TORQUE-LIMITING DEVICE
An actuator comprises an input shaft, a sliding collar arranged around the input shaft, and an output shaft. The input shaft, output shaft and sliding collar are arranged such that a torque applied to the input shaft can be transmitted via the sliding collar to the output shaft. The actuator comprises a torque-limiting device for limiting the transmission of torque between the input shaft and the output shaft if the torque exceeds a certain threshold. The torque-limiting device comprises one or more rolling elements arranged between the sliding collar and the input shaft to allow the sliding collar to move axially relative to the input shaft and engage with or disengage from the output shaft.
Wrap spring park brake system, apparatus and method
A park brake system for an electric motor actuator is provided. The system may comprise a wrap spring that may rotatably engage the shaft. In this regard, the system may be configured to exert a radial force on a shaft of the electric motor actuator to lock the actuator. Moreover, in various embodiments, the system may be bi-stable.

Slow speed, off-highway, wheel hub and bearing system, with hand braking mechanisms
An accessory plate accommodates a caliper brake disc system in either a retrofit kit or in the original construction of wheelbarrows, hand carts and other wheeled, slow speed vehicles. The accessory plate or extension plate is secured to an axle or hub providing attachment to a caliper system. The accessory plate may be modified to accept other accessories, including but not limited to electric motors, drum brake arms and accessories, lights, battery packs or other accessories pertinent to the vehicle's enhanced operation. A hub system may be optionally used and may help to accommodate the installation of an accessory plate and/or rotor disc and/or drum brake or drum brake actuator.
Electro ceramic coated aluminum transmission components
The present invention is directed to apply plates, clutch plates, reaction plates and backing plates utilized of friction clutch packs, brake housings, clutch hubs, clutch housings, accumulators, spline sets, valve bodies and wear surfaces against which bushings, seals, springs and similar components slide and contact which are utilized in motor vehicle automatic transmissions, are fabricated of aluminum and include an electro ceramic coating deposited thereon. Such components exhibit reduced weight relative to similar components fabricated of steel as well as extended service life due to both the hardness and porosity of the ceramic coating.

ACTUATOR AND METHOD OF ACTUATING A LATCH
An actuator comprises a housing, a motor, a drive mechanism and a clutch coupled to the drive mechanism. The motor is mounted displaceably relative to the housing. A displacement of the motor relative to the housing is operative to actuate the clutch.
Hand-held work implement and process for producing a braking device of a hand-held work implement
A hand-held work implement having a tool has a braking device for the tool that includes a brake band which wraps around a brake drum. The brake band and the brake drum undergo friction as they move relative to one another during braking. At least one of the band or drum comprises an austenitic steel, a duplex steel, super duplex steel, a nickel-base alloy or a cobalt-base alloy and has a base body and a marginal layer. The hardness of the marginal layer is approximately 150% to approximately 600% of the hardness of the base body and the carbide proportion in the marginal layer is less than approximately 0.5% by weight. A process for production of the foregoing includes diffusing carbon and/or nitrogen into a marginal layer at a temperature of less than 500 C.

Bi-stable voice coil park brake
The present disclosure provides devices and methods related to park brake systems and methods. In various embodiments, a park brake system may comprise a motor shaft having a first diameter portion and a second diameter portion, the second diameter portion having a greater diameter than the first diameter portion. A park brake system may further comprise a spring disposed at least partially around a circumference of the motor shaft, a wire coil disposed at least partially around a circumference of a bobbin, a one-way clutch disposed at least partially within the bobbin and coaxial to the motor shaft, an annular magnet disposed coaxial to the motor shaft and distal to at least a portion of the bobbin, and a clutch release mechanism disposed coaxial to the motor shaft and around the first diameter portion. In response to a first voltage being applied to the wire coil, the one-way clutch may translate axially in a first direction relative to the motor shaft and engage with the second diameter portion; in response to a second voltage applied to the wire coil, the one-way clutch may translate axially in a second direction relative to the motor shaft and engage with the clutch release mechanism.
