Systems and methods for preloading a bearing and aligning a lock nut
An apparatus for providing a load on a bearing mounted to a shaft includes an attaching member releasably connectable to the shaft. A press mechanism is coupled to the attaching member and is configured to provide a compressive load to the bearing. An optical sending unit is configured to output a high intensity light to allow a user to locate a shaft slot of the shaft to align the press mechanism relative to the shaft when the attaching member connects to the shaft.
Axle assembly
An axle assembly with a carrier housing, an input pinion and a ring gear. The input pinion includes pinion gear teeth and is supported for rotation about a first axis relative to the carrier housing via first and second bearings. The ring gear includes ring gear teeth that are meshed to the pinion gear teeth and a third bearing supports the ring gear for rotation about the second axis relative to the carrier housing. The third bearing is disposed along the second axis on a side of the ring gear that is opposite the first axis.
Insert and wear ring for a railway roller bearing
In accordance with one aspect of the present disclosure, a wear ring assembly is provided for a railway roller bearing. The wear ring assembly includes a wear ring having a central opening for receiving a journal of a railway wheel assembly and an insert including a plurality of spacers configured to extend in the opening of the wear ring to separate the wear ring from the journal. The spacers are spaced apart from each other about the wear ring. The insert may include one or more flanges that separate the wear ring from a bearing cone.
SEAL ASSEMBLY WITH A LOAD BEARING RING
A seal assembly is for sealing a space adjacent to a bearing and defined between an inner member and an outer member disposed about the inner member. The seal assembly includes an annular seal disposed about the inner member and having a sealing lip sealingly engageable with the inner member. An annular load ring is disposed within the outer member bore and has an inner circumferential surface defining a bore, the seal being disposed within the bore and coupled with the ring. A first axial end of the ring is disposed against the bearing outer ring, or a spacer disposed axially between the load ring and the bearing outer ring, and a second axial end is disposed against a radial surface of the outer member. The load ring is configured to support axial loading on, and to prevent axial displacement of, the bearing outer ring.

Axle assembly
An axle assembly with a housing, an annular gear, a bearing, a differential, and a pair of output shafts. The housing has an annular hub. The annular gear is received in the housing. The bearing, which is a four-point angular contact bearing, supports the gear for rotation about an axis relative to the housing and has an inner bearing race, which is mounted on the annular hub, and an outer bearing race that is fixedly coupled to the annular gear. The differential is received in the housing and includes an input member, which is coupled to the annular gear for rotation therewith, and a pair of output members that are rotatable relative to the input member about the output axis. Each of the output shafts is coupled to an associated one of the output members for rotation therewith. One of the output shafts extends through the annular hub.

AXLE ASSEMBLY HAVING A ROTOR BEARING ASSEMBLY
An axle assembly having an electric motor module, a drive pinion, and at least one rotor bearing assembly. The electric motor module may have a rotor. The rotor and the drive pinion may be rotatable about a first axis. The first rotor bearing assembly may extend between the drive pinion and the rotor.
Composite vehicle driveshaft with welded joint system
A composite vehicle driveshaft is provided with a composite tube and a welded joint system(s) at one or both ends of the composite tube for connecting the composite vehicle driveshaft to driveline components. Each welded joint system may include a sleeve that is bonded to an end of the composite tube and a joint assembly that is welded to the sleeve.
LUBRICANT-FREE STEERING AXLE ASSEMBLY
Methods and systems are provided for a steering axle assembly. In one example, a system may include a tapered pin coupled to a steering knuckle and to an axle beam end. A set of bushings may circumferentially surround the tapered pin and enable rotation of the steering knuckle around the tapered pin without lubricant.
