A split shaft is disclosed. The split shaft includes a proximal shaft section having a first proximal shaft end and a second proximal shaft end. The first proximal shaft end is configured to couple to the first machine arrangement. The split shaft further includes a distal shaft section having a first distal shaft end and a second distal shaft end. The first distal shaft end is configured to couple to the second machine arrangement. The second distal shaft end is configured to engage with the second proximal shaft end to convey the drive power from the first machine arrangement to the second machine arrangement. The second proximal shaft end includes a first indicator, and the second distal shaft end includes a second indicator. Alignment of the first indicator and the second indicator conveys timing for the drive power.

Bearing rotary swivel joint

A bearing rotary swivel joint preferably includes a swivel housing, a rotary swivel, an end plate, a solid bearing, a plurality of wear rings, a spring clip and a swivel seal. The swivel housing includes a threaded tube inlet and a swivel receiver bore. The rotary swivel includes a through bore, a threaded swivel inlet, a bearing diameter and an outer diameter. An O-ring groove is formed in the rotary swivel to receive the O-ring. The solid bearing is retained on the bearing diameter, terminated on each end with wear rings and axially retained with a spring clip against a bearing shoulder of the rotary swivel. The swivel seal is retained on the bearing diameter. The rotary swivel is inserted through a center bore in an end plate. The end plate is preferably fastened to the swivel housing with a plurality of fasteners.

Sealing element for a ball-and-socket joint

A sealing element for a ball joint has a sealing area on the housing side and a sealing area a distance away therefrom in an axial direction of the sealing element on the stud side. Arranged between the housing-side sealing area and the stud-side sealing area is an outlet opening which extends through the sealing element to allow the passage of spent lubricant. The outlet opening extends in the axial direction of the sealing element, passing all the way through the sealing element in the axial direction. Further, the sealing element is incorporated in a ball joint which is incorporated in a two-point control arm.

Elastomeric double Hooke's joint

Embodiments are directed to a double Hooke's joint gimbal in a rotor system. An upper Hooke's joint has four arms extending radially outward to define first and second axes, and a lower Hooke's joint has four arms extending radially outward to define third and fourth axes. A pair of connectors couple the upper Hooke's joint and the lower Hooke's joint. A first set of bearings are positioned between arms on the upper and lower Hooke's joints and the connectors. The first set of bearings comprise an elastomer, such as elastomeric journal bearings. The upper Hooke's joint is coupled to a yoke and rotor blades by a driver assembly that allows rotor blade flapping. The lower Hooke's joint is coupled to and driven by a mast. A spherical bearing allows the upper Hooke's joint to move laterally along the mast.
