There is provided an apparatus for delivering a flow of gas having a controller, a housing defining a gasflow passage, a motor with an impeller to deliver gas through the gasflow passage, and a flexible printed circuit electrically connected to the motor for electrically connecting the motor to the controller. There is also provided an apparatus for delivering a flow of gas having a housing defining a gasflow passage. The gas flowing through the gasflow passage is a high concentration oxygen gas. The apparatus has a motor with windings and an impeller to deliver gas through the gasflow passage, and an elastomeric shield to pneumatically isolate the windings from the gasflow passage.

Wheel and lift unit for radiation imaging modalities
Among other things, a radiation system is provided. The radiation system includes a stationary unit and a rotating unit that rotates about an axis relative to the stationary unit. A radiation source and a detector array are mounted to the rotating unit. A wheel mechanism at least partially supports the rotating unit and facilitates rotation of the rotating unit relative to the stationary unit. A lift unit is supported by the stationary unit and engages the rotating unit. When the lift unit is in a lowered position, the rotating unit is supported by the wheel mechanism and the lift unit is spaced a distance apart from the rotating unit. When the lift unit is in a raised position, the rotating unit is supported by the lift unit and the rotating unit is spaced a second distance apart from the wheel mechanism.
NON-CANTILEVERED MAGNETIC BEARING FOR DRUM-SHAPED VERTICAL ROTORS
A magnetic bearing assembly is for levitating a generally drum-shaped, vertical rotor such that the drum itself is the target of magnetic actuators. The magnetic bearing assembly basically includes at least one active radial actuator configured to center the drum-shaped rotor in an annular air gap so as to enable contactless rotation. The one or more radial actuators are configured to act principally against gravity and is/are located in essentially the same vertical plane as a center of gravity of the drum-shaped rotor.
DOUBLE ROW ANGULAR BALL BEARING FOR CT SCANNING DEVICE
A double-row angular contact ball bearing for a CT scanning device includes an inner member including a pair of raceway rings. The raceway rings have positioning holes into which a positioning member is inserted, to thereby suppress radial decentering of the raceway rings. Both the raceway rings are fastened by fixing bolts. The raceway rings have opposed end surfaces, and are fastened by the fixing bolts to bring the end surfaces into abutment against each other to apply a preload at a fixed position between balls and raceway surfaces. The following relationship is set: Db/h≦0.26, where Db represents a diameter of each of the balls, and h represents a radial dimension from a center of each of the balls to an inner diameter of the inner member.
Selectively lockable ball and socket joint
A ball and socket joint assembly is disclosed that includes a body defining a cavity, a collet disposed in the cavity to receive a ball of a connector, and an actuator shaft coupled to the collet for rotating and translating the collet in the cavity. The cavity has a distal opening to accept the ball and an engagement feature extending into the cavity. The collet has an outer diameter larger than the opening in the body when the ball is disposed in the collet, and the collet has a corresponding engagement feature around at least a portion of the outer surface for receiving the engagement feature and converting rotation of the compression member into translation of the compression member along a proximal-distal axis of the body. The collet is compressed against the opening of the cavity when the collet is advanced distally against the opening.
HYDRODYNAMIC BEARING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPERATING SAID HYDRODYNAMIC BEARING SYSTEM
Systems and methods related to hydrodynamic bearings for use in X-ray sources are provided. In one aspect, a hydrodynamic bearing system includes a sleeve assembly including a cross-member fluidically dividing a first interior cavity from a second interior cavity, a first shaft positioned in the first interior cavity, and a second shaft positioned in the second interior cavity. The hydrodynamic bearing system may further include a first journal bearing including a first fluid interface surrounding at least a portion of the first cantilever shaft and configured to support radial loads and a second journal bearing including a second fluid interface surrounding at least a portion of the second cantilever shaft and configured to support radial loads.

This document describes an exoskeleton device that includes a cable, a lever that is connected to the cable, a frame comprising a strut that redirects the cable toward the lever, wherein the frame is coupled to the lever by a rotational joint; and a motor that is connected to the cable and configured to cause the cable to provide a torque about the rotational joint, wherein the cable is configured to provide the torque by exerting a first force on the lever and a second force on the frame, and wherein the cable is further configured to provide the torque in a first rotational direction and is prevented from applying the torque in an opposite rotational direction to the first rotational direction.

The caster housing may include an opening. The caster may include a caster wheel and a caster stem extending through the opening in the caster housing. The caster stem may be configured to rotate relative to the caster housing. The locking element may be coupled to the caster stem. The first bearing may be coupled to the caster stem. The biasing element may be coupled to the caster stem. The biasing element may be configured to exert a force on the first bearing.

The collet is compressed against the opening of the cavity when the collet is advanced distally against the opening.
