BRAKE CYLINDER DUST COVER AND WATERPROOF BRAKE CYLINDER USING SUCH DUST COVER
The invention discloses a brake cylinder dust cover and a waterproof brake cylinder using such dust cover. The brake cylinder comprises a brake cylinder body and a front cover. A waterproof dust cover assembly is arranged on the front cover. The waterproof dust cover assembly comprises a dust cover fixedly connected to the front cover, and a filter felt support and a filter felt pad which are arranged in the dust cover. The filter felt support is connected with the dust cover, and the filter felt pad is fixed on the filter felt support. An outwards extending skirt is arranged at the edge of the dust cover in the axial direction thereof.
Bracket for brake caliper cover
Disclosed is a caliper cover and associated bracket. The bracket includes a surface configuration that guides the bracket along the caliper and/or that applies an elastic force against the caliper for more stable assembly. The bracket also includes an engagement structure with an engagement tab that couples the bracket to the caliper, and an opening for allowing a bolt or other fastener to fasten the caliper cover to the bracket and caliper.
Drum Brake Dust Shield for a Vehicle Braking System
A drum brake dust shield is provided for a vehicle braking system having a drum brake assembly. The dust shield comprises a first semicircular portion lying in a generally flat plane, and a second semicircular portion lying in the same plane as the first portion to form an annular disc. A dividing slit is defined between the first and second portions. The dust shield further comprises a hinge portion interconnecting the first and second portions. The hinge portion has a stress-relief slit that transversely intersects the dividing slit such that mechanical stresses between the first and second portions are distributed and dispersed over a relatively larger surface area when the first and second portions are spread apart along the dividing slit in opposite directions relative to each other to install the dust shield on the drum brake assembly.
Cathodically protected hub and brake rotor assembly
A wheel hub and brake rotor assembly is disclosed which is resistant to corrosion via cathodic protection. One or more sacrificial anodes may be mounted on the hub and/or the rotor.
BRAKE SIGNAL TRANSMITTER, BRAKING SYSTEM, AND VEHICLE
A brake signal transmitter (10) includes a housing (11) and a liquid drainage system (20). The liquid drainage system (20) includes an opening in the housing (11) and a cover (30) that extends over or along the opening. The cover (30) includes at least one aperture that allows a liquid to be drained through the cover (30). The opening (21) of the housing (11) is arranged on a downward side of the housing (11) relative to a gravitational force the transmitter is mounted horizontally. The cover (30) may be a cap having a filter inserted therein. The filter may define a tortuous path to block ingress of water or debris into the housing. The cover may include resilient fingers that snap fit into a socket of the housing.
Brake actuator apparatus for shielding and centering
A brake actuator comprises a housing having an end wall and a pushrod projecting through an opening in the end wall and terminating at a movable plate in the housing. A spring is enclosed in the housing and surrounds the pushrod. At least one unitary resilient member is disposed on the push rod proximate to the end wall and partially extends through the opening for centering the spring around an axis of the pushrod and restricting contamination into the housing. The unitary resilient member comprises a central aperture and an annular flange surrounding the central aperture. At least one section of a collar radially outward from the annular flange has a thickness less than half of the annular flange thickness for constraining movement of the spring and the push rod in a radial direction.

FRICTION MATERIAL AND FRICTION MEMBER
The friction material and friction member are provided, in which copper, having serious environmental effects, is not contained or is not contained at more than 0.5 mass % of copper, rust adhering force is low, rust delamination is unlikely to occur, the friction material composition includes a binder, an organic filler, an inorganic filler, and a fibrous substrate, wherein the friction material composition contains no copper as an element or contains not more than 0.5 mass % of copper, and contains fibrillated aramid fiber as the fibrous substrate, and wherein porosity measured by oil immersing method is not more than 15% and sulfate ion concentration measured by ion chromatography is not more than 500 ppm.
FREIGHT TRAILER BRAKE CLEARING SYSTEM
A brake clearing system useful for clearing mechanical components of one or more brake units provided on a freight trailer having an air storage reservoir. The system includes a flow controller, at least one delivery hose, and at least one discharge device. The flow controller is fluidly between the air storage reservoir and the auxiliary tank. The delivery hose is fluidly connected to an outlet of the flow controller and delivers pressurized air to the discharge device. The discharge device, in turn, is configured to direct pressurized air at components of one of the brake units.
