The wheelchair is provided with; right and left handrims; a rotary shaft for transmitting a rotational force generated by a handrim on one side to a wheel on the opposite side via a drive mechanism; and a wheel hub for transmitting the rotational force generated by the handrim on the one side to the wheel on the same side via the drive mechanism, wherein the drive mechanism includes two pairs of right and left sensors respectively disposed on an outer surface of each of the handrims, a first non-excitation electromagnetic clutch for transmitting the rotational force to the right wheel, a second non-excitation electromagnetic clutch for transmitting the rotational force to the wheel on the opposite side, and a third non-excitation electromagnetic clutch for transmitting the rotational force to the left wheel.

The curved cylinder comprises an electroactive polymer. The surgical instrument system comprises an actuation rod which is configured to transmit an actuation force and a sensor system which is configured to detect the magnitude of the actuation force. The electroactive polymer is responsive to the actuation force and provides feedback to a user of the surgical instrument system.

TWO-SPEED TRANSMISSION FOR ELECTRIC DRIVING VEHICLE

The present invention relates to a two-speed transmission for an electric driving vehicle and the two-speed transmission for an electric vehicle has only one actuator. The transmission comprises a planetary gear mechanism (12), an elastic body (44), an armature (26) to integrally rotate with an input axis, an electromagnetic coil (46) and a multi-plate friction clutch (30). A ring gear (20) is fixed to a housing. The armature (26) comprises clutch projection portions (26-1). A dog clutch is constituted by the clutch projection portions (26-1) and recess portions (18-2) of a sun gear (18). When the electromagnetic coil (46) is not electrically energized, the dog clutch is engaged. The rotation of the input axis is reduced and is transmitted to an output axis via the sun gear (18) and a carrier (16). When the electromagnetic coil (46) is electrically energized, the armature (26) is displaced against elastic force, the dog clutch becomes a non-engaging state, a multi-plate friction clutch (30) becomes an engaging state by pressing flange portions (26-4) of the armature (26) and the rotation of the input axis is transmitted to the output axis with a one-to-one relationship. The transmission can comprise a one-way clutch to prevent torque interruption when switching the gear ratio.

A seat assembly, a multi-passenger vehicle, and a method for attaching seats to a floor of a vehicle that employ an electromagnetic coupling between the seats and the floor. A power supply supplies electricity to the electromagnetic coupling to secure the seats to the floor and is turned off to release the seats from the floor without tools or workers bending down below the seats to remove coupling devices. The seats can therefore be readily repositioned or rearranged to adjust the spacing between the seats. Resident induction coupling is included between the floor of the vehicle and the seats to provide wireless power to the seats.
