ROLLING STAND FOR THE ROLLING OF ROLLING STOCK
20180207696 · 2018-07-26 ·

The invention relates to a rolling stand for the rolling of metallic rolling stock. The rolling is achieved with the aid of a roll of which the two roll journals (112) are rotatably mounted in recesses (122) of chocks (120). The recesses are supplied with coolant and/or lubricant via a high-pressure inlet (124) and at least one low-pressure inlet (126). The high-pressure inlet is fed via high-pressure conduits (132) from a high-pressure pump (130). To reduce the costs for driving the high-pressure pump in relation to the prior art, the invention provides that the high-pressure pump is rotationally coupled to the roll journal via a gear mechanism in order to be driven thereby.

BEARING SYSTEM AND METHOD

A bearing system includes: a rotatable shaft, a circumferential channel in the shaft with an axially extending profile surface at least part of which is inclined relative to the shaft axis; a bearing, around the shaft in use; a split ring in the circumferential channel in contact with the inclined profile surface, the split ring includes a first part having an outer diameter, and a second part having a greater outer diameter than the first part to provide a thrust surface; a collar, including an internal bore to accommodate the first part of the split ring in use; and a bearing locator for exerting an axial locating force between the split ring and the bearing to locate the bearing on the shaft. An axial thrust load exerted on the split ring by the shaft is transmitted to the collar by the thrust surface, and the split ring is urged along the inclined profile surface so as to produce a radial load on the split ring which is resisted by the collar.

Bearing preloading device

In a bearing preloading device in which a compression coil spring is used, a hole is defined in a bearing race or in a separate member axially opposed to the bearing race. The hole has an inner periphery constituted by a threaded portion connected to a bottom surface of the hole, and a shallow hole portion connected to an edge of the hole. An inner diameter of the shallow hole portion is larger than an inner diameter of the threaded portion.

A roll stand (1) includes a roll (3), in particular a backup roll, mounted via oil film bearings (2). Each oil film bearing (2) has a sealing system for sealing the oil film bearing (2) to prevent oil leakage and a coolant ingress. The oil film bearing (2) is integrated into an oil-circulating lubrication system (4), which is fluidically connected to the oil film bearing (2) via oil feed lines (5) and an oil discharge line (6). A first sensor (11) is arranged in the oil feed line (5) and a second sensor (12) is arranged in the oil discharge line (6). The two sensors (11, 12) are designed to determine the coolant content in the relevant oil volume flow.

ROLL ASSEMBLY FOR ROLLS IN A ROLLING MILL
20170157656 · 2017-06-08 ·

To increase the load-carrying capacity or rolling capacity of a roll assembly in a rolling mill, throttle elements are used, which shut off the lateral flow of the lubricating film in a partial region between the roll neck and the bearing surface of the roll neck bearing assembly, thereby bringing about an increase in pressure in the lubricating film. At least one throttle element is embodied as an annular segment, forming an angular shut-off region for the lubricant in the annular gap. The invention makes it possible for existing installations to be easily retrofitted, without the need for structural modifications. In the case of new installations, the same load-carrying capacity as before can be provided while the dimensions of the installation space are reduced. The load-carrying capacity of the bearing assembly can be flexibly adjusted based on the dimensions of the shut-off region for the flow of lubricant.

SPHERICAL ROLLER BEARING

A spherical roller bearing includes at least one outer ring and one inner ring and at least one rolling element disposed between the at least one outer ring and the one inner ring. The outer ring is axially enlarged with respect to the inner ring in a one-sided manner on a load-zone side of the spherical roller bearing.

Installation piece for supporting a roller in a roller stand

An installation piece for supporting a roller in a roller stand of a roller frame. The installation piece includes a main bore for receiving a journal of the roller, an inlet for a lubricant, an outlet for the lubricant, and a pump device for pumping the lubricant leaving the installation piece through the outlet. The pump device has a housing, an inlet channel, and an outlet channel. The inlet channel communicates with the inlet and the outlet channel communicates with the outlet for the flow of the lubricant. The pump device is driven by the flow of the lubricant in the inlet. The housing of the pump device is equipped with a screw pump and a turbine, which is driven by the pressurized inflowing lubricant, in the inlet channel for driving the screw pump.

Split ring and method of using improved split ring to assemble a roll

A split ring for use in assembling a bearing retainer onto a roll. The split ring helps keep a mounting jack in compression with the bearing retainer as the mounting jack compresses the bearing retainer onto the roll. In some embodiments, the split ring includes a plurality of apertures that are each configured to receive a drive mechanism that helps collapse the mounting jack to allow for removal of the split ring and the mounting jack once the bearing retainer is assembled onto the roll.
