Machine structural member with nesting linear slides
10288115 · 2019-05-14 ·

An improved design and method is disclosed that uses a novel nesting linear slide which incorporates machine tool slides or ways into a structural member. The design simplifies the fabrication and assembly of components requiring accurate sliding alignment, such as milling machine bases, saddles, tables and columns. Due to the use of the single piece, which replaces multiple pieces in the prior art, fabrication and assembly costs are also significantly lower. The invention also enables a method of construction utilizing the novel single shape component which simplifies the assembly of machines requiring sliding surfaces with accurate alignment. The invention essentially comprises a single structural element that includes both male and female sliding members. By nesting two of the single structural elements it is possible to create sliding joints for machine tool bases, saddles, tables, and columns, as well as a wide variety of other sliding joints, in an extremely cost-effective manner. The linear slide includes a deformable element that allows for accurate alignment with no play and creates a strongly supported sliding joint.

Cam follower with tire having axial movement compensating features

A bearing assembly for a cam follower assembly for a ram assembly for a metal can production necker includes two or more bearings. Each of the bearing includes an inner ring positioned within an outer ring and a plurality of rolling elements positioned therebetween. The bearing assembly includes a tire press fit on the outer rings of the bearings. The tire has an elongate body portion that extends between a first radially inward projecting shoulder and a second radially inward projecting shoulder. A radially inward facing surface extends between the first radially inward projecting shoulder and the second radially inward projecting shoulder. The first radially inward projecting shoulder extends further radially inward than the second radially inward projecting shoulder.

A shaft assembly includes a yoke. The yoke defines a first bore and a second bore. The first bore extends from a first face towards a second face along a first axis. The first bore has a key that extends towards the first axis. The second bore extends from a third face towards a fourth face along a second axis that is disposed transverse to the first axis. The third face and the fourth face each extend between the first face and the second face.

DRIVESHAFT ASSEMBLIES AND COMPRESSORS INCLUDING THE SAME

A driveshaft assembly for a compressor includes an unloader assembly and a driveshaft. The unloader assembly includes an unloader and a counterweight. The unloader assembly is rotationally supported by a bearing. The unloader includes a flank surface that is slidably engaged with a flank surface on the driveshaft.

JOURNAL FOIL AIR BEARING FOR PREVENTING SEPARATION OF TOP FOIL
20240271658 · 2024-08-15 ·

Provided is a journal foil air bearing for supporting a load applied along a radial direction of a rotating shaft rotating about a centerline, the journal foil air bearing including a first top foil disposed to face an outer circumferential surface of the rotating shaft and surround the rotating shaft, a second top foil disposed to surround the first top foil, a bump foil provided as an elastically deformable member and disposed to surround the second top foil, a base foil disposed to surround the bump foil, and at least one separation preventer provided on the first top foil to restrain the first top foil from being separated along a longitudinal direction of the rotating shaft, wherein the separation preventer protrudes a preset length toward the second top foil and is restrained by the second top foil from moving in the longitudinal direction of the rotating shaft. According to the present invention, because the first top foil does not escape in the longitudinal direction of the rotating shaft during operation, the performance of the bearing may not be reduced and serious secondary damage due to the contact between the escaped first top foil and other components may not be caused.
