Joint housing of a ball joint as well as method for mounting the joint housing on a carrier element
This invention relates to a joint housing (10) of a ball joint (12), comprising a sheet-metal part (14) for accommodating a ball head (16), which is substantially rotationally symmetrical with respect to a joint axis (A) and includes a circumferential wall portion (18), wherein the circumferential wall portion (18) includes a housing opening (26) at an axial end (24), through which a joint pin (28) can extend, wherein the sheet-metal part (14) is formed with two layers at this axial end (24) of the circumferential wall portion (18). Furthermore, the invention also relates to a method for mounting such joint housing (10) on a carrier element (34).
Closure element for a ball-and-socket joint, and ball-and-socket joint having a closure element of this kind
A closure element (1, 28) for a ball joint (16) in a vehicle. The closure element has a receptacle (2, 29) for accommodating an electronic component (6). To be able to reduce the effort and cost of creating an interface, between the closure element and the electronic component, the closure element (1, 28) has a receptacle (2, 29) which is made of a plastic material and is injection-molded onto one side (3) of the closure element (1).
RESIN PULLEY
A resin pulley includes a rolling bearing having an outer race. The outer race has, on the radially outer surface, two annular grooves, and an annular protrusion between the annular grooves. The annular protrusion has recesses and projections disposed circumferentially alternating with the recesses, the recesses and the projections being formed by straight knurling by rolling on the radially outer surface of the annular protrusion such that both ends thereof extend to the respective annular grooves. The diameter of the circle that contacts, from radially inwardly, bottoms of the recesses is larger than that of the circular bottom of each annular groove. The pulley body includes protrusions formed by filling a molten resin in the recesses and solidifying the molten resin, when forming the pulley body on the radially outer surface of the outer race by resin molding. This prevents creep of the outer race.
Wheel Bearing Apparatus
A wheel bearing apparatus has a magnetic encoder 14 mounted on an inner ring 5 opposing the rotational speed sensor 16, via the cap 10 and an air gap. The cap 10 has a cylindrical fitting part 10a press-fit into an inner circumference of an end of the outer member 2. A shielding part 10c extends radially inward from the fitting part 10a and has an annular disc shape. A detection part 16a of the rotational speed sensor 16 is arranged close to or in contact with a side surface of the shielding part 10c. The cap 10 is formed of austenitic stainless steel sheet based on SUS 304. The carbon (C) content is reduced and the nickel (Ni) content is increased. A difference of magnetic flux density between a martensitic transformation part and non-martensite part is 1.4 mT or less.
WATER LUBRICATED COMPOSITE THRUST BEARING OF NUCLEAR MAIN PUMP
A water lubricated composite thrust bearing of a nuclear main pump has a stainless steel base and an engineering plastic layer. The stainless steel base is provided with a concave-convex surface connected to the engineering plastic layer. The concave-convex surface and the engineering plastic layer are compositely molded by means of thermoplastic compound molding. A ratio of the area of the concave-convex surface to the area of an orthographic projection of the concave-convex surface on the stainless steel base ranges from 1.2 to 2. By means of the concave-convex surface and a specific bonding property obtained after fusion of a rough face and the engineering plastic layer, the concave-convex surface is bonded with the engineering plastic layer, thereby forming a reliable composite thrust bearing that is physically connected onto a whole.
TRANSMISSION OUTPUT SHAFT VIBRATION DAMPENER
A transmission includes a transmission housing having an output shaft flange including a central passage. An output shaft extends through the central passage. The output shaft defines a shaft axis and including an axial end portion. A vibration dampener is mounted to the axial end portion of the output shaft, and a mechanical fastener is received by the axial end portion of the output shaft. The mechanical fastener operatively connects the vibration dampener to the output shaft.
Air foil bearing and method for manufacturing the same
An air foil bearing includes a sleeve that defines a hollow portion having an irregular curvature, where the hollow portion is configured to receive a rotor, a bump foil that is disposed at an inner peripheral surface of the sleeve, and a top foil that is disposed at the bump foil.
Anti-friction bearing comprising a discharging device, and method for the discharge of electrostatic charges
A roller bearing including a conduction apparatus and a method for conducting electrostatic charges at a roller bearing, the conduction apparatus including at least one elastic conductor having a first conductor section and a second conductor section for forming a contact assembly on the roller bearing, the first conductor section being mounted on a first bearing ring of the roller bearing and the second conductor section being mounted on a second bearing ring of the roller bearing, an electrically conductive connection being established between the first bearing ring and the second bearing ring. The conductor is supported at the first bearing ring, the first conductor section being inserted into at least a straight recess of the first bearing ring.
Bearing and housing support for intermediate drive shaft
A bearing and housing support including a bearing outer ring overmolded with a thermoplastic bearing housing. The support arranged to support and engage with an intermediate drive shaft of a vehicle.
Retaining clamp for molded plastics
Retaining clamps for retaining an over-molded plastic component to a substrate are disclosed herein that include a generally annular band having an inner surface, which defines an inner cavity for receiving a substrate rotatable about a central axis, and an opposing outer surface, which receives an over molded plastic component. The clamps have a plurality of axially extending retaining features formed in the annular band. The retaining features define a trough in the inner surface and a first crest in the outer surface or define a coupling portion forming a second crest. The retaining features are evenly spaced a distance apart along the generally annular band. A pulley body assembly is disclosed having a retaining clamp seated about an outer ring of a bearing for retaining a pulley body over-molded thereto. A method for over-molding a plastic component to a substrate using the retaining clamp is also disclosed herein.
