No pin compliant journal bearing shaft for one part carrier
A journal bearing comprising a central member and at least a first end member separated from the central member by a first undercut having an undercut diameter U1, an outer cylindrical surface of the first end member being axially spaced from an outer cylindrical surface of the central member, wherein the outer cylindrical surface of the first end member has a diameter A, the outer cylindrical surface of the central member has a diameter B, and wherein diameter B is greater than diameter A, and diameter A is greater than diameter U1.
Anti-theft and rollaway prevention manual park release mechanism with rotating handle
A park release mechanism for a vehicle, including an upper housing and an assembleable lower housing. A cam with a projecting handle is arranged between the upper and lower housings and defines a range of pivotal rotation relative the housings. A cable is secured at one end to the cam and adapted to secure at an opposite end to a transmission of the vehicle. An unlock component is incorporated into the housing in communication with the cam and handle and, upon actuating, to shift the vehicle to and from a Park position upon actuation of the handle and displacement of the cable.
Gearbox Case With Wear Sleeve
A gearbox may include a gearbox case with a wear sleeve disposed within a shaft bore, and a gear assembly mounted on a shaft and disposed within the shaft bore. The gear assembly may include a bearing that engages the wear sleeve. A method of repairing a gearbox case may include uncoupling a top piece and a bottom piece of the gearbox case, forming an oversize bore in a shaft bore of the gearbox case to remove a damaged area, and installing a wear sleeve in the oversize bore.
LUBRICANT SUPPORTED EXTERNAL ROTOR ARCHITECTURES
A lubricant supported electric motor includes a stator and a rotor and a drive hub. The rotor is moveable relative to the stator and a gap is defined between the rotor and the stator. A lubricant is disposed within the gap to support the rotor relative to the stator and provide a bearing mechanism. The drive hub is coupled to the rotor such that rotation of the rotor causes rotation of the drive hub. The drive hub may be connected to the rotor via a coupler member that is torsionally stiff and axially and radially compliant. The stator may be fixed relative to a connection structure that extends radially within the stator. The connection member may support the drive hub for rotation. Lubricant is supplied via a passageway extending through the connection member into a chamber that includes the gap.
Transmission and vehicle
A first slider and a fifth-speed driving gear are arranged along an axial direction on a driving shaft. A shift fork has an end located in a guide groove of a shift drum, and another end connected to the first slider. In gear-shifting to a fifth speed, the first slider moves on the driving shaft so that a plurality of fifth-speed dog projections and a plurality of fifth-speed dog recesses mesh with each other. At least four of the plurality of fifth-speed dog projections and at least four of the plurality of fifth-speed dog recesses mesh within a range of 90 degrees at one side in the circumferential direction of the fifth-speed driving gear and a range of 90 degrees at another side in the circumferential direction of the fifth-speed driving gear with respect to a reference line.
DEEP GROOVE BALL BEARING AND DIFFERENTIAL
The present invention proposes a deep groove ball bearing, having an outer ring, an inner ring, spherical rollers located between the inner ring and outer ring, and a cage for holding the spherical rollers. In an axial direction, the inner ring has a first inner ring shoulder at a first side, and a second inner ring shoulder at a second side opposite the first side; and a first inner ring shoulder diameter of the first inner ring shoulder is configured to be larger than a second inner ring shoulder diameter of the second inner ring shoulder. The present invention further proposes a differential including the deep groove ball bearing.
SPIN-SET BEARING SETTING VERIFICATION METHOD
A method for spin set bearing setting verification in a preload state on a shaft. An inertia wheel may be disposed on the shaft. The inertia wheel or the shaft is rotated. A first rotational speed is measured at a first time. The inertia wheel may decelerate over time to achieve a second rotational speed measured at a second time. The second speed is less than first speed. The change in time between the first time and the second time is measured. The bearing setting may be adjusted if the change in time is outside a predetermined time range. The bearing setting may remain unchanged if the change in time is within a predetermined time range.
LAUNCH DEVICE COMPONENT ASSEMBLY AND RETENTION FEATURE
A launch device for rotationally coupling a prime mover to a transmission. The launch device includes a front and rear cover cooperating to define a chamber into which a plurality of blades extend forming an impeller. Located in the chamber and fluidically coupled to and rotationally driven by the impeller is a turbine. One or more roller bearings support the turbine and the rear cover for rotation about a central axis. The bearings include inner and outer members supporting the roller elements. A retention feature is further provided to aid in installation and retention of a support component with the bearing. The retention feature allows relative movement in an axial direction of assembly until the bearing and support components are fully engaged, but inhibits relative movement of the bearing and support components in an opposing axial direction.
Vehicle transmission and drive system
A transmission includes a transmission main housing, an intermediate plate secured to the transmission main housing; and a rear housing attached to the intermediate plate and/or attached with fasteners through the intermediate plate to the main housing. An input shaft is connected to an extension shaft including a plurality of splitter gears selectively couple-able to the extension shaft. A main shaft is rotatably supported by the range shaft and range shaft bearing and includes a plurality of main box gears selectively couple-able to the main shaft. A range shaft is drivingly connected to the main shaft and provides input to a planetary gear assembly. The extension shaft is supported at a first end by a bearing assembly within a partition wall of the main transmission housing and a second end is supported by a bearing assembly disposed within the bore in the range shaft.
High power epicyclic gearbox and operation thereof
A gas turbine engine for an aircraft includes an engine core with a turbine, a compressor, and a core shaft connecting the turbine and compressor; a fan upstream of the engine core including a plurality of fan blades; and a gearbox that receives an input from a gearbox input shaft portion of the core shaft and outputs drive to a fan shaft so as to drive the fan at a lower rotational speed than the core shaft, the gearbox being an epicyclic gearbox including a sun gear, a plurality of planet gears, a ring gear, and a planet carrier arranged to have the plurality of planet gears mounted thereon, and wherein the sun gear receives input from the core shaft. At cruise conditions the torque on the core shaft is greater than 10,000 Nm and a ratio of core shaft stiffness to core shaft torque is within a specified range.
