A plurality of rolling elements is disposed in an annular cavity between the outer ring and the inner ring. The plurality of rolling elements is disposed between a first seal and a second seal. A shaft is received in a bore in the inner ring and is fixed relative thereto about the shaft axis. The outer ring is received in a tire. The tire has a thickness and a crown radius. The composition of the tire includes a metallic material, a plastic material, a non-metallic material, and combinations thereof.
Method for producing a constructed camshaft of an internal combustion engine
A method for producing a constructed camshaft of an internal combustion engine may be used in connection with a camshaft having a cam, a shaft, and an anti-friction bearing. The method may involve machining the cam, machining the shaft to produce a setting region for arranging the cam, heating the cam and the anti-friction bearing, pushing the cam onto the shaft into a preliminary position and pushing the anti-friction bearing onto the shaft into a bearing position, equalizing a temperature between the shaft, the cam, and the anti-friction bearing by cooling at least the cam, and setting the cam onto an end position by way of pushing the cam onto the setting region.
UNBALANCED SHAFT
An unbalanced shaft is provided that has a center of mass eccentric to its rotational axis to generate a shaft unbalance. The unbalanced shaft includes a bearing journal having a variable width throughout its circumference, and a multi-row cage having rollers which roll on inner raceways arranged on an outer lateral surface of the bearing journal. The rollers and inner raceways define a load zone, within which a width of each of the inner raceways is greater than an effective length of the rollers idling thereon. At least one of the inner raceways, which extends circumferentially for 360 degrees, has a width throughout that is greater than an effective length of the rollers rolling thereon. For sections outside of the load zone, at least one of the inner raceways has a width less than the effective length of the rollers that roll thereon.
MAINTENANCE FREE EXTENDED LIFE CAM FOLLOWER FOR A NECKER MACHINE
A cam follower for a ram of a metal can necker machine is provided. The cam follower has an outer ring and an inner ring coaxially disposed in the outer ring.
Powder Metal Alloy Composition for Sintered Powder Metal Insert for Aluminum Casting
A powder metal alloy composition is used in the production of a sintered powder metal insert for casting into an aluminum casting. The powder metal alloy composition includes an iron powder metal base, copper such that the copper is 3.5 weight percent or more of the powder metal alloy composition, and carbon in an amount of 0.1 to 1.0 weight percent of the powder metal alloy composition. Upon compacting and sintering the powder metal alloy composition to form the sintered powder metal insert, the sintered powder metal insert has a copper gradient that provides a higher concentration of copper on the surface of the sintered powder metal insert than in a center of the grains of the sintered powder metal insert. The higher concentration of copper at the surface of the insert enables a strong metallurgical bond to be formed with the aluminum casting during casting.
Rocker arm with an oil trough
A rocker arm assembly having a rocker arm including a pair of sidewalls, each sidewall defining a support aperture, a rocker arm support including a pair of opposed bearing support arms, each bearing support arm being disposed within a corresponding support aperture of the rocker arm and defining a lubrication groove extending along an outer surface thereof, and a pair of radial roller bearings, each including an inner cup, an outer cup, and a plurality of rollers disposed therebetween, wherein each radial roller bearing is disposed both on a corresponding bearing support arm and within a corresponding support aperture.
Bearing frame or cylinder head cover of an internal combustion engine
A bearing frame or a cylinder head cover for an internal combustion engine may include at least one camshaft mounted in tunnel bearings in at least two bearing openings arranged along a bearing channel and completely enclosing at least one of the camshaft and a radial bearing, and at least one axial shaft bearing ring arranged on the camshaft. The axial shaft bearing ring may have a ring groove which is open towards the bearing frame or towards the cylinder head cover. At least one engagement element may be arranged on the bearing frame or on the cylinder head cover, which engagement element may engage into the ring groove and forms an axial bearing for the camshaft.

A valve drive for a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine has a camshaft which is rotatably mounted in a first and a second camshaft bearing and which includes at least one cam with a first cam curve and a second cam curve that differs from the first cam curve. A gas exchange valve can be actuated by the first or the second cam curve via a cam follower. A camshaft section is provided, by which the cam can be moved by an actuator such that the gas exchange valve can be actuated either via the first or the second cam curve via the cam follower. The camshaft and the cam have a fixed position relative to each other. The camshaft can be axially moved in the first and the second camshaft bearing. The camshaft bearings consist of a camshaft bearing block and a common bearing frame. A lubricant supply bore is provided which opens into a fourth lubricant groove in the bearing frame in order to supply the bearing points with lubricant. A first lubricant groove is provided in the first camshaft bearing block, and a second lubricant groove is provided in the second camshaft bearing block. These lubricant grooves correspond to the fourth lubricant groove and are open in the direction of the cam follower.
