures with impairment.
PHARMACEUTICAL COMBINATION FOR PREVENTING OR TREATING EPILEPTIC SEIZURE AND THE USE THEREOF
The present disclosure provides a traditional Chinese medicine combination for preventing or treating epileptic seizure and use in the preparation a medication. The traditional Chinese medicine combination has the characteristics of high efficiency, safety, and convenience and can effectively prevent or treat epileptic seizure while, and may be further combined with other anti-epileptic drugs to enhance the anti-epileptic effects and reduce medication side effects. The present disclosure also provides a method of preventing or treating epileptic seizure with the traditional Chinese medicine combination or a pharmaceutical combination.
Use of cannabinoids in the treatment of epilepsy
The present invention relates to the use of cannabidiol (CBD) in the treatment of patients with childhood-onset epilepsy who are concurrently taking immunosuppressant drugs. In particular the immunosuppressant drug is a calcineurin inhibitor. More particularly the immunosuppressant drug is tacrolimus. Where the CBD is used in combination with an immunosuppressant drug, caution should be taken. For example, the dose of either the CBD and/or the immunosuppressant drug may be required to be reduced. Moreover, the patient may need to be monitored for side effects of said drug-drug interaction. Preferably the CBD used is in the form of a highly purified extract of cannabis such that the CBD is present at greater than 98% of the total extract (w/w) and the other components of the extract are characterised. In particular the cannabinoid tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) has been substantially removed, to a level of not more than 0.15% (w/w) and the propyl analogue of CBD, cannabidivarin, (CBDV) is present in amounts of up to 1%. Alternatively, the CBD may be a synthetically produced CBD.
