Failsafe multimode clutch assemblies for rotorcraft
A failsafe multimode clutch assembly is positioned in a powertrain of a rotorcraft. The clutch assembly includes a freewheeling unit having input and output races. The freewheeling unit has a driving mode in which torque applied to the input race is transferred to the output race and an overrunning mode in which torque applied to the output race is not transferred to the input race. A bypass assembly has an engaged position that couples the input and output races of the freewheeling unit. An actuator assembly must be energized to shift the bypass assembly from the engaged position to a disengaged position. In the disengaged position, the overrunning mode of the freewheeling unit is enabled such that the clutch assembly is configured for unidirectional torque transfer. In the engaged position, the overrunning mode of the freewheeling unit is disabled such that the clutch assembly is configured for bidirectional torque transfer.

HYDRAULIC CLUTCHES, GEARBOXES, TRANSMISSIONS, ENERGY RECOVERY SYSTEMS, MECHANICAL ONE WAY CLUTCHES, MECHANICAL DIODES, AND VARIABLE FRICTION CLUTCHES
A mechanical one way clutch, also known as a mechanical diode, is provided with a variable friction clutch that can be applied to smooth the engagement. An automobile or other wheeled vehicle includes various hydraulic components, including a hydraulic gearbox, transmission, clutch, and brake energy recovery system. Such hydraulic components supplement or replace traditional mechanical components of the automobile or other wheeled vehicle to improve the overall operational efficiency thereof.
Modified vehicle transmission
A kit for modifying an OE vehicle transmission includes a replacement forward piston housing, forward clutch hub and a forward clutch and a replacement direct piston housing, direct clutch hub and a direct clutch. A drum extends between and operably connects the replacement forward piston housing and direct piston housing. The kit includes a replacement sprag shaft. The forward clutch hub and forward clutch and the direct clutch hub and direct clutch are positioned between the forward piston housing and the direct piston housing. At least a portion of the forward clutch and at least a portion of the direct clutch are operably mounted to the drum. The forward piston housing and direct piston housing do not counter rotate relative to one another. A power flow module for an OE vehicle automatic transmission is disclosed.
Clutch assembly
A clutch assembly is disclosed herein that generally has at least three operating conditions: an open condition, a transition condition, and a locked condition. The operating conditions are achieved based on displacement of a dog clutch ring relative to a pocket ring and a cam ring. In the open condition, rockers of a ratcheting assembly are completely disengaged from ramps on a cam ring. In the transition condition, the rockers engage with the ramps on the cam ring to allow a ratcheting motion in one rotational direction and a locked state in the other rotational direction. In the locked condition, splines on the dog clutch ring engage with splines on the cam ring to provide a rotationally fixed connection in both rotational directions.

Lower pair arc stop-block overrunning clutch
The invention discloses a lower pair arc stop-block overrunning clutch comprising an outer rotating element, an inner rotating element, a friction block assembly, a wedge assembly, a first propeller assembly, a first elastic element and a synchronized push-block assembly, wherein a plurality of friction blocks of the friction block assembly are connected end to end and arranged between a first rotating ring and a second rotating ring; an drive element drives the first propeller assembly to press the synchronized push-block assembly to achieve synchronization of the friction block assembly; the first propeller assembly is stationary relative to the friction block assembly, the friction block assembly is pushed to rotate reversely with a driven element; the wedge assembly is wedged to generate a radial pressure on the friction block assembly so that the friction block assembly can achieve lower pair arc stop, thereby achieving the transfer of torque.
