A disc brake having a brake carrier, a guide surface and a travel limiting arrangement. A first brake pad assembly is configured to slide relative to the guide surface. The travel limiting arrangement engages the guide surface and is configured to inhibit sliding of the first brake pad assembly relative to the guide surface that is above a pre-determined amount.

The caliper is slidable with respect to the brake carrier for clamping and release of a rotor by the brake pads. The actuating arrangement is configured to selectively move the caliper and the brake carrier relative to each other generally transverse to a first longitudinal axis so as to lock or inhibit sliding of the caliper relative to the carrier.

A motor stop mechanism serves as a stop limit for a motor including an output shaft. The motor stop mechanism includes a motor mounting surface to which the motor is attachable, where the motor output shaft is positionable through the motor mounting surface. A coupler is fixable to and rotatable with the output shaft, and a threaded drive shaft is fixed to and rotatable with the coupler. A trunnion threaded on the threaded drive shaft is displaceable on the threaded drive shaft with rotation of the threaded drive shaft. The trunnion is displaceable between a retracted position and an extended position by forward and reverse rotation of the threaded drive shaft. A stop limit defines the extended position of the trunnion. In use, when the trunnion reaches the stop limit, the motor is stopped.

The support member is provided with a guide portion guiding movement between a locked position and an unlocked position. The cam mechanism moves the parking pawl closer to the parking gear to be meshed therewith. A stopper is disposed on the lock member, to be engaged with the support member by taking a projecting posture in which the stopper projects toward the support member in the parking locked state.

The actuator (32) comprises a coil (42) which is stationary and which, in the energized state, generates a magnetic field, by way of which the actuator slide (30) can be moved out of the first position into the second position or vice versa. The coil (42) is not energized in the first and in the second position, wherein the actuator (32) fixes the actuator slide (30) in the first position and the second position.
