ADJUSTMENT DRIVE
20240410429 · 2024-12-12 · ·

An adjustment drive that includes an electric motor, a transmission having a self-locking transmission stage, an output, and a safety clutch having a free travel. The safety clutch is operable to separate, in an event of an excessive external torque introduced via the output, the self-locking transmission stage from the external torque. The adjustment drive also includes at least one compressible damping element arranged in the free travel to enable haptics of an external movement demand introduced via the output.

Asymmetric mechanical torque limiter

An asymmetric torque limiter having an axis of rotation including a first annular friction disk, a second annular friction disk a skewed roller disk a first resilient member and a second resilient member. The second annular friction disk is concentrically arranged with the first annular friction disk. The skewed roller disk is in contact with the second annular friction disk. The skewed roller disk includes a plurality of skewed rollers mounted in an annular retainer. The plurality of skewed rollers are about a respective roller axis, each roller axis being skewed to a radial direction passing through the skewed roller from the axis of rotation. The first resilient member is attached to the first annular friction disk and is configured to bias the first annular friction disk toward an input shaft. The second resilient member is configured to bias the skewed roller disk toward the second annular friction disk.

DIFFERENTIAL WITH BIDIRECTIONAL OVERRUNNING CLUTCH

A differential with an always actuated overrunning clutch (ORC) is provided. The differential includes a first plain bearing end cap with an interior surface that forms a plain bearing interface with an outer surface of a first side hub. The first plain bearing end cap further has a first outer surface portion that engages a first end portion of a roller cage assembly. A second plain bearing end cap with an interior surface that forms a plain bearing interface with an outer surface of the second side hub is also included. The second plain bearing end cap further has a first outer surface portion that engages a second end portion of the roller cage assembly. The always actuated ORC engages the roller cage assembly during an ORC condition to couple torque between a ring gear and the first and second side hubs.
