Dual piston actuator

An actuator assembly can include a housing, first and second pistons, and spring. The housing can include first and second cylinders disposed about an axis. The first piston and cylinder can define a first chamber in fluid communication with an inlet. The second piston and cylinder can define a second chamber in fluid communication with an outlet. Opposite ends of the spring can be coupled for axial translation with the first and second piston, respectively. The spring can translate the first piston to provide high volume, low pressure fluid to the outlet when a pressure in the first chamber is less than a predetermined pressure. When the pressure in the first chamber is equal to, or greater than, the predetermined pressure and the second piston is translated in the first axial direction, the spring can compress and the second piston can provide low volume, high pressure fluid to the outlet.

Clutch apparatus and method for controlling the clutch apparatus

A clutch apparatus includes a clutch hub, a clutch drum, a multi-plate clutch having inner clutch plates and outer clutch plates, a piston for pressing the multi-plate clutch, an electric motor, a moving mechanism for moving the piston in an axial direction in accordance with the amount of rotation of the electric motor, and a control unit for controlling the electric motor. When increasing a rotational force that is transmitted between the clutch hub and the clutch drum by increasing electric current that is supplied to the electric motor, the control unit moves the piston in the axial direction by temporarily supplying the electric motor with the electric current having a first current value that is greater than a second current value corresponding to a target rotational force that needs to be transmitted between the clutch hub and the clutch drum.

Method for determining an angular position of a rotating component, in particular of an electric motor for a clutch actuation system of a vehicle

A method for determining an angular position of a rotating component is disclosed. A sensor system is positioned at a radial distance from an axis of rotation of the rotating component. A magnetic ring is arranged fixedly and concentrically on the rotating component, generating a magnetic field that changes with respect to the sensor system. The sensor system detects the magnetic field in which a signal is captured and evaluated with respect to the angular position. Errors in the measurement of the angular position can be corrected. The signal captured by the sensor system is evaluated with respect to the amplitude information of the magnetic field. A correction parameter is determined from the amplitude information, and an angle error is of the angular position is determined based on the correction parameter. The angle error is used to correct the angular position.

Component group with a frictional device

Embodiments of the present invention relate to a component group with a friction device with at least two components that are rotatable relative to one another, in particular for actuating a clutch of a vehicle, wherein a coil spring influencing the degree of efficiency, the friction is disposed between the components that are rotatable relative to one another and wherein the component group with a friction device is integrated in a transmission or an actuator, or both.

Electrohydraulic actuator

The invention relates to an electrohydraulic actuator comprising a hydraulic piston, a spindle drive for moving the piston along an axis of rotation, wherein the spindle drive comprises a spindle and a nut, and a worm wheel, which is coaxially attached to the nut. Furthermore, an electric motor having a worm, which meshes with the worm wheel, is provided. The nut is radially and axially supported by means of a bearing. In addition, there is a single-armed rotation-prevention mechanism in order to prevent the spindle from rotating. An angle with respect to the axis of rotation is included between a point of action of the worm on the worm wheel and the effective direction of the rotation-prevention mechanism, wherein the angle is selected in such a way that, for a predetermined torque acting on the nut, a radial force acting on the piston is minimized.

To downsize the periphery of reaction force applying device of a clutch controller, and set operation load more freely, in a clutch control system that links the clutch controller and a clutch device electrically, an operation reaction force is applied to a clutch lever, from reaction force applying device that uses a spring as a reaction force generation source; the reaction force applying device includes multiple reaction force generation cylinders arranged parallel to one another; and the clutch lever has an input/output arm, which extends toward an input/output part of each of the multiple reaction force generation cylinders from the vicinity of a lever support shaft, to allow transmission of operating force and reaction force between the clutch lever and the reaction force applying device.

DRIVE FORCE TRANSMISSION APPARATUS

A drive force transmission apparatus is mountable on a four-wheel drive vehicle switchable between a four-wheel drive mode that transmits a drive force of an engine to front wheels and rear wheels, and a two-wheel drive mode that transmits the drive force to only the front wheels. The drive force transmission apparatus allows adjustment of the drive force to the rear wheels, and includes a multi-plate clutch, a piston for axially pressing the multi-plate clutch, an actuator for axially moving the piston, and a control unit for controlling the actuator. Upon satisfaction of a predetermined condition that indicates a high probability of the vehicle needing to be switched from the two-wheel drive mode to the four-wheel drive mode, the control unit causes the actuator to displace the piston by a predetermined amount with respect to an initial position of the piston toward the multi-plate clutch.
